Chapter 170: Secrets after Secrets (Special Chapter)
Dan had never paid much attention to the castle gardens. It was a place of silence and solitude, a space Tereza often claimed as her own.
But on one quiet evening, as Dan paced the halls unable to sleep, a faint glow flickered from beyond the windows.
The light shimmered like a thousand fireflies trapped beneath glass, pulsing gently in the dark. Curious, Dan stepped outside.
The air was colder than he expected, crisp and heavy with the scent of wet earth. The faint glow drew him deeper into the garden.
Vines twisted like veins across the stone walls, their leaves dusted with frost. He followed the light until he reached the heart of the garden, a forgotten courtyard cloaked in shadows.
There, beneath the twisted branches of an ancient tree, he saw it.
The dragon.
Its scales shimmered like burnished silver, reflecting the moonlight in hues of blue and violet. Its wings, half-folded, stretched wide enough to brush the stone walls.
The creature’s eyes, molten gold with slitted pupils, locked onto Dan’s.
He staggered back, hand instinctively reaching for the sword at his waist. But before he could draw it, the dragon spoke.
“Do not be afraid.”
The voice resonated inside his mind, deep and commanding yet strangely calm.
“You…” Dan stammered. “You shouldn’t exist.”
The dragon’s gaze narrowed. “I exist because I must.”
Before Dan could respond, footsteps approached from behind. Tereza appeared, her face pale yet composed.
“You weren’t supposed to see this,” she said quietly.
Dan’s eyes flicked between her and the dragon. “You’ve been hiding it all this time?”
Tereza stepped closer to the beast, resting her hand against its scaled neck. “He’s not a threat, not to us. He’s been protecting us.”
The dragon’s voice rumbled through Dan’s mind once more. “I did not come to protect you. I came to deliver a prophecy.”
Dan’s breath caught. “What prophecy?”
The dragon’s gaze sharpened. “Your marriage is no coincidence. The bond between you will shape the future of the Andromeda Galaxy.”
“A war is coming, one that will burn through the stars and consume entire worlds. Your children will stand at the heart of it.”
Dan’s pulse quickened. “Our children?”
The dragon’s wings shifted, curling slightly as if bracing itself. “You will have eight children. Seven sons… and one daughter.”
Tereza’s hand tightened against the dragon’s scales. “A daughter?” she whispered.
“She will be known as Destiny’s Child, the key to survival when the galaxy faces its greatest destruction.” The words lingered in the air like smoke.
Dan felt cold seeping into his bones, yet something deeper stirred within him, an instinct that warned him this prophecy was not a distant threat, but a reality already in motion.
“You’re saying our children will be… warriors?” Dan asked.
“Warriors, leaders, and guardians,” the dragon rumbled. “The galaxy will turn to them when darkness spreads across the stars.”
Tereza’s face darkened. “But how can they face such a burden?”

“It is not for you to decide,” the dragon said. “Fate has already chosen them.”
For a moment, silence hung heavy in the air. Then the dragon lowered its head, curling its wings tightly to its body.
“Prepare yourselves,” it warned. “The storm is closer than you think.”
With that, the beast’s form flickered like a dying flame before vanishing into thin air.
Dan turned to Tereza. “How long have you known about this?”
Her gaze lingered on the spot where the dragon had stood. “Since before we married,” she admitted.
“The elders feared the prophecy, so they silenced it. They thought if I never spoke of magic or bore children… the prophecy would never unfold.”
“But you knew it couldn’t be stopped,” Dan said.
Tereza nodded slowly. “It’s why they forced me to marry you, to contain the power, to control the future.”
Dan exhaled sharply, his mind spinning. “Eight children… a prophecy… a war that could destroy the galaxy…”
“And one daughter to carry the fate of it all,” Tereza finished.
They stood in the cold garden for a long time, saying nothing. The weight of the prophecy hung between them like an unspoken vow, one they both knew they couldn’t avoid.
Months passed, and the tension between them lessened.
Perhaps it was the shared burden of what they knew, or perhaps it was the quiet understanding that they would have to face the future together.
Tereza’s cold demeanor softened, and Dan found himself drawn to her in ways he hadn’t expected.
When their first son was born, Dan held the child in his arms and remembered the dragon’s words.
He stared into his son’s curious eyes, a deep violet hue unlike either of their own, and knew that fate had begun to unfold.
Their family grew quickly. One by one, the sons arrived, strong, clever, and capable in their own ways.
Each bore signs of the prophecy, marks on their skin that shimmered faintly under starlight, whispers of cosmic power that lingered in their presence.
Yet it was their youngest child, their daughter, who would change everything.
The day she was born, the sky darkened despite the afternoon sun. Clouds gathered, swirling like a vortex above the castle.
A pulse of energy rippled through the air, and Dan swore he heard whispers carried on the wind. When he held his daughter for the first time, she barely cried.
Her tiny fingers curled tightly around his thumb, and her eyes, silver, like starlight, stared up at him with unsettling awareness.
“She’s special,” Tereza said softly.
“She’s more than special,” Dan murmured. “She’s Destiny’s Child.”
The years that followed were marked by whispers of conflict, dark fleets rising in the Andromeda Galaxy, planets falling under siege, and forgotten powers awakening.
Dan knew their time was running out. The children grew strong, each mastering their unique gifts.
The eldest learned to wield flame, his power fierce and commanding. The second could bend wind to his will, while the third channeled the earth’s strength.
Their fourth son’s voice held the power to calm minds or stir rage. The fifth controlled ice, and the sixth walked with shadows at his command.
The seventh was a master of illusions, weaving reality like a tapestry. And their daughter, the eighth child, was something else entirely.
The whispers followed her everywhere, voices only she could hear. She spoke to the stars as if they answered her, and her presence seemed to bend fate itself.
Tereza watched her closely, guarding her daughter as if shielding her from unseen dangers.
“We can’t keep her hidden forever,” Dan warned.
“We won’t,” Tereza replied. “But we’ll make sure she’s ready when the storm arrives.”
Dan knew she was right. Destiny’s Child was more than just their daughter, she was the hope of the galaxy itself.
And when the time came, their family would have to stand together to face whatever darkness awaited them.
