Chapter 532: Chapter 235 Fate-killing Trap_2

Just by casually killing a few participants, the resources they could obtain would be enough for them to cultivate to the Qi Training Peak.

Moreover, on another level, the inheritances gained by these accomplished Loose Cultivators were peculiar and numerous, many of which were from the Demon Path. Quite a few people wanted to use the slaughter brought by this trial to clandestinely cultivate the methods of the Demon Path inheritances.

Time slowly passed in the Endless Void, and when the remaining number of people dropped to 800, the pace of elimination finally slowed down.

The cultivators from sects and noble families had begun to consciously gather together after experiencing the initial chaos.

Although there would be only one ultimate victor, these gathered sects and noble families were well aware that there was no need to fight to the death at this early stage of the Secret Realm trial.

After an initial exchange and sharing of information, almost all of the gathered cultivators had the same thought cross their minds.

“Behind this Secret Realm Square-Inch, there must be a tremendous conspiracy!”

A sect’s small team, consisting of a dozen or so people, walked across the wasteland. A young cultivator at the early stage of Spirit Transmutation had a palm-sized turtle perched on his shoulder.

This turtle’s cultivation had already reached the Spirit Transmutation Peak. It waved its short limbs and an old voice emerged from its mouth, saying:

“I once entered the scripture depository of a blessed land, where I perused many travelogs and legends about Secret Realms.

In some ancient legends, it was mentioned by cultivators that the great powers who created Secret Realms, leaving behind numerous secret treasures to attract others to the trial, were not conducting a mere test of the younger generation.

A trialist following the rules of a Secret Realm is just an ordinary trial.

But when the number of trialists reaches hundreds or thousands, and they all follow the incomplete rules of a Secret Realm to do the same thing, it already represents the power of some sort of ritual on some level.

This ritual has no effect on us, but for the creator of the Secret Realm, it can guide the direction of the Great Dao to some extent, or refine a secret treasure, a Divine Skill.”

“At this stage, the cultivators who are able to enter the Secret Realm Square-Inch, aside from the Netherworld Demon Gods and Spirit Refining True Beings, most are the favored children of this Age of Spirit Energy Tide.

Yet the Secret Realm Square-Inch allows so many favored children to slaughter one another, a cruelty unprecedented even in ancient records.

Behind all this, there must be a hidden colossal secret!”

Similar words weren’t just spoken within one sect’s team.

A team of cultivators maneuvered a Spirit Boat, drifting over the vast sea.

Next to a young woman, a blue phoenix spoke seriously:

“Even the selection for the true inheritance of the Blood River Yuan Slaughter Path from ten thousand years ago wasn’t this merciless.

The 10 Great Grotto Heavens Sacred Lands, the 36 Little Grotto Heavens, the 72 Blessed Lands, the Netherworld Demon Gods, the dynastic noble families, the exceptional Loose Cultivators, all have entered the fray; even Old Monster Kuang, if he were here, would have to revere the means of this Secret Realm’s master by three parts.”

At the summit of a towering peak, an Ancient Elder, concealing his Spirit Refining aura, stood atop the mountain, his turbid gaze sweeping over the helter-skelter space partitioned by immense power, his eyes flashing with shock.

In this place, almost at the highest point of the Secret Realm, streams of Pure Spirit Qi roamed above the Ninth Heavens. Occasionally a strand drifted onto the summit, and the cultivators behind the Ancient Elder felt as though the dust within their hearts was swept away, their thoughts becoming clear in a flash.

Some sect Disciples stared with infatuation at the Pure Spirit Qi above the Ninth Heavens, yearning to step into it.

“Origin-purifying Xuanzhen Qi?”

The Ancient Elder’s voice carried an unprecedented solemnity.

“With both clean and turbid Qi dividing heaven and earth, the Pure Spirit Qi above these Ninth Heavens seems to be the very Origin-purifying Xuanzhen Qi.

I fear that even the reserves of Origin-purifying Xuanzhen Qi in the Little Clarity Void Grotto Heavens are far less than those in this Secret Realm Square-Inch.”

Upon hearing this, the faces of the True Disciples behind the Ancient Elder revealed a look of joy:

“Is the Ancient Elder referring to the Supreme World Qi, Origin-purifying Xuanzhen Qi, known as the essence of cultivation?

This is the unspoken treasure of the Qingxu Sky, and there is so much of it above the Ninth Heavens; if we were to collect some, wouldn’t it be…”

“Fool!” the Ancient Elder reprimanded coldly:

“Have you still not realized by now that this so-called Secret Realm is not really a Secret Realm, but a special little world created by opening heaven and earth.

This so-called Secret Realm rule isn’t simply explainable by a mere trial but is a Fate-killing Trap laid by the Secret Realm’s creator with supreme power!”

“This Secret Realm trial involves the fate-carrying individuals from a three thousand year Spirit Energy Tide, and yet it resolves things through slaughter, an event unprecedented.

I suspect this is a Fate-killing Trap.”

The Disciples of various sects behind the Ancient Elder were startled: “True Being, what is a Fate-killing Trap?”

Standing atop the mountain summit, the Ancient Elder wore a Taoist robe, hands clasped behind his back, exuding the disposition of an immortal.

“The so-called Fate-killing Trap is, according to legend, a trap laid by Upper World mighty beings across the realms, targeting individuals who carry fate.

Once such a person enters the trap, they cannot escape; if they concede and comply with the controller of the layout, then their fate would fall and they would struggle to amount to anything significant. Should they fail, their soul would return to the dark Hell, their body destroyed and their path vanished.

Upper World mighty beings use this trap to ambush and kill the prodigies of a realm, weakening the fate of that realm, thereby controlling the realm with their Great Divine Powers!”

Upon hearing such an alarming revelation, many of the sect cultivators inhaled sharply, hastily asking:

“Ancient Elder, what should we do then?”

Upon hearing this, the Ancient Elder’s turbid eyes glanced to the cultivator who had spoken.

“What are you worried about? You are not a person who carries great fate; conceding early would only result in a minor loss of fate, nothing significant.”
