Chapter 218: Chapter 218 – She is my Luna
The living room was filled with silence, and you could hear a pin drop. Valerie’s mind was in a mess as she stared at the man downstairs.

Then her gaze shifted to that of Alpha Denzel. It was blank. There was no emotion on his face, but she knew he was hurting. Without a word, she spun around and ran back to the room she came out from.

Alpha Denzel did not follow her, knowing she was going to talk to her wolf. He addressed Alpha Kendrick, who had a cunning smile on his face.

“Alpha Kendrick, what just happened?”

An innocent look took over Alpha Kendrick’s features, and he looked offended. “Alpha Denzel, you are a respecter of the mate bond and should understand.”

The corner of Alpha Denzel’s lips curled up a little, and he sat on the sofa, beckoning Kendrick to sit.

Alessia and Godic sat as well. This was strange. Godic was afraid of Alpha Denzel losing Valerie and returning to the lifeless person he was before.

“It is not that easy, Alpha Kendrick. Even if this is real, I still would not allow you to have her, but this bond is not real, so tell me the truth.”

Alpha Denzel did not beat around the bush and spoke directly. Alpha Kendrick panicked slightly, but it went unnoticed. If what he did was found out, that would hit him with a huge penalty.

“Alpha Denzel, I have no idea what you are talking about.”

Alpha Denzel’s calmness was scary. The bullet he took meant nothing to him, but this was something big.

“Alpha Kendrick, there is something you don’t know about me. Everyone thinks I have it all, but I have always had to work for everything in my life.”

Denzel’s words sounded strange to Kendrick. “I don’t know what you are driving at. Just give me my mate and let me go.” The earlier he leaves, the better for him.

The glare from a pair of cold eyes was already too much for him to take, but there was something about Alpha Denzel that made Alpha Kendrick even more afraid as he spoke.

“It’s not so easy. Even if she’s your mate, you have to fight for her because I already claimed her. She is my Luna.”

Alpha Kendrick was shaking his head, unwilling to accept it. He was close and would not allow Denzel to bully him. “You still have not marked her.”

“That is exactly my point,” Denzel smiled weirdly. Even Alessia, who has witnessed her brother’s ruthlessness, found him a little strange today.

“Alpha Denzel, you are confusing me,” Kendrick said, but Denzel’s expression was blank. It was hard to imagine what he was thinking.

“No. I am driving at something. How can she be your mate when she does not have her wolf?” Alpha Denzel revealed, to even Godic’s shock.

Alessia did not know why Alpha Denzel revealed it but could only be certain that Alpha Kendrick would not leave the Evergreen Pack alive.

The revelation was so shocking to Kendrick, it felt totally untrue. “It’s not possible. She has a Luna wolf.”

“Her wolf died with my rejection, and that is why I have not marked her. I was waiting for her to get her wolf back, and that would happen during the full moon,” Denzel revealed.

Alessia was happy that Valerie would have her wolf back, unaware that it had been replaced.

“Alpha Denzel, please let me talk to her, or I would not believe anything you say.” Kendrick’s voice carried a wave of nervousness, and Denzel did not refuse his request.

“Alright. I will go and get her.”

His eyes locked with that of Godic, and the message was clear that he should keep an eye on Alpha Kendrick.

In the bedroom, Valerie was frustrated. “Astrid, what is going on?”

Her wolf was clueless and without a solution this time. “Don’t ask me. I don’t know. I recognize him, though, as our mate.”

“How is that possible? You have not yet possessed me, so there is no way for us to identify our mate. Can you reach his wolf?” Valerie asked. Astrid was quiet for a while.

“I’m also confused. I never expected anything like this, but he’s ours.”

Valerie was shaking her head. Thanks to not having her wolf for months, she was used to relying on her mind.

“No. We are going to reject him. This bond must be broken because I would never leave Alpha Denzel.”

Valerie was sure of that, and surprisingly, her wolf was in agreement with her. “I’m beginning to like him too, especially what the two of you did in front of the mirror last night. It was so hot. I can’t wait for the main thing.”

Valerie’s cheeks turned so red they climbed to her ears. “You silly thing. There is a fire on the mountain, and you talk about sex?”

Astrid was unrelenting. “I know Alpha Denzel can handle it.”

Valerie could not waste any more time with her. She left and was about to open the door when it opened from outside.

At the sight of Alpha Denzel, she threw herself into his arms as he comforted her. “Everything will be fine, but were you going somewhere?” He feared that she was going to run away.

“Yes. I want to see him,” Valerie said seriously. Alpha Denzel was not against it and walked her down the stairs.

As soon as she reached where Alpha Kendrick was, she spoke seriously. “I, Valerie Lawn, reject you, Alpha Kendrick Lotus, as my third chance mate. I will never accept you.”

Alpha Kendrick’s expression was grim. It was his turn to accept the rejection, but he was adamant. Alpha Denzel glared at him.

“Alpha Kendrick, accept it or be ready for a fight.”

Alpha Kendrick’s teeth gritted together. He did not believe that Valerie lost her wolf, but after all the blood Alpha Denzel spilled because of Luna Valerie, he could not disobey.

“I, Kendrick Lotus, accept your rejection.” Strangely, the pain of rejection was not felt by either of them.

“What have you done? The bond has refused to break,” Valerie panicked.
