Chapter 64: We Meet Again
Something’s not right… Then, without warning, an intense light erupted beneath the deepest part of the lake.
Richard squinted against the glare, his heart pounding as Jimexi’s sensors overloaded momentarily before recalibrating. That’s it!
“Adjust sensitivity. Focus,” he ordered, and the mecha obeyed, stabilizing its systems.
The light was unnatural, pulsing like a heartbeat, emanating from the very bottom. It called to him, both a lure and a warning.
“Going deeper,” he said, his voice steely. Jimexi’s propulsion systems kicked in, and they dove toward the source of the light.
As they descended, an invisible barrier shimmered into view. Richard felt it before he saw it, a wall of energy crackling with demonic intensity. So powerful?
It was a throbbing curtain that emanated pure negativity, unlike anything he had ever seen. Extreme pressure and energy interference were warned against by Jimexi’s systems.
Why have I never discovered this before? Richard clenched his teeth. “Push through.”
Jimexi surged forward, its reinforced armor absorbing the strain as it breached the barrier. Almost there…
The moment they passed through, the water shifted. The pressure lifted, replaced by an eerie stillness. The light became blinding, forcing Richard to shield his eyes.
When his vision adjusted, his heart nearly stopped. Before him floated a mecha, one he knew all too well. Am I… hallucinating?
Its design was unmistakable, a perfect replica of the princess’ mecha but tinted in silver and dark crimson hue.
The sight sent a chill racing down his spine. This wasn’t just a copy, it could be hers…
And it was locked in battle. The silver mecha slashed through the water, its blade shimmering with light energy. She’s back!
Its opponent was monstrous, an amorphous creature made of writhing shadows and sharp, shifting appendages.
The demonic energy radiating from the creature was suffocating, an overwhelming presence that clawed at Richard’s senses.
Richard’s hands tightened on the controls as he analyzed the situation. “What the hell is going on here? How could she face this alone?”
The silver mecha fought with brutal efficiency, its movements mirroring the princess’ own fighting style but with an aggression and recklessness that felt alien.
It drove its blade deep into the shadow creature, splitting it apart, but the fragments reformed almost instantly, striking back with feral intensity.
The sight sent Richard into action. “Jimexi, power up. We’re joining this fight.”
His mecha surged forward, its energy blade materializing as he prepared to engage. The moment he entered the fray, the silver mecha turned to face him.
For a split second, their gazes met through the glow of their respective cockpits.
Richard’s breath caught. The pilot inside the crimson mecha… was truly her.
Ahcehera.
–
Ahcehera was totally absorbed in the battle. Her movements were intuitive, thoughtful, and powerful.
The demonic creature’s relentless attacks left no room for error, its jagged appendages slicing through the murky water with deadly precision.
As she twisted her mecha, Syverian, to evade another strike, her senses flared, catching a sudden shift in the energy around her.
Damn it! This demonic energy can bend and stretch. It can also multiply itself. She spun sharply, expecting another attack, only to freeze mid-motion.

What is it? Behind her, emerging from the dark, was another mecha.
Its angular design gleamed faintly in the filtered light from above, its deep violet hues radiating an intimidating presence.
Richard.
For a heartbeat, time seemed to pause. How did he appear out of nowhere?
Through the faint glow of their cockpits, their eyes met.
Richard’s intense gaze held hers, and an unspoken tension crackled between them as if the chaos around them had faded into the background.
But Ahcehera didn’t linger. She tore her attention back to the creature, her grip on the controls tightening. I can’t delay this fight.
“Focus,” she whispered to herself, the word an anchor against the turmoil.
Richard’s mecha, Jimexi, powered up beside her, his intent unmistakable. Without a word, he joined the fray, his movements fluid and calculated, matching hers in precision.
Why would he help me?
Together, they launched into a coordinated assault. The creature lashed out wildly, its shadowy form shifting and reforming with unnatural speed.
Its growls, a frightening sound that sent shivers down their mechas, echoed down the abyss.
Demons without forms are truly tough to fight!
Ahcehera and Richard moved in unison, their mechas weaving around each other in a deadly dance.
Ahcehera’s light-based spiritual energy radiated from Syverian, illuminating the dark waters like a beacon.
Each burst of energy scorched the creature, breaking apart its shadowy form. Richard’s strikes were just as effective, his dark energy disrupting its regeneration.
They were a perfect balance, light and dark, offense, and defense, pushing the creature to its limits.
Finally, with a piercing cry, Ahcehera unleashed a concentrated blast of spiritual light. The energy speared through the creature’s core, shattering it completely.
The remnants dissolved into wisps of darkness, vanishing into the void. The silence that followed was deafening.
I need to return. Ahcehera guided Syverian upward, breaking through the lake’s surface with grace.
Her mecha landed silently on the shore, water dripping from its metallic frame. Richard followed moments later, Jimexi emerging from the depths like a shadow-given form.
Once on solid ground, Ahcehera opened her cockpit. The hatch slid back with a hiss, and she stepped out, her breath misting in the cool air.
She kept Syverian inside Cresencia, its soft glow fading as it vanished in thin air. We met again. He had grown…
Richard disembarked just as silently, his towering presence unmistakable even without his mecha.
He dismissed Jimexi with a flick of his wrist, the violet machine fading into nothingness as he approached.
They stood facing each other, the distance between them a chasm that neither seemed ready to cross.
The tension from the battle still hung in the air, mingling with something deeper, something unspoken.
For a long moment, neither spoke. The space between them was heavy with unvoiced words and unanswered questions.
And yet, in the quiet aftermath, their silence seemed to say everything. Ahcehera turned away, her gaze distant as she started to walk toward the forest lining the lake’s edge.
The fight had drained her, and the weight of Richard’s presence only added to her exhaustion. But before she could take another step, a strong hand gripped her wrist.
“Wait,” Richard said, his voice low but urgent.
Before she could protest, he yanked her toward him and bolted in the opposite direction, pulling her along at a breakneck pace.
“What are you…” Ahcehera began, but her words were cut short.
