Chapter 81: Struggle More
The days that followed were a delicate balance between vigilance and uncertainty. Richard’s werewolf gene attacks grew more frequent, each one fiercer than the last.
Despite Ahcehera’s best efforts to calm him with her light energy and mental power, the primal urges of his wolf resurfaced with relentless intensity.
Each attack was a reminder of the battle raging within him, a battle he was losing.
One evening, as Ahcehera prepared a calming potion in the villa’s kitchen, she heard a low growl from behind her.
She froze, her heart pounding as she turned to see Richard standing in the doorway.
His eyes glowed that familiar golden hue, and his stance was predatory, his breathing ragged.
“Richard,” she began cautiously, holding her hands up. “You need to fight this.”
But he didn’t respond. With a snarl, he lunged at her, faster than she anticipated. He has shifted!
She barely managed to summon a barrier between them, his claws scraping against the invisible wall with a piercing screech.
“Richard, stop!” she shouted, her voice laced with urgency. “This isn’t you!”
His wolf form snarled, circling her as if searching for a weakness in her defense. The raw desire in his gaze sent shivers down her spine, but she couldn’t let fear take over.
She had to confront him, not just the wolf, but the man beneath it. With a deep breath, she dropped the barrier and faced him directly.
“Richard,” she said firmly, her voice steady despite the tension crackling in the air. “I know you’re in there. You have to fight this.”
His body tensed, his glowing eyes narrowing as he took a step closer.
When he lunged again, Ahcehera was ready. She sidestepped, summoning enchanted chains to bind his wrists.
The chains glowed faintly, powered by her mental energy, but Richard’s wolf was stronger than before. He thrashed against the bindings, his snarls echoing through the villa.
“You’re not a beast!” she shouted, her voice filled with determination. “You’re Richard Mors. My mate. And I won’t let this thing take you away from me!”
For a moment, her words seemed to reach him. His movements stilled, and a flicker of recognition appeared in his glowing eyes.
But the wolf was far from subdued. With a roar, he broke one of the chains, the force sending shockwaves through the room.
Ahcehera staggered back, her heart racing as she realized the strength of his primal form. She had no choice. If she didn’t confront him now, she might lose him forever.
Summoning her full power, Ahcehera formed a shimmering circle of light around them, the energy pulsing like a heartbeat.
The wolf growled, its movements hesitant as if sensing the purity of her energy.
“Richard,” she said softly, stepping closer despite the danger. “I know you’re fighting. I know it’s hard. But you’re not alone. I’m here with you.”
Her words seemed to pierce through the haze of his primal instincts. His body trembled, and his glowing eyes flickered between gold and purple.
“You’re stronger than this,” she continued, her voice filled with strength and tenderness. “I believe in you. Come back to me.”
The wolf let out a pained growl, collapsing to its knees as Richard’s form began to shift. The glow in his eyes faded, replaced by the familiar blue that she knew so well.
He looked up at her, his face etched with guilt and exhaustion. “Princess…” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t…”
She knelt beside him, cupping his face in her hands. “Don’t apologize,” she said firmly. “We’ll get through this. Together.”
Richard leaned into her touch, his breathing uneven as he clung to her presence. But as Ahcehera held him, she couldn’t ignore the nagging fear in her heart.

The attacks were growing worse, and whatever was triggering them was far unknown. If they didn’t find a solution soon, she might not be able to save him the next time.
As the full moon rose high in the sky, its silvery glow bathed the villa in an ethereal light.
The air felt charged with energy, and Ahcehera couldn’t shake the unease that had settled deep within her.
Richard had been unusually calm all day, his demeanor quieter, almost contemplative. She had hoped it was a sign of his condition improving.
But she should have known better.
That night, as the moonlight streamed through the large windows of the villa, Richard approached her with a gentleness that disarmed her.
His purple eyes held an intensity that made her pause.
“You’ve been taking care of me tirelessly, Princess,” he said, his voice soft and filled with gratitude. “I don’t deserve this, but I’m thankful you’re here.”
She tilted her head, a faint smile gracing her lips. “You’re my mate, Richard. It’s my duty to protect you, just as you would for me.”
His gaze softened, but there was something in his eyes, a glimmer of something primal, that sent a shiver down her spine.
Before she could say more, he took her hand and guided her to the open balcony overlooking the forest.
“Let’s just enjoy this moment,” he said, his tone soothing. “No worries about the battles we’ve fought or the ones to come.”
Ahcehera nodded, her tension easing slightly as they stood side by side under the moonlight.
She felt a strange calm, lulled by the serene atmosphere and his uncharacteristically tender behavior. But Richard’s wolf had other plans.
As the moon reached its zenith, she felt a sudden shift in the air. The calm demeanor he had projected melted away, replaced by an aura of raw, untamed energy.
She turned to face him, her instincts flaring, but it was too late.
Richard’s eyes glowed a deep gold, and before she could react, he closed the distance between them, capturing her in a firm yet strangely gentle grip.
“Richard, what are you doing?” she asked, her voice laced with both confusion and concern.
His smile was both wolfish and tender, a dangerous mix that sent her heart racing. “I can’t fight it anymore, Ahcehera. The wolf… it needs you. I need you.”
“Richard, stop,” she pleaded, struggling against his hold. “You’re not yourself!”
But his grip tightened, and his wolf’s strength overpowered her attempts to resist. The moonlight seemed to feed his primal instincts, and his words came out in a low, guttural tone.
“You’re my mate,” he murmured, his breath warm against her skin. “I’ve resisted for as long as I could, but tonight… I can’t hold back anymore.”
