Chapter 89: Police Station

“Officer, I’m telling you that they are the ones who started it first!” Sun Jiao said as she looked at the police officer with a pitiful look in her eyes. “It was that crazy woman who pushed me first.”

“Me?” Ren Di pointed a finger to her nose. “Sun Jiao, don’t lie. If it was not because you tried to attack Nuan Nuan, would I push you away? Officer!” Ren Di turned to the officer again. “I’m sure there’s CCTV over there. You can check the surveillance.”

The officer looked at both Ren Di and Sun Jiao tiredly. “You both shut up for me.”

“Ren Di.” Sun Jiao looked at Ren Di angrily. “I’m going to sue you for my injury.”

Ren Di stood up in excitement. “You think I’m afraid of you? Bring it on!”

The police officer rubbed the space between his brows. Seeing that both Sun Jiao and Ren Di would not be able to shut up, the officer waved a hand to his friend. “Take one of them away before they start to fight again.”

The other officer glanced at both Ren Di and Sun Jiao. In the end, he decided to take Sun Jiao away, seeing that she was not able to keep quiet.

Finally, there was some peace.

The officer on duty shot Ren Di a warning look, telling her that he would take her away if she made trouble.

Ren Di sat up straight. Seeing that the officer was busy taping his fingers on the keyboard, Ren Di leaned towards An Nuan and whispered, “Nuan Nuan, sorry. This is all because of me. If I didn’t fight with that crazy woman, we wouldn’t be sitting here in the police station.”

“It wasn’t your fault.” An Nuan heaved a sigh. She did not expect that they would be taken to the police station.

She would not blame Ren Di for what happened. After all, Ren Di was only trying to protect her.

“If we have to blame someone, of course, it’s Sun Jiao’s fault.” An Nuan glanced at Ren Di and smiled. She placed a hand on Ren Di’s shoulder and pulled her friend into a hug. “Ren Di, thank you.”

“Let’s hope that my friend, Yan Wei will come later,” Ren Di said. “I don’t want to spend my night in a lockup.”

“We will be fine.” An Nuan patted Ren Di’s hand.

Her lips pursed into a line as she thought of Lin Xiao Feng.

She called him earlier but was unable to talk to him.

An Nuan had no other choice but to call Zhang Yu Ying and hoped that her friend would come and bail them out.

“But, what is going on with Sun Jiao?” Ren Di asked. “Has she really gone crazy?”

Ren Di could not figure out what was going on with Sun Jiao. That woman would stop any interaction between An Nuan and Pei Zhi Yi. Hearing that she wanted An Nuan to get back to Pei Zhi Yi sounded very suspicious.

An Nuan raised both shoulders. “Something must have happened. What would Sun Jiao get if Pei Zhi Yi and I get back?”

“Maybe it was Pei Zhi Yi who asked her to look for you?”

An Nuan narrowed her eyes. “There is that possibility.”

Suddenly, An Nuan recalled her conversation with her elder brother not too long ago.

He mentioned that the Pei family was looking for him to discuss their company’s cooperation. However, her family refused to deal with the Pei family again as they no longer have any relation to each other.

Could it be related?

An Nuan was still thinking about Sun Jiao’s abnormalities when she heard the door was pushed open roughly. She raised her head and was surprised to see Lin Xiao Feng standing at the door.

The man was breathing heavily.

An Nuan noticed the man’s reddened face and wondered if it had been running over.

But then, it was a little strange to see Lin Xiao Feng here considering that she could not talk to him earlier.

“Nuan Nuan!” Ren Di whispered. “Isn’t that your husband?”

“Un.” An Nuan nodded.

“An Nuan.” Lin Xiao Feng finally heaved in relief once he was able to see An Nuan in front of him. He walked over to An Nuan’s side and touched the top of her head.

Now that he could touch her, Lin Xiao Feng finally realized that the person in front of him was real. Finally, Lin Xiao Feng was able to heave in relief. “Fortunately, you are safe.”

“Hey, you!” The police officer stood up and pointed his finger at Lin Xiao Feng. “What are you doing here?” His eyes narrowed as he looked at the officer beside the door. “How can you just let anyone in?”

“Hello, officer.” A woman stepped from Lin Xiao Feng’s side and smiled at the officer. She took out a business card from her purse and handed it over to the officer.

The officer’s expression began to change the moment he saw the name on the name card. “This…”

The woman smiled. “Please cooperate with us.” She retracted her gaze and looked at An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng with a frown. Seeing that Lin Xiao Feng’s attention was on An Nuan, the woman looked at the officer again and smiled. “Officer, can we discuss this privately?”

Lin Xiao Feng gave An Nuan a look over. He could not find any injury on An Nuan’s body. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” An Nuan nodded. “You… Why are you here?”

“Sorry. I was not able to answer your phone call earlier. I was in a meeting,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “It was Zhang Yu Han who looked for me.”

Lin Xiao Feng remembered Zhang Yu Han’s words well.

He told him that if he wanted to win his wife’s trust and attention, this was his chance.
