Chapter 59: Rebirth (6)
Her gaze fell on the portal near the palace, the one that had brought her and Richard to this planet.
“Was this intentional?” she asked herself, her mind racing.
Were we sent here as part of a larger plan?
Her thoughts were interrupted as the map began to change again, this time zooming in on her current location.
A pulse of red light emanated from her position, spreading outward like ripples in a pond.
“Something’s happening,” she said, her voice tight with urgency.
The ground beneath her feet began to tremble, and the map flickered erratically. A low hum filled the air, growing louder with each passing second.
Ahcehera’s instincts kicked in.
She took a step back, scanning her surroundings for an exit. The portal she had entered through was still active, its crimson light swirling like a tempest.
Before she could make a decision, the map displayed something new, a warning. Symbols she couldn’t decipher flashed across the projection, accompanied by a deep, resonant tone.
“This isn’t just a map,” she realized, her blood running cold. “It’s a control center. And something… or someone… just activated it.”
With no time to waste, Ahcehera turned back toward the portal. She had seen enough for now, but questions plagued her mind.
I will copy the data of what I’ve seen here.
What was the purpose of this wormhole network?
Who created it?
And most importantly, what did it mean for the galaxy and the dimensions it connected?
As she stepped back into the swirling portal, she vowed to find the answers.
Ahcehera stumbled out of the portal, her legs shaky as they touched the familiar soil of Cazumi 0071.
The air here felt heavier, as though the planet itself was holding its breath. She turned back to look at the portal, but her heart sank at what she saw.
The once-vivid markings on the portal’s surface were now dull and fractured. A jagged line ran through the center, splitting it as though it had been cleaved by an unseen force.
The light that had bathed the portal in crimson brilliance was gone, leaving only a faint, fading shimmer.
“It’s broken,” she murmured, her voice echoing softly in the quiet forest. Her fingers traced the broken markings.
The portal was lifeless now, a relic of what it once was. She sighed deeply, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Ahcehera scanned her surroundings, her eyes narrowing as she assessed her next steps.
Not far from where she stood, a cave opening was partially obscured by overgrown vines and foliage.
It was tucked into the side of a small hill, the shadows within promising both refuge and mystery.
“I need shelter for now,” she decided, moving toward the cave.
The cave was damp and cool, the scent of moss and earth filling the air. Ahcehera stepped inside cautiously, her flashlight casting long, flickering shadows on the uneven walls.
Small, glittering crystals embedded in the rock reflected the light, giving the cave an ethereal glow.

“It’ll do,” she said softly, setting down her pack. She retrieved a compact camping kit from Cresencia and began setting it up.
A small mat was unrolled onto the driest patch of ground, followed by a compact cooking stove and a sealed container of food.
After securing the entrance with a temporary energy barrier, Ahcehera allowed herself to relax for the first time since activating the portal.
Sitting cross-legged on the mat, Ahcehera took a moment to process everything she had learned.
The wormhole network, the galaxy map, the connections between dimensions, it all felt overwhelming.
“Why was I sent here?” she mused aloud. “And what was the purpose of that portal?”
This is no longer part of the original novel.
She shook her head, brushing away the unanswered questions. There was no point in dwelling on things she couldn’t change, at least not now.
Reaching into Cresencia again, she pulled out several small plants she had collected during her journey.
Each one was vibrant and unique, with leaves and flowers that shimmered with otherworldly hues.
Carefully, she planted them in small pots filled with nutrient-rich soil. These were rare specimens, ones she hoped to study further and eventually transfer to Kingdom Sirius.
“These could be a lifeline,” she murmured, touching the delicate leaves of one plant. Its deep blue petals shimmered faintly, as though imbued with starlight.
She placed the pots in a circle around her mat, their soft glow creating a comforting ambiance in the dim cave.
I need to put them inside the space later, to nurture them further.
Despite the solitude, Ahcehera couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t entirely alone on Cazumi 0071. The planet felt alive in a way that was both awe-inspiring and unsettling.
There might be more secrets buried on this planet, but it will take much effort to explore it deeply. As a senior strategist and a princess, I have roles I need to fulfill.
It won’t be long before I return to Sirius.
The plants she had collected were unlike anything she had seen before, thriving in the strange energy that permeated the land.
“I haven’t even scratched the surface of this place,” she said to herself, gazing out of the cave’s entrance. The forest beyond was dense and full of potential.
But she knew her time was limited.
She still had to test for any remaining traces of dark energy, search for other potential portals, and ensure the planet posed no immediate threat to her people.
Tomorrow, she would continue her exploration, mapping the area and cataloging anything of importance.
She would also set up additional surveillance drones to monitor the surroundings.
For now, though, she needed rest.
Lying back on the mat, she stared up at the glittering crystals on the cave ceiling, their soft glow reminiscent of the galaxy map she had seen earlier.
“This planet holds secrets,” she whispered, her eyelids growing heavy. “And I intend to uncover them.”
With that, she drifted into a light, restless sleep, her mind already planning the next steps of her journey.
