Chapter 97: Lin Xiao Feng’s Sleeping Figure

An Nuan chatted with her mother and found out that Sun Jiao had called home. She hoped they would send someone to take her out of the police station. However, Y City was too far away.

Hearing that An Nuan was also in Y City, Mother Pei wanted to look for An Nuan, hoping she would help Sun Jiao.

However, An Nuan had long changed her number. Her family members had blocked Pei Zhi Yi and his family members.

Having no choice, Mother Pei headed to the An family’s house to look for Shi Xi.

As she was blocked from entering the residential area, Mother Pei had no choice but to wait at the guard area. Coincidentally, Shi Xi and her husband had just returned from an event.

Mother Pei jumped out from the guard house, blocking their car.

If it was not for the driver’s reflex, there might be an accident.

“Mom, did you promise Pei Zhi Yi’s mother that I would help Sun Jiao?” An Nuan asked after listening to her mother.

“Of course, not.” Shi Xi scoffed. “Am I crazy? Why would I promise that woman anything?” She inhaled a deep breath to calm down. “Your father and I have to ask the security to drive that woman away. Otherwise, she will continue to block our path. Anyway, let’s not worry about that woman. Nuan Nuan, are you really okay?”

An Nuan’s expression turned softer, knowing that her mother was concerned about her.

“Mom, I’m fine,” An Nuan spoke in an assuring tone. “Fortunately, Lin Xiao Feng was around. He helped me to solve the matter at the police station and I was allowed to go back.”

“Mmm… Fortunately, Xiao Feng is in Capital City.”

If Lin Xiao Feng was not around, then, her daughter would have to stay for a night in the police station. Just thinking of it gave Shi Xi a heartache.

“Then Nuan Nuan, are you at Xiao Feng’s place right now?” Shi Xi remembered seeing the kitchen cabinet behind her daughter. She tried to look at her daughter’s background but could not see anything much.

“Mhm…” An Nuan paused as she recalled the reason she was at Lin Xiao Feng’s place.

She probably should not mention that Lin Xiao Feng was not feeling well. It would only make her mother worry.

“Lin Xiao Feng invited me to look at his place since I am here in Capital City,” An Nuan said.

“That’s good.” Shi Xi smiled. “Nuan Nuan, you have to learn to get along with Xiao Feng. After all, he is now your husband.”

“Mom, I know.”

Shi Xi heaved a sigh. She knew that she should not say too many words to her daughter regarding her marriage.

“How is his house?” Shi Xi tried to change the topic. “Is it big?”

“Well, it’s big and well-decorated.” An Nuan chuckled. “The interior designer had done a good job decorating this place.”

An Nuan was surprised that Lin Xiao Feng would decorate the place beautifully when he lived alone.

The mother and daughter chatted for a while before they ended the phone call. Knowing that her daughter was safe and sound, Shi Xi was no longer worried. Moreover, An Nuan was with Lin Xiao Feng now.

An Nuan heaved a long sigh as she put down her phone.

Her brow furrowed as she thought about the Pei family again.

It seemed that the Pei family would not stop disturbing her family even after she ended her relationship with Pei Zhi Yi.

An Nuan was mostly annoyed that the Pei family would come to look for her family members.

She had not realized it when she was still in a relationship with Pei Zhi Yi. But now, An Nuan came to realize that Pei Zhi Yi’s family was quite shameless.

Mother Pei knew that Sun Jiao was the reason she broke up with Pei Zhi Yi.

“Lin Xiao Feng?” She called his name softly. When she arrived at his side, An Nuan realized that Lin Xiao Feng had fallen asleep.

He had one arm covering his eyes to block the light.

An Nuan’s face softened as she watched Lin Xiao Feng’s sleeping figure.

She wanted to wake him up but recalled that Lin Xiao Feng had taken some medicine earlier.

He probably fell asleep as he could no longer fight his drowsiness while she was talking to her mother.

Lin Xiao Feng should have rested earlier but this man was fighting his sleepiness because she was around.

An Nuan walked closer and hesitated. She placed a hand on Lin Xiao Feng’s forehead and frowned as she detected the slight warmth. It seemed that his fever had not gone down.

She was planning to leave quietly after checking on Lin Xiao Feng but now, An Nuan was worried about leaving this man alone at home.

Her lips pursed into a thin line.

Just then, something that Lin Xiao Feng said resounded in her ear.

She should consider this place as her home.
