Chapter 79: Push This Matter to Zhang Yu Han

An Nuan inhaled a few deep breaths to calm down.

She wanted to believe that Lin Xiao Feng did not give her the box of chocolate for a reason.

Perhaps, Zhang Yu Han got a few boxes for his family members and offered a few to his friends. However, An Nuan then remembered the card she found in the packaging.

“There is a card.”

Lin Xiao Feng was quick to notice that something was not right with An Nuan’s expression and tone of voice. His body tensed. His mind was telling him that he had to be careful.

“What card?” Lin Xiao Feng decided to pretend as if he knew nothing about that card.

An Nuan could not hide her surprise upon hearing Lin Xiao Feng’s question. Looking at his reaction, Lin Xiao Feng seemed as if he was clueless and knew nothing about a card.

“A greeting card,” An Nuan continued. Her eyes were glued to the screen. An Nuan did not want to miss Lin Xiao Feng’s reaction. “I found it with the box of chocolate. Wishing me a one-month wedding anniversary.”

“It has been a month?” Lin Xiao Feng pretended to be surprised.

Of course, as someone who was involved in politics, Lin Xiao Feng was trained to mask her expression in front of other people. Putting an act in front of An Nuan was not difficult.

If he was someone who did not know how to hide his feelings, then, An Nuan would be able to figure out his feelings for her years ago. He has been hiding for years. Putting on an act for a few more minutes was very easy.

“You don’t remember?” An Nuan asked.

“Mmm…” Lin Xiao Feng lowered his gaze to look at the documents on his table. “Recently, I have been busy with a lot of things. The new project is important. There are a lot of things for us to do before the deadline. I don’t remember well.” He massaged his forehead, pretending as if the amount of work was giving him a headache. An Nuan stayed silent as she continued to observe Lin Xiao Feng.

She wanted to believe that Lin Xiao Feng was too busy to remember their wedding date. They got married on impulse and such a date would not be important for Lin Xiao Feng.

However, she needed an answer to that card.

“You said that there’s a card coming with the chocolate?” Lin Xiao Feng watched as An Nuan nodded. “Let me take a look at it. Do you still have it with you?”

“I have it with me.” An Nuan picked up the card that she had placed on her desk. She lifted it up and showed it to the camera.

“Mmm… I guess this should be Yu Han’s work,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “After all, the chocolate was delivered directly from the hotel.”

Lin Xiao Feng could sense that An Nuan became uncomfortable the moment she mentioned the card. It seemed as if she was afraid that he would tell her that he was the one who sent the card.

For now, he could only push this matter to Zhang Yu Han as he did not want things to get awkward between him and An Nuan.

He was going to win her heart. However, he would not have been able to do that if An Nuan had kept her guard up around him.

Lin Xiao Feng had to admit that he was a little hasty when he decided to include the card.

It was just that… when he remembered that it had been a month since they got together, Lin Xiao Feng got a bit excited. He had almost forgotten that An Nuan might not share the same feelings as him.

Lin Xiao Feng reminded himself that he has to be very cautious with An Nuan. She was still in the process of moving on from her previous relationship.

“Don’t think about it too much,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “Yu Han probably thought it would be fun to tease us.”

“Hmm…” An Nuan nodded. Her expression was no longer as tense.

An Nuan should have doubted Lin Xiao Feng a little more. However, she wanted to believe that Lin Xiao Feng did not suddenly turn into a romantic person. She did not want to make their relationship awkward, especially when she was not ready to think about a relationship. It would put her under pressure.

“I will talk to Yu Han later,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“Don’t bother,” An Nuan said quickly. “It’s not important. You should have a lot of things to do other than asking your friend about a card. Besides, I think it’s good that you have such good friends around you. They remembered this date when we both did not remember anything about it.”

Lin Xiao Feng chuckled. He could not tell An Nuan that the date was important to him. However, he was relieved that An Nuan was no longer suspicious of him. “Alright then.”

An Nuan quickly changed the subject between them now that she already decided not to think about the card.

Lin Xiao Feng was telling An Nuan a few things about his work when he noticed the bluish mark on An Nuan’s fair arm.

The words he wanted to say suddenly disappeared.

Lin Xiao Feng stared at the spot for a long time, wondering if he had seen it wrong.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” An Nuan called his name when she noticed that he had not finished his words. “What’s wrong?”

“An Nuan, you…” His brow furrowed deeper. “What’s wrong with your arm? Are you injured?”

“Huh?” An Nuan followed Lin Xiao Feng’s line of gaze and finally saw the bruise on her arm.

An Nuan was surprised. She did not expect that Pei Zhi Yi’s tight grip on her arm earlier would leave such a mark.
