Chapter 344: Chapter 344 – I promise to be your man alone as your mate
“We have to find a way to disrupt the service. This coronation must not happen,” Orion said to Luna Ahuma, confusion stabbing her mind as she stared at him.

“What are you talking about? Isn’t this the reason why we came?” She had no idea she was being used by him to achieve his selfish desires.

Orion did not want to tell her, but Valerie was already walking down the aisle, and it would be too late if he didn’t act before it happened.

With this, he had to come clean and began to explain it to Luna Ahuma for her understanding.

“If Luna Valerie is coronated, she would become the most powerful Luna of all times, including ancient origins.”

Still surprised, Luna Ahuma asked, “how did you know? Were you just using me? Are we really mates?”

Orion was more and more frustrated. “I will explain it to you later, but cause the distraction, and you’d be happy you did.”

“Alright, fall down and pretend you fainted,” Luna Ahuma suggested.

When Valerie walked the aisles, Alpha Denzel could not resist her and broke protocols.

He walked to meet Valerie halfway, causing laughter among the people in attendance. Valerie’s steps were too slow for him, coupled with the fact that the tent was quite huge.

He lifted her in his arms, bridal style, the tail of her gown forming a heart shape, which the designer did not even know would happen.

Everything seemed so magical as Denzel walked gracefully to the stage, carrying his Luna bridal style with her arms wrapped around his neck.

“You are the most beautiful woman in the world,” he said honestly, and everybody agreed as Spartan beckoned the people in attendance to sit in their chairs.

Spartan was amazed to be seeing this side of Denzel but agreed that he and Valerie deserved to be happy.

“Without much ado, we shall proceed with the vows since our Luna is already here. If you must know, Luna Valerie is the only Luna of our time to assume the title even before finding her mate and being coronated.”

Everyone laughed except Tristan and Scarlet, as he continued to say. “Luna Valerie Lawn, I would only use the name Alpha Denzel gave if you accept the conditions.”

Valerie nodded her head in agreement, and he continued to speak.

“Luna Valerie, do you agree to become the Luna of the Evergreen pack in the presence of Alpha Denzel and be the Alpha of the pack in his absence?”

“Yes, I do,” Valerie readily agreed, her gaze locked with that of her man, as she dazzled under the sparkling decorative lights.

The hairpins in her hair were all diamonds, and even her stilettos were decorated with diamonds. The white gown she wore enhanced her features remarkably, making it hard for anyone to take their eyes off her.

“And do you promise to protect this pack and its members, settle disputes fairly, and give maximum support to your Alpha?”

Valerie nodded her head again. “Yes, I do.”

“And finally, do you take this cold man not only as your Alpha but also your mate, and vow to love him only, throughout the days of your life?”

“With all my heart,” Valerie answered.

Applause sounded throughout the tent as everyone expressed their joy. Burke brought a knife, but Denzel rejected it as the Alpha King said to him, “the rest is up to you. I will wait for your cue.”

Alpha Denzel cleared his throat and began to speak. “Val, from the onset, I always loved you but I hurt you so much. Do you forgive me?”

Valerie’s smile did not waver as she responded. “It was never your fault, and I already forgot about it.”

Denzel smiled at her and began to say.

“I promise to be your man alone as your mate, to stand by you at all times, to love, cherish, and support you in all your dreams and aspirations. I also promise to listen to you at all times and make you the happiest woman in the world.”

Then his fingers elongated, but before he could cut himself for her to taste his blood, a shrill tore from one of the tables.

“Please help, he just collapsed.” It was Luna Ahuma pointing at Orion on the floor, and Valerie had a feeling she was up to something.

The warriors rushed to check on him as Luna Ahuma continued to scream. “He would need medical care. Let’s take him to the hospital. Is it too far from here? Please help me. I don’t want to lose my mate.”

She was crying like a baby but Alpha Denzel was greatly angered, knowing they wanted to ruin the occasion.

“Is he really your mate?” Alpha Denzel asked from the stage, and everywhere went quiet. “I don’t see a mark on your neck or his. If you want to lie, at least do so with some sense.”

Embarrassment washed over Luna Ahuma; she wanted to hide and wished she had not agreed to this plan. Alpha Denzel was so ruthless with his words.

Quickly, she came up with a response. “Alpha Denzel, we just found out yesterday, and due to this event, we could not mark each other.”

She hoped her lie would save her face, unaware that it would only compound her problems.

“Alright, but for whatever reason you want to ruin my special moment, just bear in mind that there are consequences to such actions.”

Luna Ahuma was numb, wondering how Alpha Denzel could read their minds or figure out that they were indeed faking it.

Did he have some powers too? The way a young Alpha like him behaved like an old experienced Alpha was so scary, and Luna Ahuma found herself stammering this time.

“A…Alpha Denzel, can we please take him to the hospital? I don’t want to lose him, and you know our coronation is coming soon. It’s not easy to find a second chance mate,” she sobbed some more.
