Chapter 238: Chapter 238 – Now I’m Going to Break You
Valerie ran deeper into the woods, slowly easing her unease with every breeze she inhaled until she reached a spot where the moonlight shone directly on her from the full moon.

It was a breath-taking sight, seeming as though she stood in the heart of the woods with the full moon positioned above with some tall trees clustered around it.

The light from the full moon illuminated her from above, casting a dazzling magical effect on her appearance as Astrid stood on all fours, emitting a growl from her throat.

Brutus arrived at the sound of the growl, just in time and shifted, with Alpha Denzel overseeing the final transformation.

Valerie was no longer screaming, and though she transformed into a female Alpha Wolf, it was not as intimidating as Brutus.

This wolf was one of a kind with clear crystal-like eyes. Astrid stood with grace under the moonlight, exuding an aura of confidence, strength, and beauty.

First-time shifts were never meant to last long. In less than three minutes, Valerie shifted back to her human form, looking exhausted.

It was as if a new chemical had been introduced to her as she heard Astrid’s voice through the mind link. ‘I’m Astrid, your wolf.’

Valerie was about to tease her for her pretense but remembered that Astrid had mentioned she would not be able to recall anything if she possessed her. It felt like meeting her second chance wolf for the first time.

As she reacquainted herself with Astrid, Alpha Denzel searched for two sets of emergency clothes in nylon bags for them to wear.

Turning around after finding them, their wolves recognized each other this time.

“Mate,” Valerie said in a teary voice as she embraced him. Their relationship had not been the typical sweet one every she-wolf craved.

It had endured trials, and she knew there were more challenges ahead. However, as long as they remained strong and continued to trust each other, she was certain that no obstacle could overcome them.

Their naked bodies pressed together as Alpha Denzel claimed her possessively. “You have always been mine.”

His arm wrapped tightly around her as they lost themselves in each other’s warmth. It was a precious moment, and all they desired was to stay that way.

However, it was impossible for them to remain in the woods. Over ten minutes later, they finally pulled away, and Alpha Denzel wiped the joyful tears from the corner of her eyes before asking, “How do you feel?”

Since she had regained her wolf, there was nothing left for him to hold back as long as she was okay.

With their nature, there was something special about having one’s wolf in place. It was a feeling that Valerie could not get enough of. Her excitement knew no bounds at this moment.

“I feel complete, Denzel. Thank you very much.”

She had tears in her eyes, looking forward to this day. Meanwhile, Denzel was even more excited than she was, though he struggled to express it.

Aside from a few smiles and laughter once in a blue moon, showing joy was not exactly part of Denzel’s nature.

“No. Thank you for understanding and staying by my side,” he said sincerely, enjoying the sight of her naked form in the moonlight.

If not for wanting their first night to be special, she would have had a different experience after her shift.

Valerie, unaware of his thoughts, was eager to bear his mark and be mated by him, even if it was under the moonlight.

“Are you still going to wait? We could do it right here.”

Alpha Denzel chuckled, recalling a place. It would be nice to be away from the pack house for a while, but then he thought of Alice.

She would not be comfortable waking up without seeing Valerie around. Now, Alpha Denzel had to change his plans again.

It felt as though they already had a child before Valerie even got pregnant. “You look too tired. Rest for a few hours, and we can take it from there.”

His fingers trailed her lips softly before his lips briefly touched hers. The short kiss had a profound effect on him, evident in his heavy voice. “Now I’m going to break you. I just hope you and your wolf are strong enough to handle it.”

“You might just be in for a surprise,” Valerie smiled weakly. They put on the emergency clothes before walking back to where Alpha Denzel had parked the car. Valerie suddenly remembered Alice and said to Alpha Denzel,

“We should go and see Alice.”

Not wanting any disturbance for Valerie to rest well, Denzel responded firmly, “She’s in safe hands. You should take care of me. Please don’t forget how long I’ve held back.”

Valerie blushed, wondering what was going to happen that night. Indeed, Alpha Denzel had waited for a long time.

Knowing that the first time might be painful, as she had heard from Ashley, Valerie began to feel nervous.

Upon arriving at the packhouse, Alpha Denzel mind-linked Burke to move into the Beta’s chamber. Though he had mentioned it before, he had not implemented it, so Burke had not moved.

Only the Delta and Gammas packhouse remained to be constructed for the leaders to be as comfortable as their roles demanded.

He then instructed a maid to prepare a room for Alice. In the case of the teenage girl, Valerie was already acting as an elder sister or perhaps a mother.

“Make it girlish and very beautiful. Use light colors like pink, yellow, lemon, or red.”

The maid smiled, curious about the special care demanded by both the Alpha and his Luna. She could not speak about it and simply replied, “Yes, Luna.”

Valerie was undressing when Denzel’s phone rang. Seeing Godic’s name, he sensed a problem but was not in the mood to deal with anything from the human world. “Godic, I’m busy.”

Expecting Godic to hang up, he instead said, “Denzel, I’m sorry, but it’s very urgent.”
