Alpha Kendrick had a smug smile on his face. If Alpha Denzel allowed it, he would enjoy killing Godic and returning to his pack unscathed to deal with that beta of his as well.

If not for Ludwig, no one would know that he used a spell, and with time, Alpha Denzel might just give up and allow Luna Valerie to go with him.

Thus, Alpha Kendrick was cursing his beta internally, regretting informing him about his plans. On the other hand, Alessia was not taking the news kindly.

“Godic, is that how you intend to leave me? Don’t you even care a little bit?” Alessia was already teary, but Godic only chuckled, assuming it was because she had never seen him fight before.

Or, it might be due to the fact that he had lived for so long in the human world, she thought his life was peaceful and his level of physical activity reduced?

Godic was about to comfort her when Alpha Denzel spoke. “Godic. Isn’t that dangerous? He has an Alpha wolf. I hope you are not planning to make my sister a widow at a young age.”

Alpha Denzel knew that Godic could indeed defeat Alpha Kendrick in human form due to all the training given to him, but his only worry was concerning Kendrick’s wolf.

Godic smiled, slightly disappointed that even his Alpha and boss did not trust him from that angle.

“I can take him down, with or without his wolf. I owe this to you as your confidant, brother-in-law, and most trusted bodyguard,” Godic declared seriously.

Alessia hoped her brother would dissuade Godic some more, but his response only caused her to panic. “Alright. I have to make sure the bond breaks first.”

Denzel would never discourage a man filled with determination like Godic. The only thing he would do was to make sure he didn’t die in the fight.

Alpha Kendrick was relieved, having the hope of being alive since the fight was going to be between him and Godic.

Alpha Denzel’s phone soon rang again, and the speaker was activated.

“Alpha Denzel, she’s here but has refused to speak. I think she’s afraid of what Alpha Conrad would do to her,” Ludwig said over the phone. Alpha Denzel sighed and asked.

“What’s her name?”

“Alice,” Ludwig replied over the phone, adding, “the phone is on speaker so she can hear you.”

Alpha Denzel swallowed tightly and spoke as softly as he could. He knew how scary his voice could be even when he just spoke casually.

“Hey Alice, this is Alpha Denzel. I’m not going to hurt you.”

There was a brief pause, but the expected female voice was not heard. Alpha Kendrick felt that his wishes were being granted, as he hoped that Alice would also not turn against him like his beta did.

If she was not too young, she would have rather been his beta.

“I don’t think it’s working,” Ludwig said frustratedly. “She still looks afraid.”

Alpha Denzel ran out of options. The next thing would be to drive to the Black fur pack or have beta Ludwig bring her.

Both options were time-consuming, and he could not endure the bond being active until then.

Valerie was equally disturbed as the bond was already affecting her senses and attraction towards Alpha Kendrick.

It was like a love spell. Right now, her heart was captured, and only her brain was functioning right. She had no idea how long it would take for her brain to be equally consumed by the spell.

If the girl was afraid of Denzel, she doubted it would be the same for her. “Let me talk to her,” Valerie said.

Alpha Denzel did not refuse, ready to take every chance available to remove this headache. Valerie went on to say,

“Hi, Alice, this is Luna Valerie. I need your help.”

“Luna Valerie?” A thin, eager voice was heard as a relief sigh escaped everyone present. Before Valerie responded in the affirmative, Alice spoke again. “I heard you are very kind.”

Luna Valerie was all the girls her age talked about. Most of them had not seen her but heard their elders talk about her.

She seemed to be some kind of heroine as everyone wanted to be like her. Alice felt honored to have this moment with her.

Valerie released a breath she did not know she was holding before responding, “Yes, I am.”

The fear seemed to have melted away from Alice’s voice, and she spoke normally. “But why do you need my help?”

Ludwig had not told her the reason for this call, so everything was strange to her, and it felt as if she was dreaming.

If not for Ludwig’s presence, she would have even pinched herself to ascertain if she was dreaming or not.

“Because you helped your Alpha with something and it’s affecting me,” Valerie explained before asking. “Can you help me to undo it? I promise he would never come to hurt you. I will make sure that Ludwig gives you maximum protection.”

“Alice, I command you to not do it,” Alpha Kendrick’s voice interrupted the conversation. Alpha Denzel was about to punch him when Alpha Kendrick fell from the sofa he sat on to his back.

Godic had punched him as if he read Alpha Denzel’s mind. Having worked together for so long, he easily discerned everything his boss or Alpha wanted him to do at every point.

Alice suddenly shrunk back. “Alpha Kendrick? He’s there?” Her voice was teary, and Valerie wanted to assure her it wasn’t what she thought.

However, Ludwig’s voice was heard in the background. “Alice, listen to me. Our Alpha did something very bad. If you don’t undo this, our whole pack would be in trouble. Just imagine if this pack is attacked. Even if you survive, you can lose a loved one.”

Everyone waited for her next response as if their lives depended on it. “Are you sure? Alpha said I shouldn’t do it.”

“Alice, our Alpha is not in the pack now. Who do you think would protect you if something happens? Please undo what you did for our Alpha or our pack would be in trouble. Did he tell you the reason why he wanted it so?”

“No, he is the Alpha so I can’t refuse anything.”

The conversation went on and on before Alice finally said, “I will only undo it on one condition.”
