Chapter 331: Olivia’s Ticket to Freedom
Olivia exhaled sharply and leaned forward. “I did not push Juliet,” she stated, her voice filled with frustration. “Yes, I thought about it. Yes, I was furious. But I never laid a hand on her.”
Stephanie searched Olivia’s face for any sign of dishonesty, but years of dealing with her niece had made her skeptical. “Then, why would Juliet frame you?”
“Because we hate each other, Aunt Stephanie!” Olivia snapped. “She saw an opportunity and she took it! Before she fell, she was provoking me—telling me how she and Casey plotted to ruin my life and destroy my marriage with Owen.”
Stephanie let out a tired sigh, rubbing her temples. “Whether you did it or not, Olivia, the Scott family won’t let this go. The baby is in critical condition, and if anything happens to that child, you will be thrown in prison for a very long time.”
Olivia swallowed hard. Her throat suddenly felt dry, and her fingers curled into fists. She didn’t know the situation was this serious.
And that monster Owen would never spare even a strand of her hair.
“You should pray,” Stephanie continued, her tone laced with finality. “Pray that some evidence shows up to prove your innocence, or that Juliet wakes up and changes her statement. Because if not, Olivia, you are done for. And it’s going to take months to clean up the aftermath of your mess on both our family name, and the company.”
Olivia clenched her jaw, refusing to show the fear gripping her heart.
Stephanie stood, smoothing down her coat. “I’ll keep making inquiries, but I won’t waste my energy if you’re lying to me.” She turned to leave but paused at the door. “Think carefully about everything that happened, Olivia. If you truly didn’t push her, then something must exist that can prove it.”
The moment Stephanie left, Olivia shot up to her feet, pacing the small holding cell. Her heart was racing, her hands trembling slightly.
“Even though Owen and Juliet deserve to lose that baby, I’m not going to prison for it,” she muttered under her breath.
She needed to find a way out of this mess. And soon.
But still, she couldn’t stop thinking about how she fell for Juliet’s temptation and trap. She should have known that she had everything planned out otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so confident.
Olivia took a sharp inhale of breath as she slapped her forehead. “I am a big fool for listening to that cunning white lotus bitch!”
Stopping in her steps, she seethed, “Juliet, just die while at it because if you survive this, I will personally kill you with my hands!”
—
Later that afternoon, just as Olivia had calmed herself down, a guard opened the cell door. “You have another visitor.”
Olivia frowned. “Is that my Aunt again?” She couldn’t think of anyone who could come to visit her again.
Aurora would be the last person to try.
But as for her friends, they wouldn’t want to entangle themselves in this mess, so they would stay away.
“No,” the officer said before stepping aside.
A slow, mocking clap filled the room as a familiar figure walked in.
Victor.
Olivia’s stomach twisted with disgust. “What the hell are you doing here?” His thought never even crossed her mind, so she was both furious and surprised at his presence.
Victor smirked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his tailored pants. “Oh, Olivia… It’s so nice to see you behind bars. I have to admit, orange would look stunning on you. But it would be perfect if you are right next to your mother.”
“Get out!” Olivia snapped, crossing her arms.
But Victor didn’t move. Instead, he chuckled, leaning slightly against the metal bars. “Relax. I just came to see how you were doing. I mean, this is just too good. Olivia Swift, the mighty heiress, about to rot in a prison cell. This is poetic justice.”
Olivia gritted her teeth. “You treacherous bastard!”
Victor feigned a gasp. “Is that any way to speak to someone who came bearing good news?”
She scoffed. “What good news could you possibly have for me except trying to bring you condescending self down below my feet?”

Victor grinned, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone. “Oh, just a little something I think you might find life-saving.”
Olivia watched with narrowed eyes as he scrolled through his gallery before selecting a video.
Then, he pressed play.
The second Olivia saw the footage, her entire body went still.
The screen showed everything, from the moment Juliet blocked her path, to the way she taunted her, boasting about her and Casey’s scheme.
Then, the fall.
Juliet had been standing at the edge of the step when she miscalculated her footing, lost her balance, and tumbled down on her own.
And there was Olivia, standing frozen in shock before running after her.
Olivia’s lips parted in disbelief. ‘He had it? The proof of her innocence?’
The video ended, and Victor casually slipped his phone back into his pocket.
“Looks like I’m the only person who can save you,” he said smugly. “But…” He lifted his palm up and wiggled his fingers. “It comes with a price.”
Olivia’s eyes darkened as she took a gamble even though she knew that he couldn’t be trusted. “What do you want?”
Victor’s smirk widened. “Simple. $500,000.”
Her nostrils flared. “You’re insane.”
Victor shrugged. “I call it a reasonable trade. Your freedom in exchange for what…? A little pocket change for someone like you?”
“You’re a damn thief!” Olivia spat.
“And you’re a criminal in the eyes of the law,” he countered smoothly. “Unless, of course, you want to stay here and fight this case with zero evidence?”
Olivia glared at him, her fists clenching so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.
Victor’s smirk never faltered. “Take your time, Olivia. I will be waiting for your call.”
Then, with a slow, arrogant turn, he walked out of the room.
As soon as he was gone, Olivia let out a scream of rage, kicking the metal bench in frustration.
Victor had her fate in his hands, so was she to bow to him?
