Chapter 210: Chapter 210 – Don’t Obey Her
“You can also choose to reject me, your new wolf, and remain human. Then you can give him an heir. But you would also die young and leave him for another she-wolf.”

Valerie did not like either option. If she died, Denzel would be paired with another she-wolf, and she also desperately wanted to carry his child.

The odds seemed to be against her, and she could not accept it. “What is this? Are we some kind of joke to you?”

“No, Alpha Denzel was given the chance to choose, and he insisted that you be given your wolf back,” Astrid revealed to Valerie, stunning her.

“When was this? How did he decide on my destiny?” Valerie asked seriously, partly upset. She knew that Alpha Denzel felt guilty for the loss of her wolf, but shouldn’t he have considered her side of the story before making such a demand?

Capitalizing on the confusion in her eyes, Astrid went on to reveal more, hoping to crush her into giving up on Denzel.

Female Alpha wolves naturally loved control. It was the reason why they never mated. The last female Alpha that ever lived died centuries ago, leaving the Alpha position to the first male child of her beta.

“Alpha Denzel has been meeting the moon goddess secretly. The seducing spirits are the punishment that comes with it. Valerie, think about all that you have been through.”

“Until the moon is full, this is the only way to get in touch with me. Use a mirror or clear water. Just call my name when you decide.”

Valerie looked lost and did not think of seeking her wolf anytime soon. Her only desire at the moment was to reject her wolf and live happily with her man.

She already had a taste of leadership, but love superseded it all. Astrid was not happy to not have an immediate response and was afraid of Alpha Denzel finding out and messing up their plans.

“There is another thing. You can’t tell Alpha Denzel all that I have discussed with you.”

Valerie’s attention was caught by the request. “Why? You seem afraid of him,” she pointed out.

Having been caught, Astrid did not deny it. “Everyone is afraid of him. He doesn’t obey the rules, and we can’t kill him either. He was the moon goddess’s favorite, but now, even she has lost control of him.”

“Val,” Valerie heard Alpha Denzel’s voice, and the image in the mirror had disappeared before she could ask any more questions.

Valerie was confused when she stepped out of the shower room. Her countenance betrayed that something was off. With Denzel’s curious gaze looming over her, she was even more uncomfortable.

“Denzel, I need fresh air.” She quickly wore sweatpants and a crop top. Without even trainers, she ran out of the room, bumping into Godic.

Alpha Denzel feared she might get injured on her bare foot and screamed after her. “Val.” Even with his Alpha tone, she did not pause in her steps.

He had soon returned after speaking to Godic to gist Valerie on what he just heard, only to see her out of the shower and looking pale.

Alpha Denzel, who had only a towel around his waist, quickly put on a pair of shorts and chased after her. There was no time to put on a shirt or anything of that sort.

“Val,” Alpha Denzel yelled, annoyed that he could not mind-link her. The few pack members they bypassed could only look on curiously, wondering what was going on.

Valerie did not respond and only kept running. Alpha Denzel quickened his speed, chasing after her as she dashed into the woods.

Due to the trees, she began to slow down, but he also realized that she was not as tired as she usually would be, all thanks to her new wolf, whom Alpha Denzel was eager to see.

“Val,” he called again in his Alpha tone, and she stopped this time.

“I just need some time alone,” she said in a teary voice. Denzel caught up to her, wrapping his arms around her.

“No. Tell me what happened,” he demanded. Valerie stared into his desperate eyes, then she realized he was bare-chested. Her cheeks pinked a little, realizing he chased after her without putting on proper attire.

As much as she wanted to unleash all her fears and burdens to him, she could not help but remember Astrid’s warning. “I can’t tell you.”

Alpha Denzel was not upset, knowing that something was ailing her. “Is it your wolf?” he asked directly. Valerie was shocked.

“How could you tell?”

“My wolf, Brutus, can feel her in there, but I was wondering why you haven’t shifted.” Alpha Denzel was calm as he spoke to her.

“I don’t want her.” She lowered herself and sat on the floor. Alpha Denzel sat beside her and pulled her into his arms.

He partly guessed that things would not be easy, but he was not one to give up anyway. “What did she say?” he asked again. Valerie said truthfully.

“She told me not to tell you.”

Denzel’s gaze darkened slightly, but his voice was soft. “Don’t obey her. Tell me everything. We can pull through this together.”

Valerie smiled, feeling his warmth. She was about to spill the beans when she recalled something and asked him. “For how long have you been contacting the moon goddess?”

“She told you that? Communication with the moon goddess cannot be revealed to anyone, but since she broke the rules, then I would tell you. But how? How could she know?” Alpha Denzel was puzzled.

Valerie explained it to him. “She appeared in the mirror, right after you went to get the door.”

“I see. She hasn’t possessed you yet. I was wondering why she could not recognize Brutus,” Alpha Denzel said thoughtfully, remembering what the moon goddess said about giving Valerie a new wolf.

“She wants me to leave you,” Valerie revealed, seeing Alpha Denzel’s gaze darken dangerously. His arm around her tightened as well. “What did you say?”
