“You are leaving with just your bags? You should add some brains too. It won’t be long before he realizes what an empty shell you are,” Alpha Tristan deliberately refused to filter his words as he addressed the woman on the bed.

If not for fear of creating suspicions if he moved to another room, he would not have endured sharing the same room with her.

Scarlet’s heart broke. Was that what he thought of her? “Is that all that I am to you? Wasn’t I the one who suggested and masterminded removing my father and Valerie for you to be the Alpha?”

She recalled how she crushed on Tristan back then. To her amazement, the feeling was mutual, but they both feared that their families would reject their love because they were not destined mates.

The only way to remove the hurdle was to escape her family’s judgment. Ashley was already disowned, so Scarlet had only her father and Valerie to deal with, but they were both so tough.

However, it was easy to take out her father after bribing his most trusted warriors to do the job for them.

Tristan regretted following his stupid heart to go by Scarlet’s plans, thinking that she loved him.

Remembering the events of that day was so painful to him, but there was nothing he could do about it now. It was just too late.

Now, he was cursed and would never even have a second chance mate. “It was just unfortunate that just before we could proceed with the plan to take out Valerie, you two were mated,” Scarlet recalled bitterly.

Everything was her idea for Tristan to become Alpha by all means. “Was I also not the one who brought the plan about you accepting and playing with Val until we set her up? Now tell me, who is smarter? You never would have been Alpha without me.”

“So, after all this, what did you do? You have no basic knowledge about leading a pack and are empty about battles or business. Beta Ludwig does not seem like he is going to need evil advice, so what exactly are you going to be to him?” Tristan mocked, Scarlet’s was raged.

Scarlet felt slapped by thunder. Tristan’s words agonized her soul. Her insecurities were exposed in broad daylight.

Ever since Scarlet was young, she wanted to be just like any of her sisters since they were the only motherly figure she had.

Not only were they stunning but also tough. Scarlet tried their training routines, finding them extremely difficult.

She would rather relax under a summer hut with a bowl of vanilla ice cream than go through those tedious or if not body-torturing trainings.

The more she tried to be like them, the more her weaknesses mocked her in the face, but now, Tristan had just activated her insecurities once more, her eyes welled up with tears.

“How dare you? Why did you reject Valerie then?”

“Because I was stupid or how would I know that you didn’t use a charm on me? I was blind to have fallen for your shallow schemes,” Tristan lamented, regretting everything. But he lacked the ability to turn back the hands of time.

“And now it’s too late. She belongs to Alpha Denzel.” Scarlet taunted him, adding, “you are not on the same level with him and would never be. Even the pack I left in your hands is far from what my sister left behind. Tristan, Valerie was a better ruler than you.”

Tristan did not try to defend himself, knowing it was true. “I know. I never should have rejected her for a whore like you.”

A slap met his face, but he was unmoved. Pain screamed in his voice when he recalled the humiliation he faced at the Evergreen pack because of his foolishness and said to Scarlet.

“Very soon, when Beta Ludwig finds out how empty you are, he would send you back here to enjoy the damage we both caused. The amount for your beauty treatments alone consumed half of the resources meant for the whole pack.”

He could not believe that he overlooked it all this while until so much damage was caused. The pack members now live on half of what they deserved because anything above that would cripple their finances to zero.

Scarlet had no remorse for squandering so much money on her beauty treatments when they were working so well for her. Not until Tristan began to refuse paying for them.

She wanted to be the most beautiful woman any pack had ever seen, but the break in her treatments due to the pressure on the finances caused her to lose her glow.

With her mate becoming Alpha, she would be able to resume her treatments quickly, since the Black Fur Pack had a strong financial stand compared to the Yellow Stone Pack.

“There is still money in the safe. You just aren’t smart enough to get it out for everyone.”

Scarlet was mad to not have the passcode to the safe. She never knew there was even one due to her lack of interest in pack management.

Tristan was rather disappointed in the woman he chose over his destined mate.

“You weren’t smart enough to learn anything from any of your sisters, so we are all suffering for it. If nothing at all, should we not be thinking about more important things?” Tristan’s brow raised questioningly, Scarlet frowned deeply.

“Things like what? There is nothing of importance than my mate,” she said proudly, happy to have someone better than Tristan.

Though pained, Tristan put on a calm demeanor. “Is that so? Did you forget that Ashley is back? What do you think is going to happen if your father returns? Do you think that Ludwig would still want to be with you after finding out what we both did?”

The questions caused Scarlet to feel uneasy, but she felt that Tristan had a solution. “If you have a suggestion, come up with it and stop wasting time. What is the plan?”
