Kent immediately said that he had to go to the entrance of the village to check what was happening.

White also followed Kent, so Luciel and the others were left behind again.

“Sir, are you done talking with the tree?” Nichole asked.

“Yeah, it already agreed to go with us after we finished our mission.”

“Sir, how did you talk to it?” Jane asked.

“Just wrap your hands with energy so that you can form a connection with it.

Just ask it a question or anything; it could certainly understand what you are saying.

If it wants to answer, you can hear it in your mind via the connection of your powers,” Luciel explained briefly.

Jane and Nichole immediately tried talking to the tree in front of them with the method that he told him.

The tree was also very nice and talked to them.

Nichole even started calling it Mr. Acacia because it had said that it still had no name.

Nichole said that they would call the tree Acacia for the time being; it could choose a name for itself later on.

The tree was an acacia, so Nichole simply called it Mr. Acacia.

Acacia also doesn’t have any objections about its nickname, so they just call it as it is.

They learned that Mr. Acacia was already 61 years old, which could be considered to be old for acacia trees already.

He had already lived long enough; no wonder he was able to talk to them fluently even though he was only awake for a month.

Jane and Nichole talked to Mr. Acacia for a while, but then they stopped because they noticed that someone who was guarding the gate of the village ran to the house of the village head.

Afterwards, they saw the people getting out of the house in a hurry.

They also saw Treyton and the other team members going out with the villagers.

So they said goodbye to Mr. Acacia to go towards the village entrance.

Luciel was also a bit curious about why they were all going to the entrance, so he didn’t mind going there to check it out.

But before they left, Luciel talked to Mr. Acacia to hide him while they were away.

They might return after a month, but they weren’t sure if it would take even longer because of other things.

They were lucky that no plant users have visited the village so far.

If other people with superpowers have visited, Mr. Acacia probably won’t be in the village anymore.

If they met someone with plant superpowers who was with a stronger group, a lot of those villagers probably won’t survive.

In the time they were in, the ability of Mr. Acacia was very useful.

So, having a lot of people fighting over it would be normal.

The people in the village aren’t strong enough to defend Mr. Acacia at all.

After listening to what he said, Mr. Acacia also understood and agreed to hide his powers while they were gone.

However, Mr. Acacia couldn’t completely stop absorbing and giving off plant energy, as it was part of their lifestyle as a plant.

Mr. Acacia could only lessen the plant energy that he was giving off, but the amount of plant energy he was giving off was still a lot compared to normal plants.

So, Luciel taught Mr. Acacia how to form a barrier around himself using his plant energy.

With the barrier around at least it won’t be that easy to know that he was giving off more plant energy than necessary.

The plant energy around would still be plenty, but at least it won’t be too noticeable, especially in a forest with a lot of plant energy to begin with.

After seeing that Mr. Acacia formed a barrier around himself, Luciel and the others finally left on their own.

Luciel and the others weren’t in a hurry to go, so they walked slowly to the entrance.

It may have been just him who wasn’t in a rush, but Nichole and Jane didn’t want to leave first, so they had to walk slowly with him to the entrance of the village.

When they arrived at the entrance, they saw Nathan treating wounded people. Vance and the others were assisting Nathan in treating the wounded people.

“What happened?” Luciel asked Treyton after arriving beside him.

“Those 7 people were apparently attacked by a nearby settlement that doesn’t want to let them go,” Treyton answered.

Luciel didn’t reply and just looked at Nathan and the others who were busy treating the injured people and at the villagers who were discussing something heatedly.

Luciel could hear that they apparently had more people but were still trapped in that settlement, and only the 7 people managed to escape and planned to get more help.

Apparently the nearby settlement that they visited was treating outsiders like slaves.

Once someone entered their place, they wouldn’t be let out anymore and were forced to work with little to no compensation at all.

They weren’t given enough food, but they were still forced to do heavy labor.

Of course, the treatment of people with skills is different.

People with abilities or who were good in combat weren’t treated as slaves but were persuaded to stay to enjoy different kinds of benefits.

There were, of course, powerful people who didn’t want such things, but it seemed that they weren’t powerful enough, as they were often killed by those people in that settlement before they could even go out.

Luciel could only say that those people who went out didn’t have good luck as they met such people.

Well, if they went out together, at least most of them should have good luck so that they wouldn’t meet misfortune outside.
