Chapter 210: Olivia’s Nonchalant Attitude
“You don’t have to apologize on that woman’s behalf.” Xander squeezed Aurora’s hand gently as his gaze softened. “She doesn’t deserve it. She needs to own up to her own mistake.”
Aurora flashed him a small smile, bringing an end to the conversation.
“You haven’t seen the room I used to live in before. Come, I will take you to it,” Xander suddenly said as he took her hand and helped her up from the sofa before turning to his parents.
He bid them ‘goodnight’. Aurora did the same before he led her away.
He took her straight up the stairs while chatting about a bit of his childhood and why his parents loved to live in the old house rather than the main residence.
“As you already know, the drama is too much for them to beat, so they prefer leaving together in seclusion and minding their business.”
Aurora nodded in understanding. As she was a peaceful person, she couldn’t live in a toxic environment. People like the old Scott couple would experience a spike in their sugar levels or heart rate because of the conflicts.
Due to their old age, they preferred choosing a healthy lifestyle far away from the drama.
“I’m grateful that your private villa is secluded, and only a handful of people know about its precise location,” Aurora said thoughtfully. “I feel we would need more peace in the future.”
“Good idea,” Xander smiled before adding, in contrast to their topic of conversation, “I’m taking the tattoos off on Saturday.”
Aurora grinned. “I will miss them. Just let me kiss them one last time tonight.”
“As your heart pleases,” Xander accepted as they turned up in front of a door by their left in the hallway. The next second, he bent the door handle and pushed it open.
“After you, Ma’am,” he said to Aurora as he stepped out of the way and gave her the chance to go in before him.
Xander showed Aurora around the bedroom which reflected his taste back in the days. It wasn’t anything wonderful, but Aurora did enjoy sitting at the foot of his bed and going through his family album.
“I have never met your second brother in person,” Aurora said as she stared at the grand family picture before her.
“You will. In due time,” Xander promised.

Meanwhile, after Olivia was chased away from the Scott Family’s old house, she was left with not much choice but to return to the Swift residence. All the same, muttering curses under her breath.
Today, she almost lost her life. But when she returned to the family, she found a new home with, she was treated like filth and sent away.
How could she ever let go of the mistreatment?
Also, Olivia had to battle another problem in her mind. She had been missing for the past two days straight without a trace. She definitely had to face her mother now after leaving her calls and texts unanswered.
Finally arriving at the Swift residence, Olivia ignored the servants’ greetings and trotted inside, looking a bit dishevelled.
The race from the burning house in the woods to the way the bodyguards at both Scott’s houses manhandled her was really enough to look out of place.
To Olivia’s surprise, both her mother and Aunt were still awake by the time she stepped into the house. They were just different places.
Olivia found Stephanie watching the late-night news in the living room and wanted to sneak away. Unfortunately, it was already too late for that.
“Is that you, Olivia?” Stephanie asked, surprise in her tone as she took off her reading glasses, her gaze taking her in.
Olivia rolled her eyes before slowly turning back around. She was forced to make her way over. “Yes, it is I.”
“Your mother said you were missing and reported the situation to the police. You got everyone worried. Care to explain your whereabouts?” Stella demanded.
“I was devastated and depressed after you suspended me. I had to go into seclusion for my mental health’s sake. And I hope you were very much at peace with my absence.”

There was a hint of blame in Olivia’s tone. In fact, if it was left for her alone, she would have directly told Stephanie to her face that she didn’t have any right to question her whereabouts.
But because that woman still had a lot of power in her hands to actually kick her out of the company she hadn’t yet given up on, she had to word her thoughts carefully.
Stephanie scoffed at her response. She wasn’t even surprised. “Your mother blamed me as well.” Letting out a soft sigh, she added before returning her gaze to the TV and putting her glasses back, “You are still far from having learnt any lessons.”
A scowl appeared on Olivia’s face. Before she could depict whether that was a threat regarding her return to Vintage Cellar, her mother showed up in quickened steps.
“Olivia, where have you been? You didn’t return my calls and my texts, you almost gave me a heart attack!”
Stella panted as she bombarded her with question after question without a pause until she was done.
Olivia snapped her head to the wide. Her gaze fell on her mother’s face, taking in her furrowed brows and the streak of concern in her eyes. Still, that did nothing to move her.
“Mum, if I may ask, why are you worried about me?”
Stella blinked a few times, trying to understand the reason for that question. “Olivia, you are my daughter. You went off the radar without leaving any message. Isn’t that enough reason to be worried?”
Olivia gave a headshake. “No, Mum. Although I can’t force you to stop worrying about me since I’m not in charge of your emotions, I would prefer you stay out of my business.”
After making that statement, Olivia finally smiled and turned to walk away, neither talking about her forceful kidnap nor the mistreatment she received from Owen and his family.
