Chapter 139: Stephanie Drops The Bomb
On the other hand, while Olivia was still crying over the loss of her selfies with Mrs. Scott as she was now only left with the blurred-out one on her Instagram page, Aurora was enjoying a simple breakfast with Xander.
Just then, Liam walked in to report to Aurora about the thing she asked for. “We have cleared every one of those photos from her phone’s memory.”
“Thank you,” Aurora said before dismissing him. Then turning to Xander, she informed him about her Aunt’s coming. “She will be here in two days.”
“That’s fine by me,” he said before adding a little caution. “But be sure not to reveal too much to her.”
Aurora said she understood since the lesson she learnt yesterday night still haunted her. She wasn’t going to trust anyone so easily again and every information about her personal life would remain private.
After breakfast, Liam met Xander privately to discuss something important.
“Sir, our team found the location of the waiter’s wife in Mexico in the early hours of this morning,” Liam reported as a deep sigh of relief escaped Xander’s lips.
“Find out everything she knows about her husband and Adam Swift’s death,” Xander instructed, her eyes blazing with authority.
“Yes, Sir,” Liam bowed politely before walking away.

TWO DAYS LATER.
Stephanie arrived at Xander’s private residence and was welcomed by the butler. And just as she stepped into the sitting area, Aurora emerged from the kitchen.
“Aunt Stephanie, welcome,” she greeted her Aunt warmly before taking the seat next to hers.
Stephanie inquired how Aurora was doing and Aurora asked about the company and the latest updates. After filling her in, Stephanie asked about the wine she had come for.
“The wine and the steak are ready,” Aurora confirmed with a smile before leading the way to the dining table.
Just five bites into the steak and three sips from the wine and Stephanie was satisfied. “This combination is unique. Now, you will just have to give the recipe to the winery to perfect the taste as we already have blue grapes that have been fermented for months. Your wine will even taste better if made with them.”
Aurora agreed to her suggestion and went on to share more details about the wine, including the report she was walking on.
“Using the blue grapes that have been fermenting in the winery for months to make the wine will draw its release date near. At least we won’t have to wait until a year or two. Also, I have some other ideas which I will share with you when I come to work on Monday. I’m still working on the report.”
“Are you well enough to resume work on Monday?” Stephanie asked, but almost immediately, she shook her head. “Don’t answer the question,” she said, looking Aurora in the eyes. “Bring your doctor’s report with you whenever you are ready to return.”
Aurora relaxed into her chair with a smile, “That’s no problem.”
After having dinner, Aurora and Stephanie moved back to the sitting area to chat about a more serious course. But first, they started with a light conversation.
“I saw Olivia’s Instagram post,” Stephanie started, giving Aurora a meaningful glance with a hint of suspicion in her tone. “Did she actually meet ‘Mrs. Scott’ or someone else?”
“It depends solely on Olivia.” The corners of Aurora’s lips curled into a smile as she refused to reveal more details. “So, Aunt, what is this confidential conversation you had with my father that you wanted to share with me?” she inquired, crossing her leg over the other.
Stephanie managed a small smile, withholding her probing. “On the morning your father died, he called me into his study to talk about some things that have been weighing deeply in his mind. Vintage Cellar was one of them, but the most important one was about Olivia.”
“What about Olivia?” Aurora’s brows furrowed slightly sensing the seriousness of the truth she was about to learn.
“Days before your father tasked you two with producing a new product for the company, he had accidentally found out that Olivia wasn’t his daughter,” Stephanie revealed, her tone grave.
Instantly, Aurora uncrossed her leg and leaned out from the couch, her lashes blinking in shock. “What! A-Aunt, I-I don’t understand a word you said. Do you mind repeating that?”
Stephanie exhaled deeply as silence ensued in the room. She didn’t utter another word until almost another minute had passed. “Stella deceived your father for years. Olivia is not his daughter by DNA.”
“Is that even possible?” Aurora asked without thinking, her voice shaking with a light tremor.

Yes, Stella was capable of anything, but to pin another man’s pregnancy on her father and deceive him for so many years? Aurora doubted that, and she had wanted to ask Stephanie if she was sure of her statement, but quickly rephrased it.
“Dad found out that Olivia wasn’t his daughter and didn’t confront Stella about it? How?”
Stephanie shook her head. “He didn’t see any need to confront Stella about it for a few reasons. One, confronting her wouldn’t change anything no matter how hurt he was as he didn’t have any energy for the fight. Two, dealing with the truth the way he would have wanted would ruin him, the family and the company. Three, he was already too old to try and father another child that would directly come from him, so he left everything as it was.”
One statement that Stephanie made struck Aurora strongly. In the end, Adam never had any biological child even though he was a father to two girls. This made her wonder about the kind of pain Adam must have been in after learning that painful truth.
What Stella did to Adam was the highest form of betrayal ever recorded in the world’s history.
Aurora no longer felt hurt by what Stella did to her, but rather she was devastated by her wicked actions towards her father.
How could Stella make Adam raise a child that didn’t belong to him as his own for so many years? That woman sure did have a lot of guts.
