Chapter 201: Hide and Seek
The search for Rohzivaan stretched long into the night, but despite their relentless efforts, no trace of him could be found.
Ahcehera led her team through the ruins of the battlefield, examining every piece of debris, and questioning every surviving soldier, but the answer remained the same, Rohzivaan had vanished.
The last place he had been seen was near the explosion site, yet no remains were found. The lack of a body sent a shiver down Ahcehera’s spine.
If he had died, there would have been evidence. Blood, bones, something. But there was nothing. It was as if he had been erased from existence.
As the hours passed, the wind shifted, carrying a strange scent, one Ahcehera didn’t recognize. The air thickened, almost suffocating, and the ground beneath them trembled.
Then, as if the planet itself had been scarred, an ancient mark burned into the earth. A massive, intricate sigil, carved deep into the soil, glowing with dark, malevolent energy.
Ahcehera’s golden eyes narrowed. “Stand back.”
Her team obeyed instantly, weapons raised as they surveyed the ominous marking. It pulsed with an eerie light, radiating a presence that sent a chill down their spines.
Joseph stepped beside her. “This… this isn’t natural.”
Ahcehera knelt down, running her fingers along the edges of the mark. The energy coiled at her touch, reacting as if aware of her presence.
It wasn’t just an ancient marking, it was a seal. A powerful one. A realization settled in her gut like ice. A Demon God had awakened. And Rohzivaan had been taken.
Her jaw clenched. The world felt like it was closing in, but she refused to let fear take over. She stood abruptly, turning to her team.
“Search the entire perimeter again. Look for any residual traces of spatial displacement or energy flux. If a Demon God has awakened, it means there is a portal or gateway somewhere.”
Joseph hesitated. “Princess… if he’s been taken by a Demon God, then…”
“Then I’ll bring him back.” Her voice was unwavering. “No matter what it takes.”
Her team dispersed, scanning the area with high-tech sensors, looking for anomalies. Ahcehera stayed rooted in place, staring at the sigil.
She could feel the power thrumming beneath her feet. It was unlike anything she had encountered before.
Then, as if in response to her presence, the mark flared. A voice echoed in the wind, deep and resonant. “Your mate belongs to me now.”
Ahcehera’s breath caught. The voice was neither alive nor dead, it was something beyond mortal comprehension. A Demon God had spoken.
The wind howled violently, whipping through the battlefield, and the sigil’s glow intensified.
Ahcehera felt a tug at the edge of her consciousness, as if something, or someone, was trying to drag her in.
But she fought against it, planting her feet firmly into the ground. “Where is he?” she demanded.
Laughter echoed around her, sending a shudder through her bones. “Find me, and you will find him. But beware, child of the stars… some things are not meant to be found.”
Then, the sigil vanished, leaving only scorched earth in its wake. Silence followed, heavy and suffocating.
Joseph approached cautiously. “What… just happened?”
Ahcehera straightened, her expression unreadable. “He’s alive.”
“How do you know?”
“Because I heard it.” She turned to face him, determination burning in her eyes. “The Demon God wants me to find him. And I will.”
Joseph looked troubled.
“Princess, if a Demon God is involved, then we’re up against something far beyond our capabilities. We need reinforcements. The Emperor, the High Council…”

“No.” Ahcehera’s voice was firm. “If we involve the council, they will declare him dead and focus their efforts elsewhere. I’m not waiting for bureaucracy to decide his fate.”
Joseph exhaled sharply, knowing there was no changing her mind. “Then what’s the plan?”
Ahcehera turned her gaze toward the distant mountains, where the remnants of an ancient temple stood.
“We follow the clues. If this Demon God wants me to find him, then he must have left a trail.”
Her mind worked quickly, recalling every historical record she had ever read about Demon Gods.
They were not bound to any single realm, they existed in the void, feeding on chaos and destruction.
But they also followed patterns. They had lairs, domains where their power was strongest. And the closest one was the Ruins of Ortheon.
She turned to her team. “We leave at dawn. Prepare everything we need. I want all available data on the Ruins of Ortheon. Any myths, legends, or records that mention Demon Gods, I want them compiled before we set foot there.”
Joseph nodded, immediately barking orders to the rest of the unit. Ahcehera remained still, staring at the scorched earth where the sigil had been.
Hold on, Rohzivaan, she thought. I’m coming for you.
As the night deepened, she remained awake, sitting by the remnants of the battlefield, her mind racing through every possibility.
A part of her knew this was a trap. The Demon God wanted her to come. And she would.
Not because she was reckless. Not because she underestimated the danger. But because if there was even the slightest chance of saving Rohzivaan, she would take it.
She would not lose him. The night air was thick with tension, carrying the scent of blood and scorched earth.
Ahcehera remained where she stood, her mind spiraling through endless possibilities.
The Demon God had spoken directly to her. It knew her, taunted her, and left a trail she was meant to follow.
She clenched her fists. This wasn’t just about Rohzivaan. This was about power, ancient, dark power resurfacing in the universe.
If a Demon God had awakened, then the entire balance of the interstellar realm was at risk. Yet, in the depths of her heart, it wasn’t the realm she thought of first. It was him.
She closed her eyes, recalling the warmth of his embrace, the way he whispered her name like a sacred prayer.
The way he had held her just nights ago, his lips tracing her skin with devotion. He had loved her completely, and she, she had done something irreversible to their bond.
Was this punishment? Or fate? Her eyes snapped open, golden irises blazing with resolve.
No matter what dark forces awaited her, no matter how deep into the abyss she had to go, she would find Rohzivaan. And she would bring him home.
