Chapter 81: A New Dress

“Nuan Nuan, look…”

An Nuan turned around when she heard Ren Di’s voice only to see her friend holding a dark blue dress in her hand.

“I think this is suitable for you,” Ren Di said. “What do you think?”

An Nuan gave the dress a lookover before reaching for it. “Mhm… It looks good.” An Nuan’s gaze fell on the little detail on the skirt. The glitter on the dress made it look like scattered stars on a dark night.

The V neckline was plain.

An Nuan felt that it would look better with a simple necklace.

“Go on.” Ren Di smiled. “You should try it on.”

In a few days, they are heading to Capital City to attend a fashion show. Ren Di wants to look for a suitable dress for the occasion, and An Nuan is tagging along.

An Nuan was not planning to buy a new dress for herself. However, now that she looked at the dress in Ren Di’s hand, An Nuan began to wonder if she should consider buying a new outfit as well.

The dress looked like something that she would wear.

“Nuan Nuan, try it and see if it fits,” Ren Di pointed out. “It’s fine if you don’t buy it. I want to see how you look in this dress.”

An Nuan hesitated briefly before deciding to go into the fitting room and try on the dress Ren Di had picked up for her. The two friends continued to chat while Ren Di waited outside the fitting room.

An Nuan was trying to pull the zip on her right side when she heard Ren Di mentioning a few places that she planned to visit during their trip to Capital City.

She pulled the curtains and looked at Ren Di inquiringly. “Will we have time to visit a lot of places in a short time?”

Ren Di blinked a few times. “Do you think so? Five days is too short? Then, I will have to cancel a few plans.”

An Nuan looked surprised. “We’re staying for five days?”

“Nuan Nuan, weren’t you paying attention?” Ren Di sighed. “I told you the last time that we’re staying for a few more days in Capital City. You agreed.” Her eyes narrowed. “Don’t tell me that you have forgotten?”

An Nuan had indeed forgotten that Ren Di had mentioned this matter a while ago.

She was busy thinking about her scumbag ex.

After knowing that Pei Zhi Yi’s family had asked her family to invest a lot of money in their company, An Nuan began to wonder what else Pei Zhi Yi had done while she was dating him.

An Nuan tried to ask her elder brother and her father. However, both men were not willing to tell her anything.

She could not find the answer she wanted through them and had to think of her past relationship slowly.

An Nuan almost choked on her breath.

The way Ren Di was making her feel guilty.

“Of course, not. I haven’t changed my mind,” An Nuan said. She flashed an assuring smile to Ren Di. “You know that I have been quite free recently. Spending a few more days in the Capital City sounds great. It’s not easy for us to visit Capital City.”

The smile on Ren Di’s lips stretched wider. “Nuan Nuan, have I told you how much I love you?”

An Nuan suppressed the urge to roll her eyes.

Ren Di finally took a step back to take a good look at the dress An Nuan was wearing. “Hey, you look pretty in this dress. The color suits your skin very well.” She walked over and gathered An Nuan’s hair on the left side. Then, Ren Di made An Nuan turn to look in the mirror. “Look, the neckline looks pretty too. It makes your breasts look perky. What do you think?”

An Nuan had to agree that the simple and deep neckline made her breasts look pretty.

“You should get this dress,” Ren Di said.

“You think?”An Nuan raised a brow.

“Miss, this dress definitely suits you well,” the sales assistant who had been standing at the side finally spoke. “The dress is perfect. It looks as if it was tailored for you. See, the material is comfortable to wear as well. The design is suitable to wear on many occasions. If you look closely…” The sales assistant moved closer to touch a spot on An Nuan’s right thigh. “There is a hidden pocket here.”

An Nuan chuckled as she listened to the sales assistant continue to praise her in the dress. “You are very good at trying to convince me to buy this dress.”

The sales assistant stared back at An Nuan with an innocent look in her eyes. “Miss, I am only telling you the truth.”

“Nuan Nuan, listen to the sales assistant. You should buy this dress,” Ren Di said. “Look, if you are not going to buy it, then, I am willing to pay for you.”

An Nuan stared at the reflection in the mirror and touched the skirt.

The more she looked at it, the more she thought that she should get it. “Alright. I have made my decision.” An Nuan heaved a sigh. “I’ll take this dress.”

The sales assistant looked ecstatic.

An Nuan stepped into the fitting room again to take off the dress while Ren Di waited for her.

“Nuan Nuan, while we are in Capital City, you can take the chance to visit your husband as well.”

An Nuan paused when she heard Ren Di’s words.

“I’ve met your husband briefly a few times but we barely had a proper conversation,,” Ren Di continued. “How about asking him to treat me to a meal?”

An Nuan stared at her reflection with a dazed look in her eyes.

She finally remembered that she had not said a word about her visit to Capital City to Lin Xiao Feng.
