Chapter 107: Chapter 107 –Attack Luna Valerie
“As soon as I return, he would suspect that I had something to do with the disappearance of the human girl. Unless you can return both of us without anyone knowing we even disappeared, I would be a dead man,” Troy suggested, but Alpha Denzel was not ready to gamble with the human girl. It was too risky.
If she got killed, her blood would be on his head as she was innocent of everything. “No. It’s not safe to have a human around the packs. Her family must already be searching for her.”
Troy was amazed at how the Alpha, who carried death with him, was so concerned about giving life, including his own.
“Then what would you do? I won’t give out any information until I’m certain of my safety. My mate is already loyal to him because of me. If I mess things up, then her sacrifices are all in vain,”
Alpha Denzel understood Troy’s dedication to the mate bond, feeling pity for him. If only his mate was equally dedicated, he wouldn’t mind. With a blank expression, he asked, his demeanor elegant after puffing on the cigar once more. “You mean Adira?”
Shock paled Troy’s face. “How did you know?” He was both confused and afraid that Alpha Denzel knew something like that. Or, did he hear it from Alpha Conrad because they were good friends?
Thinking of it again, Alpha Conrad was never a good friend to Alpha Denzel, only being a green snake in green grass, so Alpha Denzel must have found out through other means.
“That is not a matter of importance at the moment. What we would do is to return you to him battered, and you inform him that he was the one we were looking for, except that we took the wrong person,” Alpha Denzel said before adding a warning. “Our identity should not be revealed.”
He did not think it appropriate to reveal Adira’s advances towards him and her one night stand with Alpha Idris. That was a matter between mates, and however they were going to resolve it, he couldn’t bring himself to care about it.
Troy didn’t seem to like the being battered part. The fact that he was a beta did not mean he was immune to pain. “What did I do to deserve being battered?” Fear dulled his eyes, Alpha Denzel indifferently responded.
“It’s the price you have to pay to become the Alpha.”
Well, hearing it from Alpha Denzel’s lips that he was the soon-to-be Alpha of his pack gave him courage. So what if he took some beatings to make it look as if the kidnappers wanted him dead?
“So, what am I supposed to do if I am able to survive?” He asked as that part had not been discussed.
Alpha Denzel’s expression turned cold as he spoke seriously. “You have to do the same thing he did to me. Take back what belongs to me. You can have Godic’s number. He would meet you anywhere to get the money from you. As soon as that is done, I would launch an attack on the Night Shadow Pack, kill Alpha Conrad, and recommend you as the Alpha. Trust me, the peace council would not be able to stand in my way or against me.”
Troy liked the plan, glad to be on Alpha Denzel’s team as he exuded authority. He was also not as cunning as Alpha Conrad, but rather one who called a spade a spade. “I believe you.”

“Alright. I will be counting on it, but should you have any other helpful information, do let me know,” Alpha Denzel said seriously. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Troy wanted to be of more help to him.
“It’s rather unfortunate that I have no idea who the allies are. Alpha Conrad is very secretive.”
Alpha Denzel was the least bothered. He didn’t have to find Alpha Conrad’s allies. They would find him when the inevitable happens. “Don’t worry about it. The moment Conrad takes his last breath, the rest would lift up their heads.”
“Okay.”
“Since you aren’t as difficult as I thought, I would leave now,” Alpha Denzel said, rising to his feet when Troy replied,
“I am not difficult because you are the one involved. It’s a great honor to meet the legendary Alpha Denzel.” He felt as if he just met a god.
Alpha Denzel shook his head, dropped the cigar, and after giving the remaining glass of vodka to Godic, he left. Godic was sure to empty the content in his mouth, feeling like he just shared a drinking glass with a god himself.
Back in Las Vegas, he couldn’t drink from those glasses in Alpha Denzel’s office since he reused them. The current one would not be reused; hence, he kept it as a souvenir.
At the Litha Moon Pack, Alpha Denzel shifted into human form when someone spoke behind him. “I didn’t know that you liked the morning run too.”
Alpha Denzel was surprised to see Alpha Idris so early in the morning. The man was naked, meaning he also just shifted to human form after letting out his wolf.
“Alpha Idris, what would an Alpha do without a morning run? I’m afraid I should be on my way now,” he said, eager to leave. There was more for Valerie to learn, and though hearing from Alessia that her injuries were healing well, he was still desperate to see her.
“So soon?” Alpha Idris asked, seeming disappointed.
“I already spent three days, and you are well abreast with everything. I don’t think my presence is needed anymore.” Alpha Denzel could have left on the second day but was only waiting for news. Remembering Valerie, he casually asked, “can I use your phone? I forgot to carry mine.”
Alpha Idris quickly retrieved his phone on the log where he kept it before going for the run. Alpha Denzel took it, walked a distance, before dialing a number.
“Burke, gather four strong warriors and launch an attack on Luna Valerie. Don’t kill her. I just want to see how strong she is.”
