Chapter 177: Olivia’s Podcast Interview (II)
“You’re not ruining anything,” Jenna reassured her warmly. “Take your time.”
Olivia nodded, seemingly collecting herself. “To be honest, I don’t remember everything that happened that night. It’s painful—too painful to relive. I hope you understand if I prefer not to discuss it further.”
The lights in the studio dimmed slightly, focusing on Olivia as she leaned into the plush chair across from the host. The camera zoomed in subtly, capturing her carefully composed expression as the host transitioned into one of the most anticipated parts of the podcast.
Jenna respected the boundary, shifting to the next topic. “Fair enough. Let’s lighten things up a bit. Here’s a question fans have been dying to know—what’s the future of your marriage to Owen? After everything that’s happened, is there hope?”
Olivia released a sharp scoff, which quickly transformed into a bout of laughter. She wiped a tear of mirth from her eye and shook her head. “I had no idea people were so invested in my marriage! Honestly, Owen and I are navigating things one day at a time, just like any couple. Divorce? It’s not on the table.”
“You know, Olivia,” Jenna began with a knowing smile, “a lot of people are so interested in your marriage—not just because of the drama, but also because you and Owen are public figures. You’re part of two of the biggest families in Wing City. Privacy must feel like a luxury you can’t afford.”
Olivia let out a soft laugh, masking the bitterness threatening to rise within her. “You’re absolutely right,” she said, her voice smooth. “I’ve come to accept that my life is an open book for many people. Privacy is… well, let’s just say it’s a rare commodity. But it’s my reality, and I’ve learned to navigate it.”
The host leaned forward slightly, her curiosity piqued. “How does your mother feel about all of this? Surely, she has strong opinions about everything going on in your marriage.”
Olivia’s smile didn’t falter as she carefully composed her response. “My mother is an incredible woman. She’s watched me go through some of the toughest moments in my life, and of course, like any loving mother, she has her reservations. But at the end of the day, she respects my decisions and supports me wholeheartedly.” Olivia’s voice softened as she added, “She’s the best mother in the world.”
Jenna tilted her head, her expression thoughtful. “Would you say she’s been pushing for a divorce between you and Owen?”
Olivia chuckled lightly, sidestepping the question. “If you were in her shoes, what would you do?” she asked, turning the question back on Jenna with a playful smile.
Jenna grinned, catching onto Olivia’s tactic. “Fair enough. If I were your mother, though… well, based on some of the reports out there, I might suggest a divorce. But what do I know?”
Both women laughed lightly, easing the tension in the room, though Olivia felt her guard rise.
Jenna’s tone grew more serious as she transitioned into her next question. “Now, this might be a bit sensitive, but I feel it’s important to address. There have been rumours circulating about complications from your miscarriage. Is it true that you might not be able to conceive again?”
For a moment, Olivia’s composure faltered. Her eyes glistened, and she tilted her head slightly, as though shielding herself from the weight of the question. After a pause, she spoke, her voice tinged with both vulnerability and defiance.
“I don’t care about the medical reports,” she began, her gaze fixed on the host. “Or what the doctors have said. I have faith in God that I will carry my own child when the time is right.”
Jenna nodded supportively, her expression warm. “That’s a beautiful sentiment, Olivia. And I’m sure many of your fans will find strength in your resilience.”
Olivia offered a small, grateful smile, though inside she felt a wave of relief as the host moved on.
“How has the Scott family responded to this situation, if you don’t mind me asking?”
The question was expected, and Olivia answered smoothly. “They’ve been incredibly supportive. They thought I was going to leave the family after my miscarriage, so they begged me to stay. They treat me like their own daughter, and for that, I’m grateful.”
Jenna beamed. “It sounds like you’re very lucky to have such caring in-laws.”
“I truly am,” Olivia replied, her smile calculated. She didn’t even feel lying was difficult anymore. At least mixing it up with a bit of truth was enough spice to stay connected.

The next topic shifted to Olivia’s family dynamics, particularly her relationship with Aurora.
Jenna leaned forward, her tone curious but playful. “So, tell me—are you and Aurora rivals like the blogs make you out to be?”
Olivia laughed lightly, waving off the idea. “Rivals? I don’t even know what that means when it comes to my sister. She’s my blood, and I will always wish her well.”
Jenna nodded but wasn’t done yet. “Speaking of Aurora, she recently became the COO of your family’s company, Vintage Cellar. How did you feel when she won that position, especially since it was a competition between the two of you?”
Olivia’s smile froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered. “Disappointed in myself, of course, but proud of what I accomplished. My ‘Spraying Champagne’ was a unique idea that saved the company from waste. And I think everyone sees the brilliance behind it now.”
The host nodded thoughtfully. “Did you congratulate Aurora on her win?”

“Of course!” Olivia said, her smile broadening. “I’ve always wished her well. Besides, I gave her a few tips that I’m sure she will remember for a long time.”
“Care to share one of those tips?” the host asked, her tone teasing.
Olivia chuckled, shaking her head. “Even a million dollars wouldn’t get me to spill that secret!”
Though the tips Olivia meant were about spilling the truth about Aurora’s biological father’s identity she just had to insinuate her words that way and let everyone assume that she helped Aurora out with her Fruit Punch Champagne.

As the interview wrapped up, the host, Jenna, clapped lightly, her enthusiasm genuine. “Thank you, Olivia, for joining us today and sharing your story. It’s been an absolute pleasure.”
“The pleasure’s all mine,” Olivia replied with a radiant smile, though inside, she couldn’t wait to leave the studio. She was relieved to have dodged any major pitfalls during the interview and exhaled deeply.
