Chapter 104: Chapter 104 – I won’t get tired of waiting for you
“If you allow me to kiss you deeply, I will tell you something I’ve never told you before.”

The words continued to ring in Valerie’s mind. Ryker had walked her to her room and was standing in front of the door, ready to leave.

She feared she might not see him again if she refused the kiss, being curious to know what he wanted to say but also understood that a kiss was not something she could continue playing with.

Ryker was in love with her, and she could not feel the same way about him. It would be heartless of her to keep leading him on. “I’m sorry, Ryker, but I can’t.”

Ryker was disappointed but forced a smile. No wonder the moon goddess told him to make Valerie fall in love with him. It was because she knew how cold Valerie’s heart had become.

Still, Ryker was determined to win her heart in one way or another. It hadn’t been long, but with an Alpha wolf, he didn’t know how to pursue a woman this way.

It was not like asking a woman for a dance in a club. “I would wait, Val. I won’t get tired of waiting for you,” he said and left.

Valerie was instantly encased in a blanket of loneliness. Ryker was beginning to be a part of her life. She could not afford losing him but why couldn’t she love him? Even if she did, they would have no future.

Alpha Denzel would never allow her to be with another man to have her freedom. For as long as she knew, she was his slave, and slaves had no right of their own.

As she thought about it, she decided that it was better to let things be and better still, she should learn to endure the loneliness, rather than yearning for Ryker’s company. That would only keep giving him hope that something could eventually happen between them.

Sleep stole her as soon as she laid on her right side on the couch since her left shoulder was injured. When would her freedom come?

At the Litha Moon Pack, Luna Fernanda was informed about Alpha Denzel’s arrival instead of Alpha Idris, since she was the one always hosting him.

Though surprised that Alpha Denzel had come unannounced, she was still happy to see him, only hoping there wasn’t a problem with his pack or Valerie. The last time he was here, he saved their pack and also got to see and speak to the Moon goddess.

If she had not requested him, then something must have brought him. When she arrived, Alpha Denzel was sorry to disappoint her.

“I’m sorry, Luna Fernanda, but I’m here to see Alpha Idris,” he said with a polite smile. Luna Fernanda pinched him gently on the cheek.

“Since when did you become close?” She asked, feeling happy that her dream of her son and cousin becoming close was slowly coming to pass. With some of her warriors around, he didn’t want to inform her about the information given to him by Alpha Idris to warrant his deciding to help the latter.

He rather said, “he asked me to help him with something so I’m here. I’m sorry I won’t get to spend time with you because there’s so much going on at my pack.”

This time, he found himself hiding things from Luna Fernanda as he could not also add he was using the opportunity to wait for the news about the beta he ordered to be kidnapped.

“I hope everything is well?” Luna Valerie asked, Alpha Denzel responded,

“Very well. I’m trying to give you good news.” He was not going to explain further and hoped she would not ask. If he succeeds, he would not need to tell her but only bring Valerie as proof that he succeeded against the moon goddess as promised.

“Then I wish you all the best,” Luna Valerie said before they went to the pack house together. Alpha Idris had only heard gossip that Alpha Denzel had arrived with his mother going to bring him.

As such, he waited at the entrance, leaving training for his beta, Hugo, and Adira to take charge of. As soon as the cars pulled over, Alpha Idris went to open the door for Alpha Denzel. As the latter stepped out of the car, their palms met firmly in a handshake.

“Alpha Denzel, thank you for making it today.”

“Alpha Idris. One good turn deserves another,” Alpha Denzel responded blankly. Luna Fernanda did not understand what he meant but Alpha Idris did. It was obvious that Alpha Denzel had confirmed his report on Adira and Alpha Conrad.

“Shall we have lunch first? You just arrived on a journey,” Alpha Idris said, hoping that Alpha Denzel would not refuse the banquet he prepared. As a person who doesn’t eat food prepared by just anyone, he could not share a table with Alpha Idris, knowing that his maids must have prepared it.

“I don’t have much time so can we get straight to business?” He asked seriously. Luna Fernanda knew that he was hungry but didn’t want to eat, leaving the duo whip something for Alpha Denzel.

She was just happy to see this interaction between them, as they never saw eyeball to eyeball at first.

“Alright. Let’s go to my office,” Alpha Idris said, slightly disappointed that Alpha Denzel refused to share a meal with him but was relieved from his mother’s words.

“I will bring your food over,” Luna Fernanda said behind them, both men did not refuse. Alpha Idris realized that Alpha Denzel only ate his mother’s food, taking note of it to pre-inform his mother to cook any time Alpha Denzel was coming over.

“Alessia?” Alpha Idris asked, Alpha Denzel replied, “She’s fine.”

Alpha Idris did not dare to ask about Valerie. It was already an honor that Alpha Denzel had driven all the way to come see him and didn’t want to ruin the moment.

Alpha Denzel ended up spending three days at the Litha Moon pack, only eating what was made by Luna Fernanda, before finally receiving the call he has been waiting for.

“Alpha, we have the beta and the human girl. She said her name is Angel.”

Before Alpha Denzel could respond, a knock sounded on the door. The only people he interacted with throughout his stay was Alpha Idris and his mother. As such, he went to get the door after saying, “hold on, I will call you back.”

Alpha Idris, are you finding it hard to slee….” The rest of the words stuck in his throat as he regretted opening the door without being sure of who it was.
