Chapter 182: Chapter 181: Crossing the lake
In the next seven days, nothing much happened while they were traveling.
Treyton and the others would just deal with the zombies that they would meet along the road and wouldn’t purposely go looking for zombies.
They had to travel as fast as they could because they wanted to arrive at the research center soon and finish their mission earlier.
They couldn’t predict what the next extreme weather would be, so they had to travel as fast as they could while the weather was still good.
One of their major concerns while doing missions outside the base had always been the extreme weather changes.
If others had to travel outside and encounter such weather, a lot of them would surely suffer.
Even though they were unlucky, their team didn’t suffer because they’re powerful.
Treyton was there to fortify the place they had to stay at so that they could stay safe.
Theo was also there to provide materials, and the others were there to fight, cook food, or do other things.
Their team was strong enough; that’s why even though they encountered heavy rain, floods, and swarms of rats, they still survived without any deaths.
They were strong enough; that’s why they could still resume traveling without any problems.
On the eighth day that they were traveling, they stopped in front of a huge lake.
“What’s wrong with the bridge? Is it bombed?” Luciel asked while looking at the broken bridge in the distance.
If people don’t observe the lake too closely, it could be said that the scenery was actually quite good.
However, if you look closely, you can see a lot of things under the lake, and the bridge in the distance was also destroyed.
The bridge in the distance really looked like it was bombed because the destruction was too much.
“The bridge wasn’t bombed, but it was probably because of the collision of oil trucks that were crossing the bridge.
Some of our colleagues already visited here because one of the managers who survived reported that they should have received 3 oil trucks on the day when we all fell asleep.
3 oil trucks were also valuable, so some soldiers were assigned to check where the oil trucks were, but they didn’t find anything.
Instead, they found out that the bridge here was actually destroyed,” Vance, who was standing outside the car, explained.
Vance and the others were already outside of the cars while Luciel and the others were still inside the RV and were just looking outside through the window.
“That’s indeed possible,” Luciel said in agreement while still looking at the bridge in the distance.
When they all fell asleep, the oil trucks, whose drivers were also asleep, probably bumped into each other or the other cars at the bridge and then exploded.
“So, how are we going to cross the lake?” Luciel asked.
If the damage to the bridge wasn’t too large, then Treyton might be able to fix it by using metals.
Unfortunately, the bridge was really broken with a very large gap in between.
If Treyton had to repair the bridge, then it would just take too much time, which isn’t cost-effective.
Well, if his power improves, he could certainly fill the large gap in the bridge easily.
“If we find a usable ferry, then we will use it to cross the lake. If not, then we had to go around the lake,” Treyton said.
“I see,” Luciel said while looking at the others outside of the RV.

Zam and the others were divided into groups and were doing different things.
Some were cleaning up the area they were in as they planned to use it as their rest area.
Some went to go and look for a ferry that they could use.
And some were also preparing things for their lunch.
When Bella and the others were distributing their lunch, those who went looking for a ferry that they could use also came back.
“Did you find a ferry?” Treyton asked those that came back.
“Yes, we found 2 small ferries that are working properly.
One of the ferries was slightly damaged because of the zombies inside, but the other was in perfect condition.
No one was in the other ferry; that’s why there’s no damage at all,” Myla reported.
“Nice, at least you found something that we could use right away.
After having lunch, we will cross the lake,” Treyton said.
After having lunch and resting for a bit, Theo put away all their cars in his space, and all of them followed Myla and the others towards the ferry that they had found.
“Oh, there are really zombie fishes,” Luciel said while looking at the water.
When he noticed something moving in the lake, he looked at it and saw a zombie fish.
“Where?” Nathan immediately asked.
Nathan was walking behind him, and Treyton was talking with Theo, who was carried by Zam.
Or it could be said that he was talking by himself because Theo only replies in short sentences or just nods or shakes his head.
Nathan was really persistent and was able to make Theo say something more.
“There,” Luciel said while pointing at the zombie fishes that were moving in the water.
“F*ck! There are really zombie fishes!”
“What are you surprised about? We already saw zombie dogs, cats, rats, and others, so it’s not surprising to see zombie fishes,” Treyton said.
“Yeah, but they are only land animals. Seeing water creatures that also turned into zombies is new,” Nathan said while looking at the zombie fishes in the water.
“It seems that more and more are gathering around here,” Nathan added.
“Let’s go. We need to move as soon as possible while only a few of those zombie fish are gathered,” Treyton said and walked faster towards the ferry.
The ferry that Myla and the others found was really in good condition and didn’t have any damage at all.
But the ferry that they found was really just a small ferry that could carry around 50 passengers.
