Chapter 88: Chaotic

“Ren Di!” Sun Jiao was frustrated with the way Ren Di continued to provoke her.

It was not easy for Sun Jiao to look for An Nuan. Of course, she could not tolerate Ren Di’s words.

Subconsciously, Sun Jiao’s eyes shifted to An Nuan. She expected An Nuan to advise her friend to stop saying unpleasant things. After all, An Nuan would always back down in the past for Pei Zhi Yi’s sake.

This time, it should not be any different, right?

However, Sun Jiao would be disappointed.

An Nuan has no intention of stopping Ren Di from doing anything.

Ren Di was protecting her. Meanwhile, An Nuan no longer has any relationship with Pei Zhi Yi or Sun Jiao.

“An Nuan!” Sun Jiao shot a glare when An Nuan stayed still. “Are you not going to stop your friend? Look at her!” Sun Jiao pointed a finger at Ren Di.

Her attitude made An Nuan chuckle. She had always known that Sun Jiao could be quite childish.

“Yes, I’m looking.” An Nuan smiled as she looked at Ren Di. “Ren Di is beautiful, isn’t she?”

Ren Di laughed out loud upon hearing An Nuan’s words. She was just happy that An Nuan was not doing what Sun Jiao wanted her to do. The frustrated look on Sun Jiao’s face was quite amusing.

“Sun Jiao, I don’t know what sort of game you are playing,” An Nuan said. “I’ve said it once and I’m going to repeat it. Don’t disturb me. I have nothing to do with Pei Zhi Yi anymore. You have done everything to break us up. Now that we are no longer together, why are you still looking for me?”

Sun Jiao hesitated.

She can’t say she wanted An Nuan to help the Pei family with their investment project.

“An Nuan, don’t be like this.” Sun Jiao took a step closer to An Nuan. However, before she could hold An Nuan’s hand, Ren Di was again blocking her path.

Sun Jiao shot another murderous glare at Ren Di. The hostile look on her face disappeared once she turned to An Nuan.

“An Nuan, my brother missed you a lot,” Sun Jiao said. “You haven’t seen him recently… After that wedding day, my brother had lost a lot of weight. He’s not himself. He’s skipping his meals when he cannot see you. An Nuan, don’t you think he’s pitiful? Don’t you miss him as well?”

Her scumbag fiance appeared in her mind.

An Nuan admitted that she did miss Pei Zhi Yi sometimes. What she missed the most was the memories of them together.

However, those memories could not erase her disappointment when Pei Zhi Yi chose to leave on their wedding day.

In the past, she could tolerate Pei Zhi Yi leaving for Sun Jiao.

But not anymore.

That was their wedding day!

Pei Zhi Yi did not think that it was important. Then why should she bother herself with such a man?

If she continues to stay with Pei Zhi Yi, she will never be his priority.

“I don’t,” An Nuan answered after a brief silence. “I don’t miss him at all.”

“I know–” The smile on Sun Jiao’s face faltered. “W-what?” Her brow furrowed. Sun Jiao thought that she might have misheard An Nuan’s words.

“Pei Zhi Yi and I can never go back together,” An Nuan continued. “I don’t know if Pei Zhi Yi has told you yet. But I am married.”

Sun Jiao’s eyes widened in surprise. “What?” She watched as An Nuan raised her hand to show off the ring on her finger.”An Nuan, what are you saying?”

“Sun Jiao, other than having a mental problem, I think you must be deaf.” Ren Di scoffed.

Her words gained another murderous look from Sun Jiao.

“It’s true.” An Nuan chuckled. “I married someone else after Pei Zhi Yi ditched me on my wedding day.” She inhaled a deep breath and smiled. “So, Sun Jiao, you can rest assured. I won’t stand between you and Pei Zhi Yi anymore.”

“That’s impossible.” Sun Jiao looked at An Nuan in disbelief. “How can you marry someone else?”

She knew how much An Nuan liked Pei Zhi Yi and thought that An Nuan was trying to trick her.

“Whether you want to believe it or not is up to you,” An Nuan said. “You can ask Pei Zhi Yi or his parents. They knew about this.”

It took Sun Jiao a while to process An Nuan’s words.

Suddenly, a face appeared in her mind.

The last time she ran into An Nuan at the shopping mall, a handsome man appeared to help An Nuan.

It was someone who Sun Jiao had never seen before.

Was that her husband?

An Nuan stared at Sun Jiao for a while. Then, she tapped her finger on Ren Di’s arm, motioning her to go somewhere else.

The girls turned around to leave.

Sun Jiao snapped out of her thoughts and chased after An Nuan again. She grabbed An Nuan’s arm, forcing her to turn around.

“What the hell are you doing?” Ren Di peeled Sun Jiao’s hand off An Nuan’s and pushed her aside, causing Sun Jiao to stagger backward.

“An Nuan, you can’t leave just like that!” Sun Jiao was determined not to let An Nuan go. Even if An Nuan was with someone else, she still needed An Nuan to help save the Pei family.

The thought of living without money scared her the most.

Sun Jiao could not bear the Pei family’s cold treatment. These past few weeks, she had seen how her adoptive parents were no longer as gentle as they used to be.

With that thought in mind, Sun Jiao once again reached to grab An Nuan.

However, Ren Di had once again blocked her path.

“Sun Jiao, I’m telling you to get lost. Don’t you understand the human language?” Ren Di spat.

“You stay away from me. I need to talk to An Nuan.” Sun Jiao looked at An Nuan again. “An Nuan!”

Ren Di blocked Sun Jiao’s line of gaze and pushed Sun Jiao away before she could approach An Nuan.

“You!” Sun Jiao muttered a few cursing words. She stared at Ren Di angrily. Without thinking straight, Sun Jiao lurched toward Ren Di and tried to pull her hair.

Suddenly, the situation turned chaotic.
