Chapter 200: Lost Him
Ahcehera stepped out of the library, her fingers still cold from the touch of the ancient book.
Her thoughts were clouded, tangled in the goddess’s words, but the weight of reality struck her the moment she noticed the unusual movement around the palace grounds.
Servants rushed in and out of corridors, guards whispered among themselves, and tension clung to the air like a storm about to break.
Her keen senses picked up the stiff postures of the knights stationed near the entrance, their hands gripping their weapons too tightly. Something was wrong.
Her golden eyes scanned the area, sharp and calculating, until the palace guards finally noticed her presence.
A wave of visible relief crossed their faces, yet their shoulders remained rigid. Then, the captain of the guard stepped forward, his expression unreadable beneath his helmet.
“Princess, your husband was caught in an accident, and his body could not be found anywhere.”
Ahcehera froze. A peculiar numbness wrapped around her body as if her nerves had momentarily disconnected from her brain.
She stared at the captain, waiting for him to correct himself, waiting for him to tell her that she had misheard him. But the silence that followed confirmed otherwise.
Her fingers curled into her palm. “What do you mean by accident?”
The captain hesitated, his lips pressing into a firm line before he straightened his posture and answered.
“His Highness was called to the Northern border because an attack occurred near the dukedom of the Mors clan.”
An attack…
“The Mors clan holds the Northern territory, but when he arrived, the enemies had already infiltrated the area.”
Her blood ran cold. “Why was I unaware?”
“His Highness might not have wanted to burden you.”
Burden me? Ahcehera’s jaw tightened. Rohzivaan knew she was not the kind of woman to be shielded from war or danger.
He knew she had spent her entire life fighting, strategizing, and securing victories where no one else could. And yet, he had still gone alone, keeping her in the dark.
She took a slow breath, forcing herself to stay composed. “Where is he?”
The captain lowered his head. “The attack was brutal. When reinforcements arrived, there was no trace of him. Only blood and remnants of battle.”
Her heart lurched. No trace. Only blood. That wasn’t enough.
Ahcehera turned on her heel, her voice cutting through the air like a blade. “Prepare my transport. We leave for the Northern border immediately.”
The guards exchanged hesitant glances, but none dared to argue. They had seen her in battle.
They knew the sharp mind and merciless hand she wielded when her loved ones were threatened.
Within moments, her personal unit was gathered, their armor gleaming under the harsh lights of the palace grounds. The starship was prepared, engines humming in the background.
Ahcehera climbed aboard without hesitation, her heart beating in sync with the roaring thrusters.
She would find him. Or she would burn the entire Northern border to the ground.
The journey to the Northern border was silent, filled only with the mechanical hum of the starship.
Ahcehera sat at the front, staring at the vast darkness of space ahead, but her mind was elsewhere.
Rohzivaan.

Her husband, the man who had looked at her like she was his entire world, had vanished. The words of the captain echoed in her mind, only blood and remnants of battle.
Her fingers tightened around the armrest. The thought of losing him left a hollow ache in her chest, one she wasn’t ready to acknowledge.
She had been prepared for many things in life, but not this.
The memories of last night came rushing back, the warmth of his embrace, the way his fingers traced her skin, the laughter they shared under the stars. And now, he was gone?
No. She refused to accept that. Joseph, her most trusted knight, stood beside her.
He had remained quiet the entire journey, watching her with calculating eyes, but she could feel his concern.
“You should prepare for the worst, Princess,” he finally said.
Ahcehera did not respond immediately. She turned to face him, her eyes unreadable. “There is no worst scenario. Not until I see his body with my own eyes.”
Joseph sighed but did not argue further. He had seen her like this before, relentless, unshaken even in the face of death.
If there was even the smallest chance of finding Rohzivaan alive, she would not stop until she uncovered it.
The ship jolted as it entered the Northern border’s atmosphere. The landscape below was grim, charred land, destroyed mechas, and bodies littered across the battlefield.
The moment the ramp descended, Ahcehera stepped out, flanked by her guards. The air was thick with the stench of blood and burning metal.
The battlefield was still active, soldiers moving swiftly to tend to the wounded and secure the area.
A commander rushed toward her, saluting. “Princess Ahcehera! We weren’t expecting your arrival…”
“Where is my husband?” she cut in.
The commander hesitated. “We… haven’t found him, Your Highness.”
Her fingers twitched. “Then start looking harder.”
She pushed past him, her eyes scanning the destruction. She needed clues, anything that would point her to where Rohzivaan had gone.
Then she saw it, a deep crater near the destroyed buildings. The ground was scorched, as if something had exploded.
At the center of it was a torn piece of fabric, blood-stained and familiar. Her breath hitched. It was part of Rohzivaan’s uniform.
Ahcehera knelt down, picking it up, her grip tightening. Her hands trembled slightly, but her face remained unreadable.
Joseph crouched beside her. “This isn’t good.”
She knew that. The explosion must have been massive. If Rohzivaan had been at the center of it, then… No. She couldn’t think like that.
Her mind worked quickly, analyzing the details. The edges of the torn fabric were burned, but not completely disintegrated.
That meant he hadn’t been directly at the center of the explosion, he had been close, but not within the immediate blast radius.
If he had survived, where would he have gone? Ahcehera turned to the commander. “Did anyone see him before the explosion?”
The man nodded hesitantly. “Yes, Your Highness. His Highness was last seen fighting near the old fortress ruins, but then the explosion happened, and we lost sight of him.”
Ahcehera stood abruptly. “Then that’s where we start.”
