Chapter 61: A Wedding

The dishes were quickly delivered to the private room.

When he booked the private room at the restaurant, Lin Xiao Feng preordered a few dishes according to the elders’ taste.

The two families started to eat while chatting happily.

An Nuan was initially tense, as she was worried that the elders would give her the same speech that her sister-in-law had given her earlier.

Seeing everyone eating happily without looking at her, An Nuan finally let her guard down and enjoyed the food.

Just like Lin Xiao Feng had said, the vegetarian dishes at the restaurant were very good.

An Nuan felt that she would not mind eating vegetarian dishes all the time if she could eat the food from the restaurant.

She sat at the dining table while listening to everyone’s conversation in silence.

“Are you alright?”

The voice made An Nuan look up and saw Lin Xiao Feng leaning over to her. She watched as Lin Xiao Feng placed a piece of stir-fried eggplant into her bowl before looking at her again.

“I noticed that you liked this dish,” Lin Xiao Feng pointed out.

Their gazes met briefly before An Nuan chose to look away.

“Mmm… It’s quite good. I liked the charred taste of the eggplant.” An Nuan picked up the eggplant that Lin Xiao Feng placed in her bowl and munched it quietly.

“Then, you should eat a little more.”

Just like that, another piece of eggplant appeared in her bowl.

An Nuan raised her head and happened to meet her mother’s eyes. She realized that her mother and her mother-in-law were watching her and Lin Xiao Feng.

Judging from the smiles on their face, An Nuan could tell that the two women had something in their minds.

As for what it was, An Nuan was sure that it was regarding her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng.

An Nuan lowered her head. She suddenly realized that her family members were hoping that she could get along with Lin Xiao Feng well instead of having a cooperative marriage.

For now, she decided as if she did not notice anything.

Once the meal had almost come to an end, Lin Xiao Feng called the restaurant’s staff and asked them to bring the gifts that he had let them keep earlier.

An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng handed the gifts they had bought for everyone. Even Little Yi Ran received something from Lin Xiao Feng. The little boy smiled brightly as he thanked Lin Xiao Feng. Later, he insisted on sitting beside Lin Xiao Feng and refused to part from him.

As she sat in the room, An Nuan observed her family’s interaction with Lin Xiao Feng.

Was it her imagination or did her family like Lin Xiao Feng more than Pei Zhi Yi?

She remembered that her parents were not that warm towards her ex.

“An Nuan.”

Grandpa Lin’s voice made An Nuan look up. She then noticed that everyone’s attention was on her.

“Grandfather.” An Nuan smiled.

“Your grandfather and I have been talking,” Lin Chuan continued as he glanced at the old man beside him. “I know that you and Xiao Feng had your wedding not too long ago. Unfortunately, other than Xiao Feng’s parents, none of Lin’s family members were able to attend.”

“Grandfather,” Lin Xiao Feng opened his mouth. His brow furrowed deeply. His gaze contained a hint of warning. Lin Xiao Feng did not want his grandfather to say anything unnecessary to An Nuan.

Noticing Lin Xiao Feng’s gaze, An Nuan’s grandfather, An Shao, decided to speak, “Old Lin and I have talked about it. Xiao Feng, I also thought that it was unfair that your family and friends were unable to celebrate an important day in your life. Xiao Feng, you are the only son of your parents. I’m sure that they would love to watch you marry properly.”

Lin Xiao Feng shifted his glance at his parents before turning to his grandfather.

He understood what his elders had in their minds.

Other than An Nuan’s family members who attended that wedding as well as a few people who are closer to Lin’s family, not a lot of people knew that Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan were married.

Most people knew that An Nuan married a random guy among her guests. But not everyone knew who Lin Xiao Feng really was.

As for the Pei family, they would not speak about that day to anyone. They were still in denial. These days, Pei Zhi Yi has been trying to find An Nuan so that they can rekindle their relationship.

If Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan had another wedding, they could proudly announce to the world that they were married.

“Grandpa An, Grandfather, I know what you both meant.” Lin Xiao Feng paused as he glanced at An Nuan. “But An Nuan and I had our wedding not too long ago. Having another one is a bit too much, don’t you think?”

“I did not mean that you are to hold a wedding immediately,” An Shao said. “A wedding is not a trivial matter. It needed a lot of preparation and planning. Let’s give it a year. Consider it to celebrate your anniversary. The two of you could use the opportunity to renew your vows as well.”

The light in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes flickered. He liked Grandpa An’s idea very much. But in the end, everything is up to An Nuan.

With that thought in his head, Lin Xiao Feng turned to look at the woman beside him.

An Nuan realized that once again, everyone was looking at her, waiting for her answer.

She let out a cough and said, “Grandpa, if you think that this is the best, then, I don’t mind going through with it.”

In An Nuan’s mind… She had promised Grandfather Lin that she would help Lin Xiao Feng with everything she could now that she had married him.

Having a wedding would be important for Lin Xiao Feng, especially with his position. Because of that, An Nuan did not completely reject this idea.

An Nuan’s answer made the people around the table heave a breath of relief. Just like that, the elders turned to look at each other to discuss the wedding banquet.
