Chapter 357: Chapter 357 – Val, I took care of you, remember?
Eileen was so battered, she groaned from the pain. She had lost the strength to scream, especially since she had not eaten.
“Eileen, I would never allow you to have a peaceful death. Even after your body is cremated, you will never forget the torment you will face in this pack.”
Valerie would make sure of it. Every day she would watch her mother’s recovery and ensure that Eileen felt the loss and despair her mother had experienced in that so-called well in the middle of nowhere.
“Throw her in the dungeon without food or water,” Alpha Denzel ordered. Eileen, who was beginning to heal slowly, started pleading with Valerie.
“Val, I took care of you, remember?”
Disgust etched on Valerie’s face as she responded to the hypocrite she had known as her aunt for all these years.
“My mother would have taken better care of us if you had not done what you did.” She glared at the warriors, and Eileen’s leg was lifted with her body dragged on the floor.
Her silent cries did nothing to appease the angry people in attendance at the reception, and her injuries were severe, requiring medical attention to heal properly. But it was clear that no help would reach her.
Valerie’s gaze focused on Alpha Tristan after Eileen was out of view. Strangely, Tristan no longer showed fear, having come to terms with the fact that this was the day he was going to die.
“As for you, Tristan, it is clear that you are no longer the Alpha of the Yellowstone pack, and no gathering would be needed for that. Denzel, what do we do with him?” Valerie asked curiously, and everyone was stunned by Alpha Denzel’s response.
“Val, I know you want him dead for all he did to you, but I’m rather grateful to him. You would still be with him if not for his rejection, and for that, I can’t think of punishing him.”
Initially, all he felt towards Tristan was pain, anger, and bitterness. However, after all the joy Valerie brought into his life, he kept asking himself the same question over and over again: what would have happened to him if Tristan had not rejected Valerie.
Valerie was not pleased with this response and asked him, “What about what he did to my father?”
Alpha Denzel shrugged, already having an answer to the question.
“It’s obvious that everything was planned by Eileen. Tristan was just trying to appease the woman he loved.”
Everyone was shocked, as no one would have guessed that Alpha Denzel, of all people, would be so lenient in a matter like this.

Valerie did not intend to go against his wish but was not pleased to let Tristan go just like that.
“So, you think we should just let him go?”
Tristan’s eyes lit up with hope, thinking Alpha Denzel would save him, but he was disheartened by the response.
“Far from it. I would have gladly let him go if he had not ordered your execution.” Alpha Denzel’s eyes suddenly darkened, and Luna Valerie’s heart warmed. For a moment, she thought Denzel had lost his mind.
“How about we execute him too?” Alpha Denzel suggested. If he had not been there to rescue Valerie, she would have died from execution, so it was up to Tristan if he would have someone to stand in to save him.
Tristan’s heart sank. He should have ordered Valerie to be sent to the dungeon but instead ordered her execution.
That was because they feared the pack members finding out the truth and seeking justice for her.
Tristan’s mistake was too significant, and there was no excuse strong enough to save him from execution.
His response amazed the couple and everyone present. “I deserve it. You don’t have to feel bad about it. Luna Valerie would have been dead if Alpha Denzel had not saved her that day.”
The glares directed at Tristan were ones of confusion. Some people began to think he deserved a second chance for owning up to his mistakes, but no one could find a strong enough explanation to spare him from execution.
As long as Alpha Denzel was involved, it was an eye for an eye, and no one could oppose it.
Having accepted his punishment, there was no point in beating around the bush. But an important person was missing in this whole situation, and Alpha Denzel would never usurp any Alpha’s authority.
“Your judgment is passed, but I am not your Alpha. If Alpha Lawn had not returned, I would have executed you already. But since he has returned as the Alpha of the Yellowstone pack, I will leave the matter as it is for him to be the final judge. Throw him in the dungeon too,” he instructed.
Tristan was hurled away, but Alpha Denzel suddenly recalled something and said to everyone present.
“I remember vividly that he also caused my Luna shame and humiliation. I want him beaten to a pulp.”
Before the words even left his mouth, five warriors gave Tristan the beating of his life while recording it to send to his former pack members.
They might not know the full story until they saw Alpha Lawn, but this was enough to let them know that Tristan would no longer be allowed to return to the pack.
Tristan was in immense pain, and his wolf shrank away, leaving him to himself since his wolf had warned him.
At that moment, he felt like a helpless human, making the pain worse with healing far from him. Worse would be the fear of waiting for his execution.
It was impossible to escape or heal from the dungeons of the Evergreen pack due to the coatings of wolfsbane on the thick, cold walls of the dungeon.
Alpha Denzel’s attention settled on Orion. “What were you trying to do?” he asked with a low growl, and Orion’s heart sank to his stomach. How stupid of him to have tried to invade Alpha Denzel’s mind like he did with Luna Valerie?
