Chapter 133: Lost Somewhere
Ahcehera had barely taken a step forward when an unseen force suddenly wrapped around her, like invisible tendrils pulling her into the unknown.
A vortex of swirling black and violet light burst open beneath her feet, sucking her downward before she could even cry out.
Richard and Richmond reached out, their hands just inches away from grabbing her, but the portal sealed shut in an instant.
She was gone.
Ahcehera’s body tumbled through a tunnel of shimmering light. Gravity twisted, pulling her in multiple directions at once.
Her breath caught in her throat, and her stomach lurched. It was like falling and flying at the same time, her body weightless yet dragged through the unseen fabric of space.
The portal distorted time, stretching moments into eternity before finally spitting her out.
She crashed onto the ground, her limbs sinking into something unexpectedly soft. Warmth wrapped around her as the scent of salt and fresh foliage filled her senses.
Coughing slightly, she pushed herself up and blinked against the golden sunlight. A vast, endless shore stretched before her, waves lapping gently at the sand.
The grains beneath her fingers were as fine as powder, glistening like crushed pearls.
The water before her was crystal clear, a deep blue that lightened near the edges, shimmering under the golden sky.
Slowly, she sat up, her head pounding as she tried to gather her bearings. Her optical brain flashed red, unable to connect with any network.
She tapped it twice, but the signal remained dead.
She frowned.
Where was she?
Her gaze swept across the landscape. Tall, unfamiliar trees with thick canopies of silver and emerald leaves dotted the island.
They swayed gently, though there was no wind. In the distance, jagged cliffs loomed over the horizon, their peaks disappearing into mist.
Ahcehera inhaled deeply, the air rich with an intoxicating freshness, but something felt… off.
Her fingers dug into the sand, grounding herself. The warmth beneath her palms was real, the scent of the sea unmistakable, but was this reality?
She tried to recall if she had ever read about a place like this.
It reminded her of Planet Cazumi, a lush, vibrant world with a similar color palette, but Cazumi was diverse with its resources.
There were different creatures, and life teeming in every corner.
This place, however, was eerily silent.
No birds.
No people.
No movement aside from the gentle waves.
It was beautiful. But in its beauty, there was something unsettling.
Ahcehera rose to her feet, dusting off the sand clinging to her uniform. Her boots barely left imprints on the pristine shore.
She turned her wrist, attempting to send a distress signal from her optical brain, but the error screen only flickered again.
She was completely cut off.

She clenched her jaw. There had to be a way out.
Walking toward the treeline, she noted how the plants seemed untouched, their colors almost too vivid, too perfect.
She reached out to touch a low-hanging leaf, its texture velvety smooth under her fingertips.
The moment she made contact, the air shifted.
A whisper.
It wasn’t in words, nor was it a sound she could properly describe. It was as if the world itself had sighed, acknowledging her presence.
She pulled her hand back instantly, every instinct in her body screaming at her to stay alert.
“Alright,” she murmured to herself, scanning the environment. “Let’s see if there’s anything useful here.”
She moved carefully, her boots making no sound against the damp ground as she ventured deeper into the forest.
The further she walked, the more unnatural the surroundings felt. The trees were spaced too evenly, their trunks eerily straight.
The flowers bloomed in perfect symmetry, as though arranged by an unseen hand. Even the scent in the air was unnatural, too fresh, too intoxicating.
Ahcehera reached into her belt and pulled out a small, retractable dagger. It wasn’t much, but it was better than being unarmed.
She pressed on.
Then she heard it.
A faint hum, barely above a whisper, vibrating through the ground. It wasn’t coming from the ocean or the trees.
It was something deeper, resonating within the very core of the island itself.
A pulse.
She paused, tilting her head.
It came again.
A slow, rhythmic pulse, like the heartbeat of something enormous slumbering beneath her feet.
Her grip tightened on the dagger.
Whatever this place was, she wasn’t alone.
She scanned her surroundings once more, her muscles tensing. If there was something here, she needed to find it before it found her.
Following the sound, she pushed deeper into the woods, moving swiftly but carefully. The further she went, the more the landscape seemed to shift.
The trees became denser, their branches curling toward her as if they were watching. The path beneath her feet narrowed, leading to a clearing where a single structure stood.
A temple.
It was ancient, covered in vines, and bathed in golden light. Its entrance was tall and imposing, with intricate carvings depicting swirling galaxies and celestial beings.
Ahcehera hesitated for only a moment before stepping forward.
The hum grew louder.
She placed a hand against the stone, feeling the cool surface beneath her fingers.
The moment she made contact, the ground beneath her trembled.
She stumbled backward as the doors groaned, slowly parting open. A rush of warm air escaped, carrying with it the scent of something ancient.
A force pulled at her, invisible but undeniable.
Her pulse quickened.
She was meant to enter.
Swallowing her hesitation, Ahcehera stepped inside.
The air was thick with power, an energy she couldn’t quite define. The walls were lined with glowing symbols, shifting and rearranging themselves as if alive.
In the center of the room stood a pedestal, and upon it, a small, crystalline orb.
It pulsed with the same rhythm she had felt beneath her feet.
Ahcehera approached cautiously, her fingers hovering just above the surface of the orb.
The hum turned into a whisper.
Then a voice.
“Welcome, daughter of Sirius.”
Her breath hitched.
The room darkened.
And then, everything changed.
