Chapter 99: Everything was Prepared for Her

The sound from the kitchen stirred An Nuan from her sleep. She opened her eyes slowly only to smell the scent of something delicious. An Nuan sat up with a jolt as she recalled that she was supposed to look after a sick person.

However, she then realized that the person who was lying on the sofa last night was no longer around. An Nuan looked confused when she realized that she was the one sitting on the sofa instead. There was a blanket covering her body.

What happened?

She remembered sitting on that one-seater last night as she watched over Lin Xiao Feng…

Did Lin Xiao Feng wake up early and carry her over?

An Nuan felt that this explanation sounded possible.

But where is he? What about his fever?

She swept her gaze around the place and noticed that the sky had turned bright.

An Nuan reached for her phone and saw a few texts from Ren Di, asking if she was going to return to the hotel soon.

Last night, An Nuan told Ren Di that she planned to stay the night at Lin Xiao Feng’s place as the man was unwell. An Nuan told her friend that she was going to return before the sky turned bright but it seemed that she had overslept.

An Nuan told Ren Di that she was going to return later.

As for the meal that they planned to have with Lin Xiao Feng later… An Nuan was unsure if Lin Xiao Feng would still be able to go out. If Lin Xiao Feng is still unwell, they have to postpone their meal to another date.

An Nuan put down her phone after texting Ren Di. She looked in the kitchen’s direction and thought of looking for Lin Xiao Feng to ask for a phone charger.

However, as she walked into the kitchen, An Nuan was surprised to see that the person who stood behind the stove was not Lin Xiao Feng but an older auntie.

An Nuan stood at the entrance with a dazed look on her face

Noticing her sudden appearance, the older lady turned around.

“Young Madam.” The older woman flashed a smile. She turned off the stove before walking over to An Nuan’s side. “You’re awake. Breakfast should be ready soon.”

An Nuan snapped out of her thoughts. “You are…”

“Right. I forgot to introduce myself. Young Madam, you can call me Auntie Yu. I am the housekeeper that Young Master Lin hired.,” Auntie Yu said. “I usually come in the morning to prepare some meals and tidy up the house a little bit.”

It was then that An Nuan remembered Lin Xiao Feng had mentioned an auntie who came in the morning to tidy up his place.

“Hello, Auntie Yu.” An Nuan greeted the older woman politely. “You know who I am?”

“Of course.” Auntie Yu nodded. “Young Master had shown me your photo previously. Young Madam, I was surprised when Young Master announced that he was married a month ago after returning from Y City.”

An Nuan looked embarrassed. Although she did not find it strange for Lin Xiao Feng to tell the older woman about her existence, An Nuan did not expect that Lin Xiao Feng would show her photo.

“Young Madam, I did not expect that you would be coming home this week,” Auntie Yu said. “Otherwise, I would prepare something special.”

“There’s no need to do that. I am not picky with food.” She looked around and asked, “Where’s Lin–” Her words halted as she recalled her relationship with Lin Xiao Feng. “Um… My husband. Have he left for his office?”

“Young Master is upstairs,” Auntie Yu said. “He should be washing up. He will come down for breakfast in a while.”

Auntie Yu’s lips turned up as she remembered the scene she had witnessed the moment she stepped into the house early that morning.

Lin Xiao Feng sat on the sofa and warned her not to make too much noise as An Nuan was sleeping.

Before Auntie Yu headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, Lin Xiao Feng told Auntie Yu what she could do when An Nuan woke up.

“Young Madam, would you like to go to your room to wash up?” Auntie Yu said. “Young Master had prepared a room for you to use.” Realizing that this was the first time that An Nuan had visited home, Auntie Yu then continued, “Young Madam, if you don’t mind, why don’t you come with me? I will show you around the place.”

An Nuan hesitated. But then, she needed to wash her face and use the bathroom. “Auntie Yu, please show me the way.”

Auntie Yu led An Nuan to the second floor and showed her around the place.

There was Lin Xiao Feng’s study and gym.

Auntie Yu finally stopped as they reached the end of the hallway. “Young Madam, that one is the Young Master’s room.” She pointed at the door across them. Then, Auntie Yu pointed at the door closest to them. “You can use this room.” She turned the doorknob and pushed the door open. “Young Madam, you can find everything you need in here.”

An Nuan peeked into the room cautiously before stepping in.

A glint of surprise flashed in her eyes when she saw the room.

An Nuan thought that the room’s decoration was quite similar to her bedroom in Y City. However, this room was bigger than her bedroom. She was surprised that Lin Xiao Feng would know her taste. But then again, An Nuan realized that Lin Xiao Feng had been to her bedroom before.

“Young Madam, this is the bathroom,” Auntie Yu said as she stood in front of a door. She pushed the door to let An Nuan peeked inside. “The toiletries are new. You can use them.” She moved to the side and pulled the wardrobe. “If you need to change, you can wear the clothes here. Young Madam, these are all prepared for you.”

An Nuan stared at the clothes hung inside the wardrobe with a dazed look on her face. She was not expecting that everything was prepared for her.
