Chapter 132: Chapter 132 – I Just Want to See Him
“You are indeed in love with someone? So, the picture Alpha Tristan circulated during your coronation was true. You were having an affair,” Alpha Conrad pointed out, his anger burning. He couldn’t shake off the ill feeling that he risked everything for someone like her.

Alpha Denzel knew that the only person she could be in love with was Ryker and was shocked. She never gave an answer when he asked her. Was it because of the number of days he didn’t appear as Ryker that she was realizing that she loved him, or was she doing it to stop the fight?

Valerie was not a liar, but Alpha Denzel had seen her do so to protect Adira, who abused her. Given the circumstances, he could not take her words seriously.

If she was indeed in love, then why didn’t she get her wolf back? Alpha Denzel felt the need to call the Moon goddess for another talk, but since Ryker stood a chance, he didn’t want to ruin it in a public place, lest she got upset and hated Ryker too.

As such, he had to take up his façade of taunting her once more. But before he spoke, Alessia beat him to it due to the disgust on the faces of the warriors present. They made it look as if it was an offense for Valerie to be in love or most probably, it was because of how she was set up by Tristan before.

“Val, what are you saying? How come you never mentioned it?” Alessia asked, dumbfounded to hear Valerie saying this.

Valerie was slightly guilty but was also certain that if their relationship had continued to bloom like it did before things got so busy in the pack, she could have confided in Alessia.

“I wanted to, but you were always busy. We didn’t spend time like we used to, and Ryker was there to keep me company.”

Alessia found it strange since Valerie’s location was hidden from the pack members. Only a few trusted warriors knew about it. But then again, if Valerie could be attacked at the same place where she was safest, then it was also understandable that someone discovered her location, taking advantage of it.

Alessia was about to ask another question but was beaten by Alpha Denzel’s stern voice as he asked Valerie, “You mean that this so-called lover of yours is in this pack?” He pretended not to know and asked.

Alpha Conrad, realizing that it wasn’t what he was thinking, took interest in the matter once more but did not get the chance to issue his apology since Alpha Denzel had personally taken up the matter.

Valerie did not hide it as she kept looking around, itching to catch a glimpse of the man who brought so much joy to her life.

“Yes. His name is Ryker, and he said he was one of your trusted warriors.”

Meeting Alpha Denzel’s fierce glare, she suddenly felt like a fish out of water. Alpha Denzel decided to test her love for his personality as Ryker and asked her,

“Do you know it’s an offense for you to fall in love when I have not declared you free?” Seeing the panic in her eyes, he smiled coldly. “Don’t worry you won’t face the punishment alone, but there are three Rykers in this pack. Can you give a description?”

There were two warriors by the name Ryker who were already sweating, but there was another Ryker at the pack gate, so they were somehow okay. None of them remembered seeing Valerie anywhere, but what if they were falsely accused?

Valerie pursed her lips and responded, “Let me see them, and I would know. Whatever the punishment, I will do it alone.” She did not want to put Ryker in trouble but could not allow either Alphas to claim her when she felt nothing for them.

At least with Ryker, she would be happy even if she did not really love him. She also felt that things would have been easier if she had her wolf, but that was far out of the equation now.

“Everyone by the name Ryker, step forward,” Alpha Denzel announced as he quickly mind-linked the one at the gate before telling Burke, “Let Ryker in.”

Two men stood in front of Valerie, but none of them resembled her Ryker. Before she spoke, the door opened, and one more warrior walked in before the door closed and was locked by Burke.

“It’s neither of them,” Valerie said, feeling confused. The three Rykers were relieved. Though wishing to have been the ones Valerie loved, they also knew the repercussions of not living to see another day if that be the case.

Alpha Denzel was finding it hard to keep his amusement to himself, seeing the tensed atmosphere her confusion created. He had his enemies before him and could no longer deny her, but how would he break the news that he was the same Ryker she was missing so much?

“Does it mean you welcomed a traitor to my pack?” He asked sternly, Valerie pursed her lips tightly in deep thought.

“He didn’t seem like a traitor. He was just a bit older, had a lot of beards, and a tattoo that looked like a bird perching on the moon.”

“So, you were indeed seeing someone,” Alpha Denzel said with confirmation. Confusion brewed in the training room as no one was able to discern at this moment, what Alpha Denzel’s next action would be.

Valerie was not afraid to take responsibility for her actions. Already, she had everything taken from her so what could she lose?

“I don’t care if you kill me, but I just want to see him before I die. Can I call him on the phone?”

Once again, Alpha Denzel was marveled that she wanted to die for Ryker. Would she do the same for him if he confessed everything right now?

“You don’t have to. I would find this Ryker of yours, and you know what would happen to him,” he said coldly, Valerie feared that she put Ryker into trouble. What if Alpha Denzel hurt him because of her?

“You can’t do that,” she said seriously, but Alpha Denzel scoffed. His next declaration did not only surprise Valerie, but everyone else present, making the five visiting Alphas feel like fools.
