Chapter 94: Do You Want to Come In?

An Nuan took the car keys from her purse. Just as she was about to pass it to Lin Xiao Feng, An Nuan seemed to recall something else. She held the keys tighter and narrowed her eyes at him.

“No. I can’t let you drive,” An Nuan said.

Lin Xiao Feng had a puzzled look as he looked at An Nuan. He could not understand why An Nuan would not let him drive.

“Didn’t you just take your medicine? Lin Xiao Feng, I remember that the pharmacist mentioned that a few of your medicines have a drowsy effect,” An Nuan explained. “I can’t let you drive in this condition. It’s too irresponsible.”

It was then that Lin Xiao Feng remembered the scene at the pharmacist earlier.

The pharmacist had indeed said a few words. But then, he was not listening attentively.

An Nuan was worried that his fever might get worse and asked him to take his medicine in front of her.

He did not think too much and swallowed the pills to make his wife happy. But now, Lin Xiao Feng realized he had made a wrong move. He should take his medicines when he is at home.

How was he supposed to send An Nuan to her hotel when he could not drive?

There was a long silence between the couple when they both realized that it was not proper to let Lin Xiao Feng drive.

An Nuan did not mind calling a driver to send her back to her hotel. But what about Lin Xiao Feng? Should he leave his car at the hospital’s parking area and call a driver as well?

It seemed that this might be the most responsible choice for Lin Xiao Feng.

An Nuan hesitated briefly before speaking again, “Do you think–”

An Nuan frowned as she watched Lin Xiao Feng wiping his nose with his handkerchief.

Lin Xiao Feng’s face was red and An Nuan was worried about him.

“Otherwise, I can drive you home,” An Nuan suggested after a brief silence between them. “If you don’t mind, I will borrow your car for a night. Then maybe you can pick it up from the hotel tomorrow?”

The light in Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes lit up.

A certain someone was just happy that he got to spend his time longer with his wife.

Lin Xiao Feng pretended to ponder over An Nuan’s suggestion.

“Alright.” He nodded. “If it’s not too inconvenient to you.”

“It’s alright. I don’t mind.” An Nuan tightened her grip on the keys before unlocking the car.

Lin Xiao Feng slid into the passenger’s seat and keyed in his address in the GPS. Then, he realized that this would be the first time An Nuan would be visiting his place in Capital City.

Suddenly, Lin Xiao Feng was feeling anxious.

He made a few renovations not too long ago to prepare for the day when An Nuan decided to move in with him.

Now that An Nuan was coming to visit, Lin Xiao Feng was suddenly nervous.

He wondered if An Nuan would like their place.

The area he chose was good but Lin Xiao Feng wondered if it would be to An Nuan’s liking.

“This area looks quite good,” An Nuan commented as she drove into the residential area.

Lin Xiao Feng snapped out of his thoughts and looked out the window. Then, he realized that they were approaching his building soon. Lin Xiao Feng looked at the houses around the area and nodded. “Hmm… It was Zhang Yu Han’s wife who suggested this area to me. You know… she was from Capital City. Her family is in property and development. If you want to look for a property, you should ask Yu Han’s wife for advice.”

While looking at the houses around them, the GPS finally announced that they had arrived at their destination.

An Nuan pulled over the car into the parking area and looked at the building in front of her.

The house was big but it was too dark. Other than the light in the porch area, An Nuan could not see the light turned on.

“This is your place?” An Nuan asked as she glanced at Lin Xiao Feng.

“Hmm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded while looking at An Nuan anxiously.

“It’s pretty big.”

“It’s okay.” Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips. He hesitated briefly before continuing, “Do you want to go in and take a look?”

An Nuan was about to reject Lin Xiao Feng’s invitation when her eyes fell on the house again.

She wondered if Lin Xiao Feng would be alright staying alone with his condition.

An Nuan was imagining Lin Xiao Feng passing out because of his fever. The thought made her worry about leaving this man alone.

If something was to happen to him, then, she would be the last person to see him.

“You live alone?” An Nuan asked. “There’s no staff around?”

“Mhm…” Lin Xiao Feng nodded. He paused briefly to stifle a yawn. “An older auntie will come over in the morning to tidy up the place and cook. But she will leave in the evening.”

After taking his medicine, Lin Xiao Feng was indeed drowsy. However, he was fighting his sleepiness with An Nuan beside him.

An Nuan tightened her grip on the steering wheel before taking a deep breath. “Let’s go in.” She decided that she should watch Lin Xiao Feng for a bit before she left. Otherwise, she would not be at ease.

“Since I’m already here, I should come in to take a look,” An Nuan said, She glanced at the clock and sighed. “Anyway, it’s not too late to return to the hotel later. The place where I’m staying isn’t that far from here.”

An Nuan reminded herself to text Ren Di that she might return to the hotel a little later.

Lin Xiao Feng watched as An Nuan alighted from the car.

He found it hard to believe that An Nuan would agree to come in.
