Chapter 207: chapter 207 – This is not the same wolf she had before
Alpha Denzel stiffened slightly. This was what he wanted but could not help being afraid that Valerie would be mated to anyone who wasn’t him.

Then again, she would have shifted if she indeed had her wolf back. ‘Then why did she not shift when I did?’ He asked Brutus, the beast was equally clueless.

‘I don’t know. This is not the same wolf she had before. This is not our rejected mate,’ Brutus said to his stupor.

He glanced at Valerie in his arms, humming a few tunes absentmindedly. ‘You mean she has a new wolf? Is it stronger or weaker?’

‘Much stronger. To my level. More like a female Alpha wolf kind of. Sadly, she does not recognize me,’ Brutus revealed, it broke Alpha Denzel’s heart.

Did it mean that all his sacrifices were in vain? When that spirit faked the bond with him, even without knowing, Alpha Denzel could never accept any other woman who was not Valerie.

Hearing this news, he could not help the sadness filling his heart. One mistake has caused him so much more than he could ever imagine.

‘Don’t say anymore. I can’t bear it,’ he shut out Brutus and pulled Valerie closer. In his heart, he could only hope that she’d keep her promises to him but that was not to mean he was going to sit by and watch their destiny unfold.

Even as he walked with her close to his chest, his strength was slowly returning and he knew that after a little sleep after a hot bath, he would be ready to face his adversaries once more.

They talked about random stuff and laughed a lot, not realizing it when they arrived at the packhouse with the pack members watching them like strangers.

Their Alpha never laughed much but with his Luna, they saw him laugh a lot. Arriving at the pack house, Alpha Denzel frowned deeply when he saw Alessia comfortably on Godic’s lap.

“What is going on here?” His expression was terrible, Godic feared and quickly moved Alessia to the side.

Burke and Gandolf had left after having a meal prepared by Alessia at the packhouse but she had refused to let Godic go.

Godic was nervous and rose up to his feet as a way of respect. His head lowered. “Alpha…”

“Godic, Alessia, what is going on?” Alpha Denzel did not allow him to speak, getting impatient as his punishment for the two people would be different.

Alessia understood the reason Godic was afraid and decided to be the one to break the news to her brother.

They decided to wait until he was fully recovered but since he already saw them in an intimate position, it seemed like the right time.

“Denzel, he is my mate, please relax, I made lunch. You look hungry,” Alessia said all at once, Alpha Denzel released a breath he did not know he was holding.

He thought the two were just attracted to each other and did not respect the mate bond.

“Mate?” Alpha Denzel stared at Godic, who could not meet his gaze before he looked at Alessia once again and said, “Ales, excuse us.”

Alessia was afraid he was going to hurt Godic or something. Her brother was unpredictable and it did not look as if he was taking the news well.

“No. I want to stay and listen to what you have to say.”

Aside from leading a pack, the next most difficult thing was having a stubborn sister like Alessia. At a time like this, his only choice was to use an Alpha tone on her. “Alessia, I command you.”

Alessia staggered from fright, not expecting him to use that tone on her. She hastened to the stairs but did not climb it and rather turned around.

“Don’t say anything to make him upset. He’s already afraid,” Alessia cautioned before running up the stairs.

Godic’s forehead was beaded with sweat from the way Alessia stood up to her brother because of him. Valerie decided to give them space as well.

But the moment she took a step, she heard Alpha Denzel say, “Please stay, Val.”

She froze to the spot and lowered herself onto the sofa, deciding to not say anything until she was asked a question.

“Sit.” Alpha Denzel said to Godic, he sat nervously in the single luxury leather seat. Alpha Denzel did not speak immediately and studied him for a while.

Not seeing any mark as he had not seen on Alessia too, he asked seriously. “When did you find out?”

Godic swallowed tightly and began to explain, forcing himself to remain calm.

“The moment I arrived a few days ago. She came to meet us at the training ground because we had to fly the chopper here.”

Alpha Denzel frowned imperceptibly. His attention had instantly shifted. “You flew the chopper to my pack?”

Not even Valerie could discern his emotions from his utterance but as Valerie was about to chime in with an explanation, Godic rather said,

“Alpha, your condition was serious. I had to break some rules and our Luna agreed.”

Alpha Denzel realized that Godic had rather misunderstood his question. He was rather impressed that Godic did not behave like a robot.

Most bodyguards would only do as told but Godic would always think out of the box. If all this happened, and he met Alessia for days now, then what stops them from marking each other?

“So what? You don’t like my sister? You think you are too good for her?” Alpha Denzel sounded annoyed but Godic was having mixed feelings.

“No. I love Alessia. In fact, I don’t think I deserve her. I only thought you won’t allow it,” he explained calmly, Alpha Denzel frowned a little.

“Then why haven’t you marked her?” He was glad that it was Godic. He would rather prefer someone he could trust than just any person.

However, even when Alessia sat on Godic’s lap, his expression had been distant, for which reason Alpha Denzel was curious.

“I needed your consent first. She might be my mate but she’s also your sister,” Godic explained his point.

Alpha Denzel thought for a while but his remark did not only surprise Godic but also Valerie.
