Alma felt a deep sense of sadness as she recounted her ordeal. “I honestly can’t remember everything, and I’m grateful for that. It was after the doctor insisted that I was experiencing complications and that your father should excuse us.”

Her voice trembled with emotion as she turned to Alpha Lawn. “Are those doctors still around?”

“No. I banished all of them when they informed me that they cremated your body without consulting me.”

A small smile appeared on Alma’s lips. “Thank you. I knew I could trust you.”

“After you left, he injected me with something, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, I found myself at the witches’ coven, with my lower abdomen bandaged and in excruciating pain. My wolf was furious, saying she tried to wake me to stop them, but I couldn’t hear her.”

“The pregnancy was gone, so I knew they had removed the baby.”

A tear rolled down Alpha Lawn’s cheek. “I should have followed my instincts and tortured them instead of banishing them.”

Alma reassured him, “It’s too late, and you don’t have to feel guilty about anything. I just wished you had come for me.”

“I encountered many witches, all envious of my beauty, wanting to trade with me, but Claudia was different. She claimed she was the one who brought me and that I belonged to her. Initially, I was confined to a small room, but when I refused to eat what they offered, she transferred me to the well.”

Alpha Lawn was filled with sorrow, wishing he could turn back time to be there for her.

“So, you didn’t eat anything?”

“I did,” Alma replied with a bitter smile. “Only after weeks, and it would be just a bite of stale bread. I hoped that by refusing to eat, she would let me go or that you would find me eventually. But Claudia taunted me, revealing how she and Eileen orchestrated everything.”

“She claimed I was dead to the pack, which fueled my determination to die. I would go for months without food, but I was still beautiful, so she would exchange my beauty whenever she pleased. Whenever she aged, she would return my skin to me.”

Everyone was puzzled, and Valerie asked, “Why would she do that?”

“A witch can never maintain a body that isn’t hers. Only the true owner can keep it healthy. The exchanges were always painful, and since I wasn’t eating well, she wasn’t getting what she wanted. At one point, she tried to turn me into a witch and started giving me contaminated food, but I refused to eat,” Alma explained.

“How did you know it was contaminated?” Ashley asked.

“She would chant on it in front of me. According to her, the spell wouldn’t work without my knowledge. Her friends abused me because they couldn’t have me. They would drop snakes and other poisonous creatures into the well.”

Everyone was horrified, especially Valerie, who had a fear of snakes. “What did you do, Mom?”

Alma smiled. “I learned to survive. I knew I was going to die anyway, but I always reminded myself that I was a strong Luna. During those times, I would shift, kill the animals, and eat them.”

“Raw?”

“Do you have a way to start a fire?” The group was deeply moved, and Alpha Denzel’s eyes welled up with tears.

“The well would sometimes fill with water, and I would drink from it. During winter, I would stay in wolf form due to the cold. The other witches were angry because Claudia became more powerful than them, and no matter what they threw at me, I refused to die.”

It was a painful memory for Alma, but her time in the Evergreen pack was slowly erasing the past.

“How did you lose your wolf?” Alpha Lawn inquired, and Alma lowered her head, shaking it.

“I can’t recall the exact date, as I stopped keeping track. But that time, the well was filled, and we managed to swim out. I had a chance to escape, but one of the witches caught me. I fought with her and killed her.”

Alpha Lawn wasn’t surprised, knowing Alma’s strength.

“Unfortunately, I wasted too much time killing her, and Claudia caught up to me, taunting me about my fearfulness.”

“She locked me in a room filled with wolfbane, and it was a choice between my wolf dying or leaving to return only when I found freedom. She wanted to stay, but I couldn’t watch her die, so I forced her to leave by shutting her out completely.”

Alpha Denzel was impressed by Alma’s strength in saving her wolf for later.

“That was a wise decision,” he remarked. Alma smiled and continued,

“True, but Claudia was furious and forced me to eat, which I refused. I knew that upsetting her would send me back to the well. I had learned to survive and knew that even without my wolf, I could, but I couldn’t allow myself to eat her food and turn evil.”

The atmosphere grew emotional, and Alpha Lawn embraced Alma. “I’m so proud of you, my little wolf.”

“Thank you. So, when she sent me back to the well, those animals became my friends. Strangely, it never snowed, the well never filled with water, and the sun was never too hot. Without my wolf, I wouldn’t have survived, but that’s when I knew the moon goddess was watching over me.”

Alpha Lawn sighed. “Alice already killed Claudia, but you can seek revenge on Eileen now.”

“Oh, Alice. Are you the one with powers?” Alma asked, looking at the girl with tears in her eyes.

“Yes, Mom.”

“Thank you very much,” Luna Alma expressed her gratitude. Alice smiled and replied, “No need to thank me, Mom. Luna Valerie healed me.”

Alma suddenly realized something. “Were you injured?” She asked, feeling guilty.

“Don’t worry about it. Her power is fire, and I gained an Alpha wolf after losing my Luna wolf. I managed to harness the powers from the lake.”

Luna Alma’s eyes widened. “You must be very powerful now. How did you lose your wolf?”

Alpha Denzel took responsibility. “It was my fault. My best friend was secretly targeting my family and loved ones. I didn’t know it was him, so I was afraid he’d harm her too. I had to reject her right after Tristan’s rejection, causing her to lose her wolf.”

“You don’t have to explain further. You’ve already shown yourself to be a wonderful person. Can I see Eileen now?” Alma asked with a steely gaze. Alpha Denzel stood up and led her, saying,
