Chapter 304: Chapter 304 – For Lisa’s Sake
“Aurora, what do you have to say about what they are accusing you of?” Denzel took over this time.

The heavy emotions in his voice were evident signs that he was deeply hurt by Aurora’s actions, since all he ever did was give her the best.

“And what surprise did you have prepared for my wife?” He asked seriously, but how could Aurora confess that she wanted to cause Valerie to have an accidental fall that could damage her brain or even kill her?

Aurora knew she was finished, but the heart-breaking part was the way Don Denzel’s gaze was filled with disappointment and everyone else staring at her with disdain.

Another waiter added her voice upon realizing that Aurora was not the queen she always portrayed herself to be.

“Don, she said you would do nothing because her kid sister was the woman you loved. She always said that if her kid sister had not died, she would have been your sister-in-law.”

Both Alessia and Valerie could feel Denzel’s pain. For Valerie, through the bond and for Alessia, by putting herself in her brother’s shoes.

Losing Lisa turned Denzel into an inhuman being, but with Valerie, he could even laugh again.

Aurora was tongue-tied, knowing that nothing she would say at this point would vindicate her.

Her plans against Valerie were all deadly, and any word that would come out would only send her deeper into Don Denzel’s bottomless pit of wrath.

Alessia took her stand beside her brother to handle the matter, knowing how weak Denzel could be with matters concerning Aurora, all because of Lisa.

“Aurora, Denzel loved Lisa very much, and you have no idea the number of people who suffered his wrath because of her murder.”

This information was new to those who were not directly family, so all ears were attentive to Alessia’s words.

They were just realizing that Don Denzel had even loved a woman who had died. Suddenly, they felt for the first time, pity for the man who was always like a rock.

“He found happiness again, and you want to destroy it? How cruel can you be? You became somebody because of him, and you dare to touch the only person that brings joy to his heart?”

Alessia was saddened, and she never wished to see her brother in that state of darkness like before.

She could even count the number of times she saw him smoke or drink ever since taking down Conrad and his men.

“Alessia, you don’t understand,” Aurora found her voice, as she was unable to face Denzel due to her shame.

“Then make us understand,” Alessia made it easy for her, but Aurora’s mouth only opened and closed with no words coming out.

“Alessia, every girl here has a crush on Don, and she is one of us. She only feels that if her sister died, then she should be the rightful replacement and not madam,” Cordelia revealed, concluding the matter.

“You!” Aurora glared at Cordelia, anger boiling inside of her, as she asked daringly. “Don’t you want him too?”

Cordelia already faced her shame and was no longer afraid.

“I said us. I didn’t exempt myself, but at least I know my place. Even working with him as his secretary for years, I never tried anything stupid. I never even wore a short skirt, but you tried all sorts of things, including convincing Godic to authorize you to clean his house when he was away.”

It was time to put an end to all the cat and mouse games, and Cordelia was determined to make sure of that.

“I’m not saying this because I hate you. I just want you to change,” Cordelia rested her case, but Aurora was very furious, feeling ashamed.

She remembered that Valerie had arrived unexpectedly with Don Denzel, preventing her from gaining the opportunity to do anything to gain his attention.

“No wonder Clay cheated on you,” Aurora said with disgust, but Cordelia was rather happy due to the outcome of everything and replied.

“He is just an asshole, and in case you forget, he is getting his deserved punishment.”

Aurora felt alone like the time Denzel picked her up and gave her a chance, but it was still very difficult for her to accept how everything suddenly turned out against her.

“Since everybody is against me, I will speak for myself,” she began. Her end was not going to be good, so she might just as well spell out everything.

“It’s true that I don’t like Don’s wife, but no one even knows who she is. Ever since her appearance, Don spends less and less time with his businesses.”

None of the three werewolves were liking where this whole thing was going, as it seemed to them that Aurora was trying to dig into their roots.

“Why should he be here after paying people to do the job?” Alessia cut in calmly. When it involved Aurora, Alessia could not just be ruthless.

Her only living family was wiped out because of her brother, so she could not help feeling that they owed Aurora.

“He has worked so hard and deserves a vacation. After that, he can focus on building other companies and not waste his time doing what he could comfortably pay others to do.”

Knowing that Denzel would be leaving again without a trace, Alessia put it that way for no one to suspect his movements.

“But why her?” Aurora asked, Alessia replied. “That is the mystery of love that no one can understand.”

Aurora could not believe it. Not after all she heard about Valerie and addressed her directly.

“Ma’am, you are here pretending to be kind, but I know about all the people you killed since you arrived. Three Dons to be precise.”

Alessia was surprised as no one had told her.

Since that day, Valerie had been with Denzel a lot, and they hardly had time to talk. “Oh, that,” Valerie was about to say when Denzel took the words from her mouth.

“That is none of your business. Those people sent thugs to attack my home and kill me. My wife avenged me, and how is that your concern?” Denzel asked in annoyance.

He tried to help Aurora, but since there was too much greed in her heart, he was tired of it.

“Aurora, my generosity ends here. I don’t want to see you near any of my companies. You can keep what is in your bank account, but not any of the properties still in my name.”

Both Alessia and Valerie were shocked, not expecting Denzel’s ruthlessness to extend to Aurora.

Both women were lost in salvaging the matter, but Aurora broke into tears, hitting on Denzel’s weakness.

“Don, for Lisa’s sake, please have mercy on me.”
