Chapter 85: Loyalty of Blood
Richard stepped beside her, watching as the world around them trembled. “Because of me?”
Ahcehera clenched her fists. “Because of us.”
Another tremor struck, stronger this time. The white mansion groaned under the unseen force, and the floating sword in Richard’s hand pulsed as if answering to it.
Ahcehera exhaled sharply. There’s no time.
She turned to Richard, urgency burning in her gaze. “We need to leave Cresencia, now.”
Richard’s brows furrowed. “And go where?”
She grabbed his wrist, their bond flaring with energy. “Back to reality.”
With a flick of her fingers, the space around them shattered like glass, swallowing them into the unknown.
The moment Ahcehera shattered Cresencia’s space, a blinding light engulfed them.
Richard felt a force pulling at him, warping, twisting, before he was unceremoniously thrown back into reality.
He landed on his knees, gasping for air, his grip tightening around Eliath. His surroundings slowly came into focus. They were back in her villa.
Ahcehera stumbled slightly, pressing a hand to her temple. The sudden shift between dimensions left her momentarily disoriented.
But she had no time to recover, she could feel the weight of reality pressing down on them again. The aftereffects of breaking Cresencia’s balance were already seeping into this world.
Richard pushed himself to his feet, his sharp eyes scanning the room before settling on her. “What the hell just happened?”
She took a deep breath, trying to steady her pulse.
“I almost lost control of Cresencia. That space is meant to be hidden and stable, but when you touched that sword, something shifted. It started reacting to you, no, to us.”
Richard’s jaw clenched. He looked at Eliath in his hand, watching the way the ancient runes still glowed faintly along the blade.
It felt right in his grip, but Ahcehera’s warning echoed in his mind. A weapon that chose power over morality… was it truly responding to him, or to the beast within him?
Ahcehera took a step closer, her purple eyes locking onto his. “Richard, I need you to tell me the truth. Do you feel different?”
Richard hesitated. He had felt something change within him ever since the full moon, ever since he had marked her.
His werewolf instincts were stronger, his senses sharper, but there was something else, something darker lurking beneath the surface.
It was as if a slumbering force had been awakened inside him. “I don’t know,” he admitted, his voice low. “But I won’t let it control me.”
Ahcehera searched his gaze, trying to read the emotions swirling within.

The next morning, urgent news shattered the tense silence lingering over Richard and Ahcehera.
A transmission came through Richmond’s encrypted channel, his voice was uncharacteristically sharp. “Khaterine has escaped the military’s detention center.”
Ahcehera’s eyes widened in disbelief. “How is that possible?” she demanded, gripping the edge of the table. “She was heavily guarded.”
Richard’s expression darkened, his jaw tightening. “Unless someone on the inside helped her.”
A tense silence followed his words before Richmond continued, his tone edged with frustration.

“That’s exactly what we suspect. The security footage was erased, and all the guards who were on duty claim to remember nothing.”
Ahcehera’s mind raced. This wasn’t just an ordinary escape, it was calculated. Someone with power and influence had orchestrated this.
Richard was already moving. “We’re heading back to Agartha’s Base.”
Ahcehera didn’t hesitate. They had spent too much time secluded in the villa. If Khaterine was loose, there was no telling what she would do next.
Minutes later, their hovercar cut through the sky at breakneck speed, heading straight for the capital.
Ahcehera glanced at Richard, his grip tight on the controls. “Do you think she’s after Richmond?”
“She might be,” Richard admitted. “But something tells me this goes deeper than a mere obsession with him.”
He met her gaze briefly. “She knew I was at the villa with you. If she likes my brother, as she claimed, she might see you as the biggest obstacle in her path.”
Ahcehera’s expression hardened. “Then let her try.”
As they neared Agartha’s Base, the looming structure stood tall against the horizon, its high-security defenses already on high alert.
They were entering a battlefield where the enemy lurked in the shadows. Khaterine had made her move. Now, it was their turn.
As soon as Ahcehera and Richard stepped into Agartha’s Base, her optical brain buzzed with an encrypted transmission. The caller ID flashed: Aleverin.
She swiftly answered, her brother’s voice carrying a mix of urgency and unease.
“Ahcehera, I know you’re dealing with something in Agartha, but you need to hear this.”
She frowned. “What happened?”
Aleverin hesitated for a moment before he finally said, “Abrixien is back.”
Ahcehera froze. Abrixien, their elusive third brother, had been missing from home for years, traveling through different planets for undisclosed missions.
Their family had always known he was alive, occasional coded messages proved that, but he never returned, not even when their father personally summoned him.
But now…
“He came back on his own?” she asked sharply, her grip tightening on her device.
“Yes, but that’s not the only problem.” Aleverin’s voice turned graver. “He didn’t come alone.”
A strange chill ran down Ahcehera’s spine. “Who’s with him?”
There was another pause before Aleverin finally answered, “A woman. Someone we’ve never met before. Her name is Khaterine.”
Ahcehera’s breath hitched.
Richard, who had been listening beside her, immediately stiffened. “What?” His purple eyes burned with suspicion. “Are you sure?”
“Positive,” Aleverin confirmed. “She introduced herself as Khaterine Imee and is currently in the royal palace. She looks harmless, but something about her doesn’t feel right. Father has called a meeting with the council to discuss Abrixien’s sudden return.”
Ahcehera felt a storm brewing inside her. Khaterine, the same woman who had just escaped from military detention, was now in their home, standing beside one of their own.
This wasn’t a coincidence. It was a power play.
She exhaled sharply. “We’re coming home.”
Aleverin didn’t question her. “Understood. Be careful.”
The transmission ended, and Ahcehera turned to Richard, her expression unreadable.
“She’s already making her move so close,” Richard murmured, his voice laced with irritation. “And now, she has your brother at her side.”
Ahcehera’s fingers curled into fists. “Then it’s time I remind my dear third brother who he should be loyal to.”
Without wasting another second, they changed course, heading straight for the royal palace.
