Chapter 208: Coming from A Place of Love
Olivia was still busy shouting threats while throwing more stones at the windows when six men in black suddenly appeared from the corners and rounded her.
“Don’t you dare come close to me otherwise, one of you is going to get hurt!” She threatened as her gaze quickly took them in.
Olivia didn’t want to leave without seeing Owen, but since he already knew what she wanted, he avoided her presence and instead stood in front of the window, hands in his pockets, watching as she was captured and dragged away.
No matter how much Olivia screamed about being violated and how her lawyer was going to keep in touch, the bodyguards dragged her away.
They only stopped until they had thrown her outside the gates along with her back.
Olivia seethed in rage as an invisible smoke rose from her ears and nose. “You bastards! I will never forgive you for this! You lots will burn in hell along with your families forever!”

On the other hand, Xander took Aurora outside the house for a stroll just like he had told her. However, shortly after, he received a call from Asher, who informed him about the success of their evacuation.
“Did she pass out or get burnt at least?” he asked, lowering his tone, but Aurora still heard him and narrowed her gaze.
“Unfortunately, none of that happened as we were too swift with our exit plan,” Asher informed with a tinge of regret in his tone. “We’ve put out the fire by the way. And not much damage was done.”
Xander looked away from Aurora and continued their conversation. “Thanks for the good work. We will discuss this another time. I took my wife back to visit my parents.”
“I see. Extend my greetings to your wife. Good night,” Asher said.
After terminating the call, Xander put his phone away and turned to see Aurora staring at him.
“So, did she get a scratch or get smoked in the fire?” she asked without missing a beat.
Xander shook his head. “Unfortunately, she left unscathed. But there will be more opportunities to deal with her.”
Aurora agreed with him but had a different alternative. “I don’t want Olivia ruining my family’s name along with hers as much as I enjoy it. So, if worse comes to worst, put her in a mental asylum and leave her there until she gets better.”
“I will do as you say,” Xander said to her before stepping in to take her hand in his. “I have something important I think you should be aware of.”
Seeing how his gaze turned serious, Aurora’s brows furrowed. “What is it?” she asked as the scene from the kitchen replayed in her head.
She wondered if he would tell her about what his mother was about to reveal before he interrupted their conversation.
“It’s about the chip that was removed from your head,” Xander started, holding her gaze. Aurora’s heart rate increased, but she urged him to continue despite her emotions.
“To find the source, I ran some tests only to discover that it is my company’s product,” Xander finished.
Aurora was stunned into silence and couldn’t speak as different narrative swirled in her head. Her mouth was agape as surprise flashed across her eyes.
“Wait… What?”
Xander confirmed the crazy truth with a nod. “Unfortunately, my parents are involved since your own parents got the chip from them.”
Just as Aurora was still trying to digest this revelation, Xander continued by apologising to her. “I’m sorry I hid this from you. My intention was for you not to be hurt by anyone else you see as family again as you had recently experienced some deep emotional pain.”
Xander laid all his cards on the table by telling her all about his parents’ involvement and how he asked them to keep the truth to themselves because he didn’t want her to relapse.
“I will understand if you are mad at me,” Xander continued as Aurora’s silence frightened him a bit. He would rather she hit him or throw a tantrum rather than stand right there with her gaze glued to his face.
“You trusted me, and I wasn’t supposed to keep this information from you even though I thought it was what was best for you at that time.”

Finally, Aurora reacted, but the question she asked was unexpected.
“This stuff happened about two months back. Why are you telling me about it now? What made you change your mind?”
Xander tightened his hold on her, afraid she might walk away from him in anger. He would hate for that reaction from her. It would burn him.
“My mum was going to tell you about it, and for selfish reasons, I wanted you to hear it from my lips because I found the truth and hid it from you. It was only right that you heard it from me so you can stay less mad at me.”
Though Xander’s truth called for laughter, this wasn’t the right time.
“Good one.” Having heard his explanation, Aurora nodded as she slowly pried her hands off his hold.
“I feel good that you hid this from me from a place of love. Thank you for my mental health because I wouldn’t have been able to take the news,” saying this, Aurora resumed her steps.
Immediately, Xander followed her, relieved she wasn’t showing any signs of anger. He patiently waited for her to continue as his steps matched hers.
“I also want you to know that I’m not mad at you or your parents. If they hadn’t complied and given the chip to my parents, they would have gotten it from another source and carried on with their plans.” Smiling, Aurora cocked her head to the side. “I have chosen to forget about the demons from the past and move on with my life because I love progress a lot. Therefore, I shouldn’t entertain any hindrances on my path.”
In essence, Aurora was saying that she had chosen to let go of the past events that hurt so deeply so she could survive peacefully.
