Chapter 82: Lin Xiao Feng’s Busy Schedule

Later that night, Lin Xiao Feng called An Nuan as usual.

An Nuan listened to Lin Xiao Feng telling her a bit about his work in Capital City.

In the past, An Nuan did not know much about Lin Xiao Feng’s work, except that he was involved in politics. But after their daily phone call started, An Nuan realized that she had been learning about what Lin Xiao Feng did in Capital City.

Looking at the tired look on Lin Xiao Feng’s face and the list of programs that he had to attend made her feel sorry for that man.

No wonder Lin Xiao Feng did not have time to attend the blind dates that his grandfather wanted him to attend.

Perhaps Lin Xiao Feng himself was aware that he would always be busy with his work. Therefore, he chose to marry her as it would be convenient for him.

If he were to marry a person he likes, that person would have to understand that his job would always be his priority.

There were some days that he could not be around for that person.

When Lin Xiao Feng married her, he made his elders stop urging him to get married fast. At the same time, he did not have to worry too much about his wife.

An Nuan felt that she now understood why Lin Xiao Feng seemed calm when he married her that day.

Of course, Lin Xiao Feng would love to pinch An Nuan to death if he were to know what was going through her mind.

The reason he married her was very different from what she might think.

He has indeed married the person he likes. However, that person was unaware of his feelings for her.

Lin Xiao Feng paused to inhale a deep breath. He has been talking for a while, telling An Nuan about his meeting with a few people.

Initially, Lin Xiao Feng did not think that An Nuan would be interested in listening but hearing a few questions from An Nuan made him glad that she was interested to know more about himself.

“Well then. Enough talking about me,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “What did you do today?”

“Mmm… I guess my day’s activity isn’t as interesting as yours,” An Nuan said. “I went out to accompany Ren Di shopping for a few things.”

“You didn’t buy anything for yourself?” Lin Xiao Feng asked. He wondered if An Nuan would be using the card he gave her at the beginning of their marriage.

An Nuan chuckled. “Mmm… I shopped for a few things as well. That’s right…” An Nuan decided to change their topic as she did not find it interesting to talk about the dress she bought earlier. “I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” The light in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes lit up when he noticed the excited look on his wife’s face.

“Lin Xiao Feng, I am going to Capital City with Ren Di next week.”

“Really?” Lin Xiao Feng could not hide his surprise upon knowing that An Nuan would be visiting soon.

He had always wanted to invite An Nuan to come to Capital City. However, Lin Xiao Feng had never found the perfect excuse for it. He was afraid to hear An Nuan’s rejection if he was to invite her casually.

“Mhmm…” An Nuan nodded. “I forgot to mention this to you the other day. But, Ren Di received an invitation to attend a fashion show. I’m coming as her plus one.” An Nuan flashed an awkward smile. “Ren Di mentioned something about a meal with you.” She let out a cough as she recalled Ren Di’s request. “We are married but I haven’t properly introduced you to my friend, have I?”

“A meal? Of course. I will make an arrangement.” Lin Xiao Feng tried to think of a few places he could take An Nuan and her friend. He was excited to know that An Nuan would be coming to visit her.

“Will you be able to make time?” An Nuan asked. “I know that you are busy. I can always tell Ren Di–”

“An Nuan,” Lin Xiao Feng called her name before An Nuan could finish her words. “I will make time.”

Lin Xiao Feng did not care about the reason An Nuan was coming to Capital City. As long as she comes, he will do his best to make time for her.

“Tell me what sort of dishes you and your friend would like to eat,” Lin Xiao Feng reminded her. “I can look around for a few good places.” He already made plans to ask a few of his friends for a restaurant’s recommendation.

Hopefully, it will help him to gain some pointers with An Nuan.

“Alright.” An Nuan smiled.

“Later, you should give me your flight schedule,” Lin Xiao Feng continued. “Should I pick you up at the airport?”

“It’s alright,” An Nuan quickly declined Lin Xiao Feng’s invitation. “Ren Di has made an arrangement for a transit. The flight should land in Capital City in the afternoon. I think you should be busy with your work. I won’t disturb you. We can meet later for that meal.”

Lin Xiao Feng sighed.

He missed his wife and hoped to meet her soon. However, there were a few things that he could not say out loud, or else, he would scare his wife and cause her to run away.

“That’s right, have you and your friend sorted out your accommodation?” Lin Xiao Feng asked.

An Nuan nodded again. “Ren Di booked a hotel. It’s closer to the venue.”

Lin Xiao Feng was a bit disappointed that he was unable to invite An Nuan and her friend to stay at his place.

The renovation of An Nuan’s room was completed a while ago. Lin Xiao Feng wanted to show An Nuan around but it seemed that this was not a suitable time.

Lin Xiao Feng told himself that it was alright.

He has to take things slow with An Nuan.

Having a meal with An Nuan and her friend during their visit to Capital City is good enough for him.
