Chapter 111: 111 – They Don’t Know!
“Thanks.”
Devin mumbled with a smile as soon as he saw Raye approaching him and Lena.
“It’s not like I did it for you.”
Raye said with a shrug on his shoulders.
(He did it for him.)
“Yeah, sure.”
Lycus muttered, walking behind Raye.
“Nobody believes you.”
And then he added.
“What?”
Raye asked, then he looked at Lena.
“Yep.”
Lena simply replied, agreeing with Lycus’ words.
And hearing that…
“Whatever.”
Raye just whispered that under his breath.
Moving on…
“Anyway… Thanks, Devin.”
Lycus suddenly muttered that.
“Hmm?”
Devin looked at him, confused.
But Lena and Raye already knew why Lycus was thanking him.
‘Sofia is in B-Class. Devin knows that, and he also knows how special she is to Lycus. I’m pretty sure when he heard those bastards would go after them if they declined the challenge, Devin accepted it to protect not just Sofia but his former classmates as well.’
Raye said in his head.
And just then…
“Ah.”
Devin realized why Lycus was thanking him.
“It’s nothing big.”
He said with a genuine smile on his face.

“…”
And looking at him in silence…
“How’s your body?”
Raye asked Devin that.
“Hmm, I’m good now. Thanks to Lena.”
Devin responded.
“Your mana?”
Raye followed.
And with an awkward smile on his face…
“Oh, I can use it now.”
Devin replied, he was avoiding eye contact.
“…”
Lycus and Raye noticed this.
‘He’s hiding something.’
They thought.
“What happened?”
Lycus asked that.
“Nothing, really.”
Devin still didn’t say anything, just casually waving his hand, brushing the question off.
But then…
“His overall mana capacity shrunk.”
Lena suddenly spoke.
And hearing her words…
“Huh?”
Raye and Lycus turned to her.
“What do you mean by that?”
Raye asked.
“Wait, it’s nothing!”
Devin exclaimed.
But Raye and Lycus just frowned at him.
“Lena.”
Lycus muttered.
And after nodding her head…
“I felt it when I was healing his bruises and wounds… His mana was all over the place, and an unnatural amount of excess mana was leaking out of his body. It’s a sign of his mana capacity shrinking.”
Lena explained that!
“…”
Raye and Lycus were speechless after hearing that. The frowns on their faces deepened.
“It’s nothing big, really. I barely feel a difference.”
Devin said with an awkward laugh.
(He’s lying. He can definitely feel it.)
“I just don’t want to worry you guys, haha.”
He added with an another fake laugh.
“…”
Raye looked at him.
And opening his mouth…
“I’ll beat the shit out of them.”
He declared that.
“What?”
Devin asked, surprised.
“At the competition… I’ll completely destroy them.”
Then Raye answered!
“They crossed the line.”
Lycus then muttered, he’s seething in rage.
And it’s not just them two…
“…”
Lena too! She was frowning slightly, annoyed!
Everyone in the [S Class] heard what happened to Devin. And even though they don’t know him…
“Those bastards…”
Just the fact that they’re from the same academy was enough to make them angry for him too!
And so, just like that…
‘Bring it on. We’ll destroy you.’
Everyone in the [S Class] silently agreed to do their best and obliterate the other academies in the upcoming competition!
And while that was all happening…
“Devin.”
Raye called out to Devin.
“…?”
Devin just looked at him, curious.
Then with a serious expression on his face…
“You would surely win against all of them if they didn’t do something to your body.”
Raye declared that!
“…”
Devin was silent.
“Haha, is that so?”
And then he laughed and asked that.
“Mhm.”
Raye simply nodded his head as a reply.
And seeing that…
“Thanks, Raye.”
Devin mumbled, smiling and looking up at the ceiling.
‘I should train some more.’
He thought to himself.
*****
This incident with the students from the other academies quickly spread throughout the Zion Academy.
How they put something in the drinks of [A Class]’s students… And how Raye singlehandedly put them in their places!
The students of Zion were enraged when they heard what happened to the students of [A Class] sophomores.
That’s right, it’s not just Devin—everyone who drank the drinks given by the students from the other academies had their mana capacity shrunken!
Everyone protested for the students involved to be punished!
But unfortunately…
There was no evidence that the other academies did this.
The bodies of [A Class]’s students were scanned and examined… But there were no signs of them being drugged or whatnot!
And because of this…
The students from the other academies got away scot-free!
This pissed off every student in Zion, but they knew they couldn’t do anything about it.
And so…
They left everything to the people that would fight the other academies in the upcoming competition!
‘Destroy them!’
The students of Zion thought in unison.
…
A few days after that incident too…
“Ugh.”
Raye got called to the headmaster’s office.
And currently…
“I’m still sleepy.”
Tap- tap- tap—
He’s on his way there!
*****
Not long after…
Tap—
Raye reached his destination.
And standing in front of the door of the headmaster’s office…
“I’m here, headmaster.”
Raye said that.
“Come on in.”
He heard a reply from Bryan from the inside.
And after that…
Creak—
Tap—
Raye opened the door and entered the room.
“Hello.”
He greeted as soon as he came in.
“Hello, Raye.”
Then Bryan greeted back.
“Sit down.”
He said.
“Mhm.”
And Raye silently complied.
“I heard what happened.”
Bryan said as soon as Raye was seated.
“…”
Raye didn’t say anything.
“What about our plan to make you our secret weapon?”
Bryan asked, looking at Raye.
And with a shrug…
“It’s still going to happen.”
Raye declared that.
“How so?”
Bryan muttered.
Raye looked at him, then, opening his mouth…
“I’m in S-Class. They were probably already expecting me to be somewhat strong even though they haven’t heard of me. And with what I did a few days ago, they’ll be able to confirm that assumption, but I didn’t even use half of my strength. Heck… I didn’t even use a skill.”
“So, when they think they already know how strong I am, I’ll show my full strength and surprise them even more. After all, it’s more surprising if you think you know something and it turns out you actually don’t, right?”
He explained calmly.
“…”
Bryan remained silent.
But after a while…
“Hahaha—”
He started laughing.
“You’re good.”
Bryan said while tearing up a little and with a mischievous smile on his face.
