Chapter 85: 85 – The Results

-Hmm, that was the fastest flash step I’ve seen you do.

Zephyrus said, flying toward Raye and the Old Man.

“Well, I was panicking…”

Raye awkwardly responded.

And after that…

“Thanks.”

Old Man Rey approached and suddenly said that!

“…”

Raye looked at the Old Man.

Then while smiling…

“Meh, it’s nothing.”

He just shrugged and replied.

Though, he’s really glad Old Man Rey was safe.

Anyway…

-Meep!

Raye heard Pyro.

“Hmm?”

But he can’t see any slime around.

‘Where is he?’

Raye asked in his head, looking around.

And then…

-Up here, Human.

Zephyrus spoke.

“Huh?”

Raye looked up at him.

And there…

“?!”

He saw Pyro flying beside Zephyrus!

“Wha…?”

Raye was surprised seeing him.

After all, Pyro is not a slime anymore!

His whole body is now made of fire!

And Raye immediately know that Pyro had evolved now!

“Ah yeah, he turned like that just a while ago after he woke up.”

Old Man Rey casually said.

-Meep meep meep!

And then Pyro chirped as he happily and proudly flew around Raye.

Looking at him…

“Haha, congrats Pyro!”

Raye said that, feeling proud amd happy for Pyro.

-Meep!

Anyway, not long after…

Raye, Old Man Rey, Zephyrus, and Pyro started heading back to the cabin.

On their way back…

The Old Man started telling Raye what happened.

Apparently, after Pyro evolved…

He woke up feeling hungry.

Old Man Rey knows that he feeds on Raye’s mana.

But because Raye wasn’t there…

He decided to catch fish from the nearby river to feed Pyro.

Every living being has mana residing within them, so the old man figured that feeding Pyro a live fish might lessen his hunger.

This actually works, but the spirits would be hungry again just a few minutes later.

Anyway, with that…

Old Man Rey and Pyro headed to the nearby river.

But when they got there…

They saw the mutated bear catching a bunch of fish with its bare hands!

(Not pun intended.)

Its eyes landed on them…

And then the mutated bear started chasing The Old Man!

Old Man Rey, only having a fishing rod with him, tried his best to run away!

But after a while…

He tripped and fell on the ground!

The bear reached him not long after, and it tried charging at him!

Though…

Pyro fought it off for a while, protecting The Old Man!

He started firing a bunch of fire arrows to the mutated bear!

But because he’s low on mana…

Pyro’s attacks didn’t do much damage!

And his mana hit rock bottom only after about 10 shots!

Luckily…

Raye appeared at that moment and killed the bear in a flash!

“Hmm, so I was just on time, huh.”

Raye mumbled after hearing the whole story.

Swoosh—

Then he started imbuing mana to Pyro.

-Meep!

Pyro is rested on top of his right shoulder.

‘It’s amazing how he doesn’t burn anything he touches, even though he’s literally made of fire.’

Raye thought, looking at him.

Anyway…

“Yeah, I thought I was gonna die. I should’ve bought my spear or even the bow.”

The Old Man replied to Raye.

“Start bringing at least a machete or an axe with you all of the time in case something like this happens again.”

Raye said.

And seeing how worried he is…

“Okay.”

Old Man Rey simply agreed.

This made Raye sigh in relief.

But then…

“…”

Tap- tap- tap—

He suddenly looked up in the sky and frowned.

‘The serious part of the story is starting, I need to get ready.’

And then he thought of that!

Raye’s face was all serious, and nervousness was filling up his body!

Everything that has happened until now…

It’s all just the beginning!

The easy part of the game!

-Old Man, what did you cook for lunch?

“Roasted deer meat.”

-Sweet!

Raye and the others got back in the cabin not long after.

They also hunted 3 rabbits on their way back.

With Raye’s speed, it was a piece of cake.

Anyway, Old Man Rey made a rabbit stew with it.

And after that…

“Let’s eat.”

“Thanks for the food.”

-I want that part of the roasted deer meat!

-Meep!

The four of them ate lunch together.

After that…

Raye’s day continued normally.

He just rested and only trained the sword techniques Ivan taught him for a bit.

He’s still worried about the upcoming game scenarios, but Raye can’t do anything about it right now, so he didn’t dwell on it.

And so like that…

The day ended.

Raye, Lena, Devin, Lycus, and Sofia all came to watch the second part of the sophomores’ physical examination.

Zephyrus and Pyro were with them.

They all came to cheer for Jerusha…

She was so excited about it.

Pyro proudly chirped, circling around Raye.

‘Cute.’

And then Lena thought of that, looking at him.

“He’s not a smile anymore, huh.”

Devin mumbled to himself.

“Still small and cute though.”

Then Lycus followed.

Sofia was just following Pyro with her eyes, she was shaking… She wants to grab Pyro and pinch his cheeks!

‘No, that’d be rude, I need to control myself.’

Sofia thought.

And just then…

“Jerusha Amethyst.”

Sariel called for Jerusha.

And without beating around the bush…

“I’ll be right back!”

Jerusha stood up and exclaimed that.

“Good luck!”

Raye and the others responded to her.

And not long, Jerusha’s match started!

Though…

BOOM—!

She won her fight easily, ending it the second it started!

‘Bruh.’

Raye was feeling sorry for her opponent.

“Bye, see you all later!”

Everyone separated after the sophomores’ physical examination ended.

Raye immediately headed back to the cabin.

He ate with the old man and trained all day.

Nothing much really happened…

And so does in the next two days!

Raye has no interest in watching the Tertiaries’ Class Re-evaluation Exams..

There are important characters in that year…

But he doesn’t really care.

‘They’re important to the story, not to me.’

Raye thought.

So for two days…

He was focused on training, studying, repairing the cabin, and helping Old Man Rey with the chores.

Raye also continued his private learning sessions about spirit magic with Jerusha in the Northern Forest.

Sunday arrived.

And the result of the Class Re-evaluation Exam came out.

Raye is currently at the entrance of Xapham Hall.

The area was packed with people.

Raye just stood at the back, away from the crowd.

He’s waiting for the number of people to go down.

-Want me to just fly over there and see what you got?

Zephyrus asked, sitting on top of his head.

And Raye immediately replied.

“Don’t take the excitement out of it, I want to see it myself.”

He added.

-‘Humans are really weird sometimes.’

Zephyrus thought, hearing his response.

-Meep meep!

Pyro was just flying around, he’s clearly having a lot more fun ever since he got the ability to fly.

Moving on…

“…”

As Raye was silently waiting for the crowd to dwindle in number.

“Yo!”

Devin spotted him.

“Oh, hello.”

Raye greeted.

“You’ve seen what class you’re in?”

And then Devin asked, approaching him.

“Not yet, I don’t want to squeeze in the crowd.”

Raye said.

“How about you?”

Then he asked back.

“I haven’t seen mine yet either, I just got here.”

Devin said, looking at the crowd.

“Mind if I wait here with you?”

He asked.

“You don’t need to ask me, feel free to.”

Raye replied with a shrug.

“Sweet.”

And with that, the two of them silently waited for the other students to leave.

They’re not in a hurry, after all.

Raye and Devin waited for a while…

“Hi guys!”

“Hello.”

Lycus and Sofia joined them later too.

They didn’t see Jerusha nor Lena around.

But that’s not really a surprise to them…

After all, those two are certainly in the [S Class]!

No need to check.

Even Leon and Allen are not here, that’s how confident they are!

And so…

‘Why is Raye here?’

Sofia, Lycus, and Devin are wondering about that!

For someone who did well in the Class Re-evaluation Exams, defeated an [S Class] student, and received a scholarship directly from the headmaster…
