Chapter 304: Owen is Off the Market
By the time Xander arrived to pick Aurora up, the evening had set in. He greeted his mother the same way he always did, sitting down for a brief moment to catch up and eat some salads as he didn’t want to eat anything else.

When asked about his meeting, he replied, “It went well.”

Then, Old Mrs. Scott dropped unexpected news. “Owen is getting married again,” she said.

Xander’s fork paused mid-air. Aurora, who had been relaxing on the couch, blinked in surprise.

“Where did you hear that?” Xander asked.

“Your brother, Richard, told me last night.”

Xander and Aurora exchanged a look.

“It’s only been a few weeks since his divorce,” Xander muttered. “Why the rush?”

Old Mrs. Scott’s next words explained it all. “The woman he’s marrying is pregnant.”

Xander set his fork down. Aurora sat up straighter.

“And the wedding is in two weeks,” Old Mrs. Scott added. “Which means Owen will be bringing his new wife to the family vacation.”

Xander exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “Aurora and I won’t be attending that wedding,” he declared, and he wasn’t even joking about it.

Old Mrs. Scott sighed but didn’t push the matter.

When it was time to leave, Xander took Aurora’s hand, and they bid his mother farewell.

On the way home, Aurora didn’t mention Owen or his wedding. Instead, she turned to Xander to ask about something more important.

“Are we taking a private jet for the family Christmas trip?”

Xander smirked. “Of course.”

Then, as an afterthought, he added, “By the way, your stepmother’s final hearing is next two weeks Friday. A day before Dante Group’s 40th anniversary. We can finally know the judgement on her case by then.”

Aurora nodded solemnly, her mind briefly shifting to Stella. But tonight, she chose to focus on her peace.

Owen and Juliet got married in a very private wedding held at the Scott family’s main residence, with only a family members and a few friends in attendance.

And like Xander had said to his mother, he didn’t turn up at the wedding Aurora instead, he took his wife to the beach to play on that very day.
