Chapter 212: Chapter 211: getting rid of the researchers 2
“It’s finally a bit more peaceful,” Luciel said with a slight smile as soon as he finished dealing with all the crazy researchers and staff of the research center.

He couldn’t hear any more nonsense, and all the trash in front of him was gone, so his mood finally improved a bit.

Luciel only enjoyed a very brief quietness because he heard someone laughing.

“Ah ha ha ha,” Azim laughed.

“What are you laughing at?” Luciel said while looking at Azim, who was laughing at the side.

“Nothing. It’s just funny that the people who seemed to be strong and were always doing crazy things actually died just like that.

A lot of people had been pleading to let them stop what they were doing, but those researchers just ignored it.

So it seemed that they were really strong and crazy in front of our eyes, but in the end they just died like that,” Azim said while looking at the bodies of the researchers around with some loss.

“That’s just how it is. If you had wanted to torture them further, you should have said it earlier,” Luciel said.

Azim probably arrived when he was in the middle of dealing with the researchers, as he hadn’t seen him from the start.

“I indeed want them to suffer more to let them experience what they had done, but as long as they’re gone, then everything is ok,” Azim said while still looking at the dead researchers.

“I see.”

“Ciel, you didn’t have to deal with them that way, you know,” Treyton said while wiping away the blood that was splashed on his cheeks with his thumb.

Treyton came near him as soon as he finished dealing with the last person.

“You didn’t want them to die?” Luciel asked nonchalantly.

“No, they all deserve to die. I’m just saying that you don’t need to deal with them directly. We can just leave them behind, and they will surely die on their own.”

“Oh, don’t worry about it. I just killed them myself because they’re too noisy,” Luciel answered.

They were the cause of his bad mood, so Luciel didn’t mind killing them all off to have a better mood.

If they hadn’t done cruel things themselves, then even if they were the cause of his bad mood, he wouldn’t just kill them off.

Unfortunately for them, there’s no reason for Luciel to not kill them at all.

When Treyton saw the men carrying unconscious people to the research center that they had to go to, he already had a hunch that something was wrong.

The north base had assigned it as a place where they could get equipment because it was the largest research center they could go to with the least risk, as it was still considered to be nearby.

Aside from that, the north base also deduced that even if there are bases nearby, they don’t have the power to keep the research center running because of the cost.

So, they were tasked to get all the equipment they could get from the research center and also to rescue the researchers if they were still in the research center.

The north base hadn’t anticipated that the research center was still in operation and might have been supported by others.

According to the data that they had from before the apocalypse, the place where the research center is doesn’t have a group that could really support the research center for the time being.

But it was obvious that there were actually people who were still funding the research center just based on the people that they saw.

Treyton already had a hunch that something was wrong with the research center, so he didn’t hesitate to go inside the research center that very night to investigate.

He just didn’t expect that he would see such gruesome human experiments just a few months after their world was brought to chaos.

Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".

The state of the first and second research rooms for the human experiments was still bearable, but the sight of the victims in the third research center was really too much even for Treyton.

Treyton doesn’t know how they did it, but it was obvious that their attempts were unsuccessful.

They indeed successfully attached different mutant animal parts to the experimental subjects, but it was very obvious that they were just attached and weren’t even movable.

That’s why the victims were just writhing in pain on their beds without even being able to move properly.

Seeing their states, Treyton knew that they couldn’t be rescued anymore.

Even if they rescued them out of the research center, they couldn’t live for a long time because of the states that they were in.

They would just live in pain for a few more days before leaving the world they were in.

If it was before the world was in chaos, then the victims might still be able to live with the proper support of the hospitals and money from the government.

If it wasn’t supported by the government, Treyton also doesn’t have any problem in funding their treatment and care for the rest of their lives.

However, in the world they were in now, no one had the energy to support the treatment of such people in terms of cost and time.

Treyton was trying to think of a solution, so after seeing the state of those victims, he just stood there, just like the others.

When Luciel went to the first compartment and asked if the woman wanted to die, Treyton was shocked, but he didn’t stop Luciel because it might indeed be a better relief for those victims.

He could see that the victims were all in great pain and devastated because of the state they were in, so asking them what they wanted was indeed a thing they could do.

When Treyton saw the relief in the woman’s eyes when she knew that she would be put at rest forever, Treyton knew that the woman really didn’t have any will to survive anymore.
