Chapter 98: Decided to Stay

An Nuan picked up her phone again and texted Ren Di to tell her friend that she would not be coming back to the hotel. Then, she set her phone to silent mode before looking at Lin Xiao Feng again.

In the end, she did not have the heart to leave Lin Xiao Feng alone when he was not feeling well.

This man had rushed over to the police station for her even though he was busy and sick.

Leaving now would make her feel that she was a heartless person.

Since he was not feeling well, An Nuan decided that it was better to look for him.

An Nuan swept her gaze around the place and wondered if it would be all right for her to look around.

Lin Xiao Feng was asleep and she would feel as if she was invading his privacy if she were to walk around without the man accompanying her.

In the end, An Nuan decided to walk around the floor.

Ten minutes later, An Nuan returned to the living room again with a damp towel in her hand. She went through the cabinet in the bathroom and found a few clean towels. She figured that she had to do something to help bring down Lin Xiao Feng’s fever.

An Nuan removed the arm that was covering his eyes. Then, she placed the damp towel on Lin Xiao Feng’s head cautiously, worried that he might wake up.

Lin Xiao Feng frowned as the towel touched his skin. Fortunately, he did not wake up.

An Nuan swept her gaze around the room again and saw the man’s coat hung on the chair. She picked it up and covered Lin Xiao Feng’s body so that he would not get cold.

Then, An Nuan sat on the one-seater sofa while facing Lin Xiao Feng.

Lin Xiao Feng stirred in his sleep.

His parched throat was telling him to wake up and drink something.

He opened his eyes slowly and was stunned to see that he was in the living room.

The memory from that night came to his mind.

Lin Xiao Feng remembered going to the police station to pick up his wife and then, An Nuan convinced him to go to the hospital when she noticed that he was not feeling well.

An Nuan was supposed to return to her hotel but Lin Xiao Feng took her home.

As the thought came to his mind, Lin Xiao Feng sat up almost immediately.

He wondered if An Nuan had left without saying a word to him. Then, something fell on his lap.

Lin Xiao Feng picked up the damp towel from his lap and wondered why it fell on him.

He raised his head and paused when he saw An Nuan sitting on the one-seater sofa across from him.

She was still in the dark blue dress she wore last night.

Her head rested on the armrest while his legs dangled on the other side.

Lin Xiao Feng’s eyes fell on the damp towel in his hand again.

His expression turned softer when he realized that An Nuan had stayed around to look after him.

Lin Xiao Feng watched the sleeping An Nuan for a while and thought that her sleeping posture looked uncomfortable.

After a brief hesitation, Lin Xiao Feng tiptoed to An Nuan’s side.

Seeing that she was deep in her sleep, Lin Xiao Feng decided to carry her in his arms and let her occupy his spot on the large sofa instead. His move was gentle. An Nuan did not wake up or notice that someone was carrying her.

Then, Lin Xiao Feng went upstairs to get a blanket to cover An Nuan’s body.

Lin Xiao Feng knew that he was supposed to wake An Nuan up. But then, it was too late and he did hope that An Nuan would stay around the house for a while longer.

Moreover, An Nuan should be tired after all the excitement last night.

Lin Xiao Feng reached for his phone on the coffee table and saw a few messages from Zhang Yu Han.

Last night, the person who informed him about An Nuan’s situation was Zhang Yu Han.

Lin Xiao Feng updated Zhang Yu Han about the situation and thanked his friend for his help.

As he recalled his conversation with An Nuan last night, Lin Xiao Feng went to a quiet corner and made a phone call to Su Ming Yuan. Their conversation naturally involved the Pei family who continued to pester An Nuan.

Lin Xiao Feng felt that he had been kind enough to let Pei’s business suffer a little bit. But seeing that their family had not learned their lessons, perhaps they should pressure them a little more.

“Xiao Feng, are you saying that you want to end the SP Group?” Su Ming Yuan asked after listening to Lin Xiao Feng’s instructions for a bit. “Hey, it’s about time.”

“Don’t do anything illegal.”

Su Ming Yuan chuckled. “When did I ever do anything illegal? Don’t worry that much. Look, my grandfather would cut my leg if I ever did anything illegal.”

Lin Xiao Feng pursed his lips. Even though he had told Su Ming Yuan to help him cause more trouble for the Pei family, Lin Xiao Feng felt that it was not enough.

“Wait. Let’s not end them that quickly,” Lin Xiao Feng said.

“Lin Xiao Feng, don’t tell me that you have changed your mind?” Su Ming Yuan was surprised.

“It would be too easy to let them go just like that,” Lin Xiao Feng said. “Ah Yuan, let’s make them feel as if they have hope at the beginning. Then, you can crush them until they decide to leave the city.”

The light in Su Ming Yuan’s eyes lit up and the corner of his lips curled. He was glad that Lin Xiao Feng decided to be merciless towards the Pei family.
