Chapter 360: Familiar Aura
Feeling that she had forgotten something very important, Duan Yixin tried hard to recall what she had forgotten, but suddenly, there was a sharp pain in her head.
“Ah!”
She grabbed her head and gritted her teeth to endure the pain. As the pain intensified, fragmented memories flashed through her mind. She tried to hold on to those memories but failed. In the end, she only heard a clear and calm voice, sighing with pity.
“This rain falls because he misses you so much and sheds tears for you.”
Duan Yixin’s eyes were blurred because of the pain, but she still stubbornly wanted to hold on to those memories. She suppressed her headache and muttered weakly, “He… who is he…?”
Before she could find the answer, she fainted from the pain. When Yu Jingxian came back, he was shocked to see Duan Yixin curled up on the bed. He rushed to her side and found that her whole body was soaked in cold sweat.
Yu Jingxian wasted no more time, reaching out and pressing the emergency button next to the bedside table. He hugged her limping body and shouted anxiously, “Xin’er, wake up! Xin’er!”
“Doctor!” Yu Jingxian hugged Duan Yixin and anxiously called for the doctor. Then he reached out and repeatedly pressed the emergency button.
Not long after, two doctors and a team of nurses arrived. Seeing Duan Yixin’s condition, one of the doctors hurriedly said, “Take her to the treatment room! Quick!”
Yu Jingxian quickly picked up Duan Yixin and put her on the smaller bed. Then, he followed the doctors and nurses out of the room. Leaving the VIP room, the nurses pushed the bed toward the treatment room while the doctor went to get ready.
Lying on the bed, the unconscious Duan Yixin clenched her right hand tightly. Yu Jingxian noticed her clenched hand and loosened it. When he saw a seed in her cold hand, he took it before the nurses wheeled her into the treatment room.
Seeing that he wanted to follow them in, a nurse stopped him and said, “Commander Yu, please wait outside.”
Without waiting for his answer, the nurse closed the door and disappeared into the long corridor on the other side. Yu Jingxian looked at the closed door for a while before lowering his head.
Staring at the seed in his palm, he frowned slightly and thought, ‘Where did she get this seed?’
While the doctor was examining Duan Yixin’s brain and body, Yu Jingxian was in the middle of a call.
He looked at the screen on his watch, showed the old man a small seed, and asked, “Teacher, do you know what kind of seed this is?”
The old man is Duan Yixin’s teacher, and his knowledge of botanicals is the best in the world. The old man looked at the small seed on Yu Jingxian’s fingers and frowned, “Well, I have never seen this kind of seed in my life. Where did you get it?”
Yu Jingxian looked at the seed and said, “When Xin’er woke up today, she had this seed in her hand.”
Hearing his answer, the old man pushed up his glasses and said, “Since you got it from her, wait until she is feeling better before asking her about this seed.”
Since he said so, Yu Jingxian could only nod to him. “Thank you, teacher. I will tell you Xin’er’s condition after the examination is completed.”
The old man nodded, hesitated for a moment, and asked, “Jingxian, three years have passed since that incident. Has the culprit who poisoned Yixin been found?”
Hearing this question, Yu Jingxian’s eyes flashed with cold, murderous intent.
He lowered his eyes, hiding his murderous intention from the old man, and nodded, “Yes. She was currently being held in the military base prison. When Xin’er gets better, I will personally interrogate the culprit.”
The old man knew that Yu Jingxian was decisive in doing things and said, “All right. If you find anything from that person, remember to tell me.”
“Yes, Teacher.”
After he ended the call, Yu Jingxian looked at the small seed shrouded in golden light.
He rubbed the seed with his fingers and murmured in doubt, “Why does this seed exude a familiar aura? Could it be that that person gave this seed to Xin’er?”
A few hours later, the closed door finally opened. Yu Jingxian quickly stood up and walked to the bed, which the nurses had pushed.
Seeing that Duan Yixin looked better, he looked at the doctor and asked, “How is she?”
The doctor took off his surgical mask and answered, “Professor Duan’s condition has stabilized. But we still need to observe her condition for two more days. If she is fine, she can be discharged.”

After hearing the doctor’s answer, Yu Jingxian breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Duan Yixin and gently held her hand. The nurses blushed when they saw his loving eyes when he looked at Duan Yixin.
The doctor coughed to remind the nurses and then said to Yu Jingxian, “Commander Yu, we will transfer Professor Duan to the observation ward.”
Yu Jingxian nodded and followed the nurses. After arriving at the observation ward, the nurses connected several machines to Duan Yixin’s body to monitor her condition.
After they were done, one of them looked at Jingxian and said, “Commander Yu, Professor Duan is still under anesthesia. She will wake up in a few hours. After she wakes up, someone will bring her medicine and food.”
Yu Jingxian nodded, and then the nurse left with the others. After the door closed behind them, Yu Jingxian pulled up a chair and sat beside the bed. He held Duan Yixin’s hand and kissed her forehead gently.
“Xin’er, do you know that your father, your siblings, and your friends greatly miss you? We were supposed to get married in a few months, but you suddenly left me. Fortunately, I can find you here. Xin’er, I can’t wait to take you back to our home.”
He whispered this to her, then closed his eyes to rest.
