Chapter 85: Was She Hallucinating?

After putting on her pretty dress and applying makeup, An Nuan left with Ren Di to attend C.Celine’s fashion show.

The girls dressed up a little bit as they were going to attend a fashion show.

An Nuan took her time to apply her makeup and do her hair.

She wore the dark blue dress she bought the last time she went shopping with Ren Di. To complement her dress, An Nuan put on a star-shaped necklace around her neck.

Ren Di’s friend arrived in front of the hotel to pick them up on time. After ten minutes, they finally arrived at the event. The girls followed Ren Di’s friend and entered the venue.

The fashion show was held at the park in the city center.

A long runway was built in the middle of the large field area, next to the lake. The area was decorated with flowers and lights.

When An Nuan and Ren Di arrived, there was already a huge crowd outside the venue. Fortunately, the event’s management and security were good. It was not difficult for the girls to get inside.

An Nuan looked around the place, wondering if one day she might be able to have her own show. However, she quickly dismissed that thought. These days, she can’t even come up with satisfactory sketches. It might take a long time before she could have her own show.

They soon arrived at their seats.

An Nuan swept her gaze around the venue, hoping that she would see a familiar face. The last time she spoke to Lin Xiao Feng, the man had told her that Li Qin Yao and Zhang Yu Ying would be attending this fashion event as well.

According to Lin Xiao Feng, the owner of C.Celine, Celine Chen was an acquaintance of Zhang Yu Han. The two of them knew each other while they were studying in C Country.

“Nuan Nuan, what are you looking for?” Ren Di asked upon noticing that her friend was looking around.

“Lin Xiao Feng said his friends would be coming to this event as well,” An Nuan said. “I wonder if I will see them later? There are too many people around.”

“You might see them once the situation has calmed down,” Ren Di said.

As the show had not started, the guests were using this time to mingle around and build connections. Ren Di’s purpose in attending this event was to meet some people.

“Nuan Nuan, look.” Ren Di’s eyes lit up as she noticed someone that she knew.

An Nuan followed her friend’s line of gaze and saw a beautiful lady in a black dress walking into the venue with people surrounding her. An Nuan knew that this person was someone famous but she could not remember her name.

“That’s Mu Xiao Xiao.” Ren Di heaved a helpless sigh when she saw the dazed look on An Nuan’s face. “She’s one of the famous actresses under NEXT Entertainment. “We’ve seen her movie, ‘A Better Day’ last year, remember?”

“Oh, so that was her.” An Nuan finally remembered where she had seen this woman.

“God! She’s really beautiful in real life.” Ren Di was starstruck. She took out her phone and snapped a few photos from a distance.

Coincidentally, Mu Xiao Xiao raised her head and smiled at the people around her.

Ren Di squealed as she managed to snap the actress’ smiling face. Fortunately, her phone’s zooming feature was quite good.

Just then, Ren Di spotted another famous figure walking into the venue. “Look, Nuan Nuan, it looks like the big boss of NEXT Entertainment is here as well. Oh! He’s with his wife.”

An Nuan looked at Ren Di curiously, wondering how she knew about these people.

She could understand if Ren Di recognized a popular actress. But, how did her friend identify the big boss of the entertainment company?

Ren Di coughed. “Nuan Nuan, you might not remember this but, a few years ago, the big boss, Lu Xun, made the headlines,” Ren Di whispered. “His crazy ex-girlfriend pestered him and told many lies about him. This crazy lady showed up with a kid, claiming it to be his. Then, the truth came out. It turned out that this lady broke up with him to marry someone else. She divorced that man and wanted to return to Boss Lu. Unfortunately, Boss Lu had met someone better. Hey, the tea was too good.”

An Nuan remembered that Ren Di loved to read interesting gossip on trending topics online. It would not be strange if her friend would know such a story.

An Nuan shot another look at the big boss and his wife before looking away.

Her movement halted.

An Nuan stared at the crowd not too far away from the popular actress and wondered if her eyes were playing tricks on her.

Just now… Wasn’t that Sun Jiao Jiao?

An Nuan tried to look around but could not see that person again.

Her brow furrowed deeper.

“Nuan Nuan, the show is about to start,” Ren Di said as she poked An Nuan on the waist. She then realized that something was wrong with An Nuan’s expression. “What’s wrong?”

An Nuan shook her head. “Nothing. I just thought that I saw someone I knew. Perhaps I was mistaken.”

Ren Di nodded before looking away.

An Nuan retracted her gaze and looked at the stage. The music was blaring and the host had come out. She looked at the crowd again, hoping that she would see Sun Jiao again but could not find the person she was looking for.

Was she hallucinating?

The host welcomed the audience who came to watch the show.

An Nuan shook her head to shake off Sun Jiao from her head.

Who cares if Sun Jiao came to this fashion show? She had no relation with that annoying girl.

Taking a deep breath, An Nuan began to concentrate on the show again. By this time, the music had changed and the models walked out in their pretty outfits.
