Chapter 119: Chapter 119 – An abominable question
Alessia was glad to feel Alpha Denzel’s show of emotion. He must have been very worried about her. Though she knew that he loved and cared for her, it was a painful endurance when they hid it from each other. She swallowed tightly and glared at his desk.

“I went for a check around the borders of the pack.”

She realized Alpha Denzel’s eyes were only glued on her, not looking at the hint she was trying to give as he pointed out, “Mindlink couldn’t reach you.”

“I…” She paused. This time, her eyes were pinned on his desk as she spoke. Alpha Denzel followed her gaze and saw the note, moving towards it. Alessia swallowed with relief, knowing that Alpha Conrad was hearing everything she said.

How foolish of him to have an audio tacker on her. Did he think everything was communicated though words, even actions spoke louder than mere words.

“I went a little further,” Alessia said tensely. To have time to read the note, Alpha Denzel said to her, “get me the plan for the omegas community development. I want to have some changes done.”

As Alessia went to retrieve the documents, he read the notes carefully. ‘Adam trapped me with a net laced with silver. I woke up to find Alpha Conrad in the hotel room he took me. I agreed to work for him to save my ass so he gave me the contact of all his informants around the packs except the Alphas.’

‘He said I had to earn it by doing some works. To prove my loyalty to him, I told him about Luna Valerie’s location at the cottage. The bracelet he gave me has a tracker and a speaker so he can hear you and I.’

When Alpha Denzel closed his eyes after reading the note and opened it, they were red. It was just as he suspected. Alpha Conrad crossed the line.

His only joy was in the fact that the thickness of their blood was more than that of water. Alessia could never betray him and found a smart way out of the situation. However, Alpha Denzel intended to trap Alpha Conrad in his own web.

“Where did you get that bracelet?” He asked. Seeing that he wasn’t upset. Alessia knew that he understood the note and was playing along.

“I bought it on my way. I was going to check the prices of items for the omegas in the safe house and it caught my eyes,” she responded smoothly. Alpha Conrad was nodding in satisfaction in his car, as he drove back to the Night shade pack.

“It’s nice,” Alpha Denzel mused, thinking it better to end the conversation since there was a third person indirectly involved. Also, it would be better for Alessia to not do a lot of work at the moment, as everything she says or hear from a pack member, would also equally to go the enemy.

“You look tired. Go have some rest but since you haven’t gotten clothes for the omegas, I would get some in your closet for them. Mind you, Valerie was attacked so I’ve moved her away from the pack.”

He didn’t want to say directly that he was getting the clothes for Valerie but Alessia understood it quite well. However, to prove herself useful to Alpha Conrad, she probed.

“To where?”

Alpha Denzel caught the trick and responded with in a cold tone. “I don’t know yet. I asked some people to get a good place for her. Once she’s safe, they’ll let me know and I’ll inform you.”

It still wasn’t enough for Alessia to give up so she probed further. “Who did you send? I could do the follow up for you,” she volunteered. Alpha Denzel shook his head, impressed at the perfect actress he had as a sister.

“Alessia, you work to hard. I’m afraid of losing you to stress. Go have a good rest,” he said solemnly, Alessia smiled and responded,

Yes, Alpha, I would see you tomorrow.”

When Alpha Denzel stepped out, he mindlinked Burke. “Get Adam to the torture room.”

Due to the peace enjoyed by the packs in recent times, Alpha Denzel never used the torture room for a long time but for bringing his sister close to silver, Adam had to pay.

What if Alessia had lost her wolf because of it. She must have suffered a lot of burns, though they were all healed before she arrived. Bring silver close to a she-wolf was equivalent to bring her close to fire.

Alpha Denzel decided to check on Valerie before going to the torture room but knew that Burke would do a good job in preparing Adam. The doctor was waiting so he got him to Valerie first after going to pick up clothes from Alessia’s room.

The girl had too many clothes and never won them. Even most of her undies still had tags on them. He only picked a few, just so he could get more later. She was sleeping but woke up as soon as the door opened.

“The doctor is here to check on your injury.”

As soon as the doctor got to work, he went to the bathroom. The doctor was both shocked and nervous. This was his first time in the Alpha’s room and he never expected Valerie to be there as well. Unable to control his curiosity, he cleared his throat. “I don’t mean to pry but isn’t it extreme to be in the Alpha’s room? I mean, he already rejected you.”

Valerie was uncomfortable with the question but before she opened her mouth, a domineering voice beat her to it. “Doctor Stan, you are so bold to question who I bring to my room.”

Only a towel was wrapped around Alpha Denzel’s waist and drops of water from his damp hair dropped down his shoulders. His gaze was so chilly, the doctor trembled from fear.
