Chapter 311: Chapter 311 – No Way
“Good. Call Burke and tell him to attend to Alice.”

Since Burke was aware of Alice’s powers and the fact that he had to keep it secret, Denzel was certain that he would know how to handle this matter as well.

“Yes, Alpha.” Dorothy rushed out of the pack house and instantly saw Burke a distance away. She began yelling, “Beta Burke, Alice.”

Burke was disturbed, no longer feeling the excitement of the win. “What happened to her? Where is she?”

His heart thumped wildly with fear of what had happened to her when she volunteered to help at the safe house.

“In her room, unconscious,” Dorothy revealed. Burke ran to Alice’s room, followed by Godic and Dorothy as the latter informed him.

“Alpha said I should call you to attend to her.”

Burke wondered how Alpha Denzel already knew that Alice was not well before those at the pack.

Thinking of asking later, Dorothy already dialed Alpha Denzel’s number and gave the phone to Burke. “The Alpha is on the line.”

“Alpha,” Burke took the phone and spoke immediately. Denzel calmly explained the situation to him.

“I made her use her powers. Did she suffer burns?” Alpha Denzel asked from the other side of the line, and for the first time, Burke saw that his Alpha was not as aloof as they thought.

He cared a lot. “No. I’m checking her pulse, but it’s normal. I think she’s just exhausted,” Burke explained. Alpha Denzel was relieved but wondered if she was exhausted because of the use of her powers or if there were other conditions.

Also, Burke said that Alice did not suffer any kind of burns. Could it mean she was indeed improving in the use of it?

“The sound of a cough was heard, and everyone’s attention went to Alice as she opened her eyes.

“What are you all doing here?” She asked, and hearing her voice at the end of the line, Denzel and Valerie were quite excited.

“You were unconscious when I got here. What happened?” Dorothy asked. Everything flooded into Alice’s mind, but she could not let those who did not know that she had powers know, so she brushed it aside.

“I guess I was just tired after training.” After Denzel heard this and due to people around, he ended the call, planning to call Alice later.

Dorothy stayed with Alice, and Godic and Burke went to prepare rooms for Alpha Idris and Troy.

“No need to stay when the war is over,” Alpha Idris refused, but Alpha Troy reminded him.

“Being rogues, they might return because of the absence of an Alpha, especially when they have not gotten what they want. Let’s stay for a few days.”

He knew Adira would not have a problem with it as she missed her old pack, but Alpha Idris suggested,

“Why don’t you go for me to stay since you are both here?” He was equally concerned about their pack, but as for his, he knew his mom and beta were capable of taking care of everything in his absence.

Troy smiled and replied. “Did you forget about a beta? Nevertheless, I will send the warriors away.”

“My bad,” Idris came to his senses and said, adding, “I already sent my warriors away, and the Evergreen pack has developed from the last time I saw it. The architectural design for the omega’s community is outstanding. I’m thinking of having something like that at my pack.”

Troy agreed. “Same here. Alpha Denzel is always full of ideas. I wish I had the opportunity to be close to him earlier.”

“No need for regrets,” Alpha Idris said, remembering how he thought of Denzel before. “I used to see him as an enemy too, but knowing I have a cousin like him, half of my problems are solved.”

The Evergreen pack was peaceful, and everyone joined in cleaning the pack and restoring it to its former glory.

Back in Las Vegas, a knock was heard on Denzel’s door as Alessia opened the door and entered with packaged food.

Disappointment dulled her eyes when she saw Denzel and Valerie in a relaxed manner on the bed. “Why haven’t you packed your stuff? Did you forget your responsibilities as Alpha and Luna?”

Denzel smirked, stood up, and took the tray of food from her. Knowing she was worried about Godic, he teased her a little.

“Everything is taken care of, and everybody is fine. Don’t worry. We aren’t leaving anytime soon, so Godic isn’t coming back either.

“Great. I should call Godic then,” Alessia said in a dismayed tone. She wished it wasn’t true and she could have her man back.

After teasing her, Denzel decided to cheer her up a little. “And you guys can go for your magic show.”

As expected, her eyes lit up instantly. “That’s great. I hope that your meeting equally turns out successful. Break a leg.”

Denzel smiled at her retreating figure. “Thanks for the meal.”

After Alessia left, Valerie said to Denzel. “I’m really surprised you made her use her powers.”

He did not mean to, but it already happened. “She’s a pack member, and I wasn’t around. I knew she might get injured, and I plan to take responsibility for it. Imagine the whole pack being under some kind of spell when there is someone to help.”

“You have a good point over there, and she sounded ready to help,” Valerie agreed. She was just happy that the pack was safe.

“She always has. I can’t wait for her to turn eighteen,” Denzel smirked. Valerie shook her head, not expecting it from him.

“You are so naughty, Denzel.”

“Is it a bad idea to watch out for my beta?” He wished that all his pack members above the ages of eighteen would find their mates without going through the hassle he went through.

“No. It’s just as I’m looking out for my little Alice. She’s so innocent,” Valerie countered, remembering Alice’s innocent mannerisms.

“Well, the pack needs more members,” Denzel said directly, not accepting the level of innocence Valerie was grading Alice.

Knowing he was right, she shook her head. “I just can’t win an argument with you.”

Denzel dropped the food gently on the nightstand and climbed on top of her. “Well, you might, if you are able to do one thing.”

With raised brows, Valerie asked seriously, “And what is that?” Denzel’s gaze settled a little far away, and following his gaze, Valerie’s jaws dropped.

“No way.”
