Chapter 84: Liushiliu’s Shock
After leaving the grain store, Duan Yixin went to the grocery store where she and Chi Xinru had been before. Looking at the old man still sitting in the rocking chair, Duan Yixin said, “Greetings, Uncle Jin.”
Jin Ronghang heard Duan Yixin’s voice and opened his eyes under the straw fan. He took the straw fan away from his face, looked at Duan Yixin, and said, “You can choose whatever you want to buy.”
Knowing the old man’s character, Duan Yixin was not offended by his rude tone. She nodded to Jin Ronghang and started to get what she needed to buy. When she was selecting the groceries, Jin Ronghang stared at her. The more he looks at Duan Yixin, the more familiar he feels.
He fanned slowly and thought, ‘This young lady really looks familiar. I wonder where I have seen her before.’
While Jin Ronghang was busy thinking, Liushiliu, who was hiding not far from the grocery store, was stunned when he saw Jin Ronghang. Liushiliu rubbed his eyes and looked at Jin Ronghang again.
Realizing that he really didn’t see it wrong, Liushiliu thought in surprise, ‘Why is he here? Isn’t he already dead? Did he fake his death? But– Why?’
In confusion and shock, Liushiliu quickly took out a small piece of paper and a charcoal stick. He wrote something on the paper and then put it into a small bamboo tube. He put away the bamboo tube and waited until he left Chun Shan Town before sending it to the northern border.
With Jin Ronghang around, Liushiliu didn’t dare to call the black raven. If Jin Ronghang discovers him, he may need to kill Jin Ronghang to silence him. To avoid trouble, Liushiliu chose to conceal his presence and wait. After making the decision, Liushiliu kept his eyes on Jin Rongheng while waiting for Duan Yixin to finish shopping.
In the grocery store, Duan Yixin had already selected the things she needed and said, “Uncle, how much do these cost?”
Hearing her question, Jin Ronghang came back from his thoughts and looked at the things Duan Yixin put on the table in front of him. A few seconds later, he said casually, “Two hundred and seven copper coins.”
Duan Yixin took out her money pouch and counted the copper coins. She put the copper coins on the table and put the groceries into the bamboo basket. After that, she said goodbye to Jin Ronghang and left the grocery store carrying the bamboo basket.
Just as she was about to leave, Jin Ronghang suddenly asked, “Young Lady, what is your surname?”
Duan Yixin didn’t know why he asked this, but she still replied, “My surname is Duan.”
When Jin Ronghang heard her answer, his eyes dimmed, and he said, “I see. Be careful of robbers and thieves on your way back.”
After saying that, he lay back on the rocking chair and covered his face with the straw fan. Duan Yixin glanced at him doubtfully, turned, and left the store. Just as she walked into an ally, Liu Shiliu suddenly appeared next to her.
Duan Yixin raised her eyebrows at him and asked, “Liushiliu, didn’t you say you wouldn’t show up in public?”
“Miss Duan, do you know the name of the grocery store owner?” Liushiliu asked without answering her question.
Duan Yixin shook her head and said, “I only know that my friend calls him Uncle Jin.”
Liushiliu’s eyes darkened when he heard her answer, and he thought, ‘It is indeed him. But why is he here? What was the reason for faking his death in the first place?’
While thinking, he looked at Duan Yixin and thought, ‘Is he here because of Miss Duan’s late grandfather?’
Duan Yixin saw Liushiliu’s cold expression behind his black mask and asked, “What’s wrong? Do you know Uncle Jin?”
Since he didn’t know whether this matter had anything to do with Duan Yixin or not, Liushiliu decided not to involve her in it. He shook his head and said, “No. I don’t know him.”
After a brief answer, he looked at the heavy bamboo basket and said, “Miss Duan, let me help you carry some items.”
Before Duan Yixin could refuse, Liushiliu had already taken out several bags of grain from the bamboo basket. He held the bags in one hand and said, “Miss Duan, since you left the grain store, a group of men have been following you. What do you want to do to them?”
Duan Yixin looked back and saw more than five men observing her in the distance. She looked at Liushiliu again and said calmly, “Teach them a lesson so that they won’t harm others in the future.”
Liushiliu nodded and said, “Yes, Miss Duan.”
After he said that, Duan Yixin walked away while Liushiliu looked at the five men. When the five men saw her walking away, leaving Liushiliu alone, they walked out of their hiding place.
Looking at the bags of grain in Liushiliu’s hand, one of them sneered and said, “Little brother, if you don’t want to die, just hand over the grain in your hand.”
Liushiliu was speechless when he heard the man’s words. He glanced at the sword hanging on his waist and thought, ‘Are they blind or stupid? Did they not see my sword? Or do they think my sword is just a decoration?’
After doubting the intelligence of those people, he looked at their thin bodies. Liushiliu was very sure that he could knock them down without even using his hands.

Seeing that Liushiliu did not respond to his threat, the thin man shouted anxiously, “Are you deaf?! Hand over the food!”
Liushiliu didn’t want to waste his time on them, so he picked up a few stones from the ground. Before the thin man could threaten him again, Liushiliu threw a stone at him.
Pak!
The stone accurately hit the thin man in the middle of his forehead, and a big lump instantly appeared. The thin man didn’t even have a chance to make a sound before he fell to the ground and fainted.
Thud!
