Chapter 67: Chicken Wings

Zhang Yu Han returned to his friend’s side after sending his daughter to his wife’s side. When he arrived, he could see that the boys were busy catching up.

Now that they were older, everyone was busy with their own life. They had their family and career they needed to focus on. The number of times they could meet each other like this was not too many.

On a rare occasion like this, there would be a lot of things that they wanted to talk about.

Zhang Yu Han walked over to Lin Xiao Feng’s side and patted him on the shoulder. “Is there any change between you and An Nuan these days?”

Lin Xiao Feng shifted his gaze to An Nuan who was seen talking with the other women. A faint smile curled on his lips when he saw that An Nuan seemed to be having fun.

Lin Xiao Feng did not answer Zhang Yu Han’s question immediately. He stared at An Nuan openly for a long time before he finally retracted his gaze.

“She seemed better,” An Nuan said. “But it is still too early before I can make a move. I will let her calm down and move on first. It seemed that forgetting his ex would take her a while. Yu Han, they have been in a relationship for a long time and were nearly married. It will not be easy to move on.”

Zhang Yu Han nodded. “As long as you stay by her side.”

Lin Xiao Feng sighed.

It would be difficult for him to stay by An Nuan’s side all the time. Most of the time, he would be in Capital City while An Nuan would be in Y City.

Lin Xiao Feng wanted to return to Y City frequently, but it would be difficult for him.

“But at least, we are no longer acting like strangers,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

Lin Xiao Feng knew that he had to take things slowly.

“These days, I will be busy with my work in Capital City,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “I have to ask you to look after An Nuan while I am not around.” He looked at his friends who were listening to his conversation.

“You don’t have to worry about that,” Su Ming Yuan said. “Xiao Feng, we will look after An Nuan even if you don’t say a word.”

“I will ask Qin Yao and Yu Ying to look after her as well,” Zhang Yu Han said. “The girls would get along better.”

Lin Xiao Feng looked up again when he remembered the discussion he had with the elders during the meeting between the two families. “The elders wanted us to have another wedding. ”

The boys did not look surprised. They felt that it was natural for the elders to want another wedding especially when Lin Xiao Feng’s family was not able to attend the first one.

“The wedding will be held a year later,” Lin Xiao Feng continued.

“That’s good.” Qi Zheng nodded. “Look, Yun Shu and I will be having our wedding after I return to Y City for good. When that time comes, you all have to attend.”

The boys were still chatting when they heard the sound of footsteps heading towards them. When they turned around, Zhang Li Xue was seen running over with her younger brother following her around.

“Daddy!” Zhang Li Xue raised the plate in her hand. “I want barbecued chicken wings! Are they ready yet?”

“Chicken wings!” The young boy, Zhang Yi Hai repeated with a slight lisp.

“Be careful.” Zhang Yu Han frowned as he crouched down. “Don’t run around.”

They were standing near the barbecue pit.

Zhang Yu Han was afraid that his children would fall and knock on the pit.

The little girl smiled sheepishly. It seemed that she was not regretting her action and instead, she hoped that her father would not be too angry when he saw her smiling sweetly.

Zhang Li Xue knew that her father was more lenient towards her as compared to her mother.

“Daddy.” The little girl batted her eyes a few times. “I’m hungry.”

Zhang Yu Han heaved a sigh before helping his children with some food.

“Don’t just eat chicken wings,” Feng An Yu patted the children’s head. “Li Xue, Yi Hai, you both need to eat vegetables as well.”

“Uncle, Mommy made us eat some salad earlier.” Zhang Li Xue looked at the older man with an innocent look on her face. “We ate enough vegetables.”

“That’s good. Eating more vegetables will make you healthier. When you are healthier, you won’t have to eat medicine.”

Zhang Li Xue’s eyes widened. She did not like to eat medicine. They were all bitter.

“It’s alright if you don’t like to eat medicine,” Qi Zheng joined in to tease the little girl. “I’m a doctor. I can give you an injection.”

“Daddy!” Zhang Li Xue held her father’s arm. “I will eat more vegetables.”

Zhang Yu Han narrowed his eyes to his friends. “Don’t tease her so much.” He turned to his children again and sighed. “Are you going to eat here or go back to your mommy?”

The little girl eyed the chicken wings on the plate. “Daddy, we will eat here.”

Zhang Yi Hai nodded.

“Then, sit down.” Zhang Yu Han lifted his children and let them sit on the bench.

The young siblings ate their food silently. Then, Zhang Li Xue looked at her father again. “Daddy.” Her voice muffled as her mouth was full of food. “Are you going to play basketball later? I want to watch the game.” She shifted her eyes to her uncles and looked at them with her eyes full of hope.
