Chapter 334: Aurora Strikes A Deal with Victor
The next day…
The morning was like any other at Vintage Cellar, the faint hum of activity filling the corridors as employees moved about their duties. Aurora Swift sat in her office, reviewing some documents when a soft knock came at the door.
“Come in,” she said without looking up.
Her assistant, Linda, stepped inside, carrying a sealed envelope. “Ma’am, a letter came for you. It’s from Director Olivia.”
Aurora’s brows furrowed in mild surprise. Olivia? What could she possibly want from her?
Aurora took the envelope, nodding in dismissal. As Linda exited the office, she turned the letter over in her hands, debating whether to open it.
With a deep breath, she broke the seal and unfolded the crisp paper inside.
Her eyes scanned the words carefully.
“Aunt Stephanie visited me in custody. She offered to help me get out, but only if I agreed to sell half of my shares in Vintage Cellar to her…
Aurora’s grip on the paper tightened. Their aunt was trying to take advantage of Olivia’s predicament?
Her gaze flickered back to the letter.
…Victor, that insufferable playboy, has evidence that proves I didn’t push Juliet. But he’s demanding $500,000 for it. I can’t afford that. Aurora, I need your help. Put our past behind you. I will repay you as soon as I get the money.”
Aurora set the letter down, exhaling deeply.
‘So Olivia was telling the truth?’ Aurora thought to herself as she leaned back in her chair, staring at the ceiling, her thoughts tangled.
Aurora also realized three things after reading that letter: First, Olivia didn’t push Juliet. Two, Victor had the proof all along. Three, Stephanie was trying to secure more power.
Aurora pressed her fingers against her temples.
She didn’t trust Olivia, but if the evidence proved her innocence, was it right to ignore her plea?
Seconds turned into minutes, and finally, Aurora picked up her phone and dialled Nene’s number.
The call connected almost instantly.
“Ma’am?” Nene’s voice came through.
“Nene, tell Liam to schedule a meeting for me with Victor. This afternoon.”
“Victor? The womanizer?” Nene’s voice carried a hint of distaste.
“Yes,” Aurora confirmed, her voice firm.
A pause. Then, “Understood, Ma’am.”
Aurora ended the call and sighed.
—
At noon, Liam drove Aurora to a private restaurant near Vintage Cellar for her meeting with Victor.
Nene sat beside Aurora in the backseat, her worry evident.
“Ma’am, you really shouldn’t have come in person. You could have sent me instead,” she said, frowning.
Aurora placed a gentle hand on her baby bump, smiling softly. “It’s fine, Nene. I want to handle this myself.”

Nene pursed her lips but didn’t argue further.
By the time they arrived, Victor was already seated in the private room. The moment Aurora walked in, he stood up immediately, smoothing down his suit jacket.
Liam pulled out a chair for Aurora. She sat gracefully before he and Nene went to stand behind her, their presence a silent warning to Victor.
“Mrs. Scott,” Victor greeted with a smirk as he took his seat.
Aurora didn’t waste time. “I will get straight to the point.”
Victor arched a brow, intrigued.
“I hear you have evidence proving Olivia’s innocence. And you’re demanding half a million dollars for it.”
Victor chuckled, resting his chin on his knuckles. “Did Olivia come crying to you about it?”
Aurora didn’t answer. She merely watched him with an unreadable expression.
Victor’s smirk faltered. Clearing his throat, he leaned back, seeing that he had crossed the line. “Yes, I have the evidence. And yes, my price is $500,000.”
Aurora extended her hand slightly. “I would like to see the video.”
Victor hesitated. Then, with a sigh, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his phone. He unlocked it, scrolled through his gallery, and played the video.
Just as he was about to hand it to Aurora, Liam intercepted him, taking the phone instead and passing it to Aurora.
Aurora’s sharp eyes watched the footage carefully.
She saw the moment of confrontation between Olivia and Juliet. She saw how Juliet had intentionally provoked Olivia.
And most importantly, she saw the exact moment Juliet missed a step and fell on her own.
Aurora handed the phone back to Liam, who in turn passed it to Victor.
Victor visibly relaxed, as if he had been worried she might confiscate his phone.
Aurora spoke, her tone cool. “I will offer you a cheque for that video.”
As if on cue, Nene retrieved a fresh cheque from Aurora’s bag and handed it to Liam. Liam placed it in front of Victor.
Victor picked it up, glancing at the amount.
His brows furrowed. “$125,000?” He lifted his gaze, disbelief flashing in his eyes.
Aurora remained unfazed. “That’s my offer.”
Victor set the cheque down, shaking his head. “Not enough.”
Aurora’s lips curled into a cold smirk.
“You seem to have forgotten something, Victor.”
His body stiffened.
“You tried to take advantage of me at Olivia’s engagement party,” Aurora reminded him, her voice dangerously calm.
Victor’s throat went dry.
He remembered. And he remembered how Xander had almost broken him apart because of it.
Aurora continued, her gaze piercing. “I haven’t forgotten that. So, consider this a generous payment for your efforts to secure this evidence.”
Victor shifted in his seat. He was uncomfortable. And he had every right to be.
Aurora’s voice remained icy. “Take it, and send the video to me.”
Victor sighed heavily. He was displeased about the deal, but the fear of Xander after Aurora’s subtle threat was the beginning of wisdom.
Victor picked up the cheque, stared at it for a moment, then finally pocketed it. Reaching for his phone, he tapped a few buttons and sent the file.
A few seconds later, Liam’s phone vibrated.
Victor leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. “You win, Mrs. Scott.”
Aurora stood up. “Thank you for your seamless cooperation”
Then, without another glance, she walked out of the room.
—
Outside the restaurant, the winter air was crisp, carrying a faint chill that made Aurora instinctively pull her coat tighter around her.
Liam opened the car door for her while Nene climbed in on the other side. As Aurora settled into her seat, she turned to Liam and gave him a firm instruction.
“Pass the evidence to the police immediately. Olivia needs to be proven innocent as soon as possible. And prepare the bill of the same amount I spent on Victor today.”
Liam nodded. “Understood, Ma’am.”
Nene, who had been silent for a while, hesitated before asking, “Ma’am, why did you also tell Liam to prepare a bill for Olivia?”
“Because, that’s how much Olivia owes me,” Aurora said cooly.
Nene nodded. She was expecting her to request for $500,000 from Olivia, but it seems she had a different idea.
Liam started the car and drove them back toward Vintage Cellar.
Aurora’s mind wandered back to Stephanie’s attempt to manipulate the situation.
So, Aunt Stephanie wanted Olivia’s shares?
She had overlooked many of her aunt’s little moves before, but not this time.
Her aunt needed to be confronted.
